Chapter 295 - 295: Ailment! [FIXED!]
A couple of hours before the party began, the world experienced a few events.
Kyle watched over Aiysha, but he didn’t want to cross any boundaries, so he gave Ella a call to come over.
Ella acted without hesitation, recognising the urgency in his voice, and dropped everything to run to him.
This gesture didn’t go unnoticed by Kyle, and Ella had to get a membership before she was given access.
However, all eyes were on her because she had a dangerous aura around her due to the tattoos on her.
She got past all the barriers that would keep her away from Kyle, and Kyle ushered her into the room.
Everyone was looking, confused as to what was going on, but this wasn’t against gym policy, especially if they were a couple.
This was the option Ella filled in, or she wouldn’t have been allowed into the room.
“Why did you call me?” Ella questioned, but Kyle pointed to the shower room.
Ella’s heart dropped because she thought he had done something, and the loose jacket sitting on the chair outside showed there was someone there.
Ella was scared, and Kyle could tell; he rolled his eyes in annoyance.
“Yes, Ella. I killed someone, and out of everyone I could call, I called you,” Kyle said sarcastically.
“Fuck you!” Ella fired back right away, but her tense body loosened up as she walked into the shower and saw a woman barely awake, under the shower.
“Are you okay?” Ella asked right away, rushing to see what was going on.
“I-I am, it looks like I came to work sick,” Aiysha said, but the temperature had been brought under control.
However, Ella was confused why they hadn’t taken her to a hospital because money wasn’t a problem for Kyle, and even if it was, this wasn’t going to cost much.
“Why aren’t you in the hospital!?” Ella questioned, her voice was raised so Kyle could hear her, too.
This was a question directed at both of them, but Kyle kept quiet because this was ultimately Aiysha’s choice.
“I came into sick work and this is a fitness centre…” Aiysha said, allowing Ella to connect the dots.
This was one of the more established gyms in the area, and if one of their employees came in sick, it would ultimately have serious repercussions, which was why they allowed them to call in sick whenever they were.
They gave them that much freedom, so something like this doesn’t happen, but Aiysha didn’t want to be in the house, which was understandable considering the relationship with her husband.
The kids weren’t in the house either; they were sent to their grandparents’ place, so this gave Aiysha and Jones enough time to handle things like adults without impacting how the children saw their marriage.
They wanted to set a good example because they knew what could happen should they see the negatives.
Ella sighed, and she brought a gym bag with a change of clothes for Aiysha, but it was Ella’s clothes.
Aiysha wore them because she needed a change of clothes, and Kyle instructed Ella to take her to the hospital.
The excuse would be that something happened to her clothes, so she would be going home to change, which is an acceptable excuse.
Kyle knew this job meant a lot to her because it was a constant reminder of how far she had come.
She came a long way to attain this body, and should she lose this job, it could be the start of a dangerous decline.
This was something Kyle understood more than most, and he had to protect her escape.
Ella left with Aiysha; they weren’t asked many questions because Aiysha looked healthy.
This wouldn’t have been possible if she had left the way Kyle had found her.
Kyle trained alone; he had an idea of the routine he would need, but Kyle noticed the weights he could handle had gone up significantly.
This wasn’t the only change he had noticed, but his body had become a lot more toned than before, even though the progress was minuscule.
Kyle finished his workout, which lasted for approximately an hour, but he increased his reps because his body had adjusted to the previous reps.
Even though he took some time off, Kyle liked the idea of this because he understood that it was something he could benefit from in the long run.
He walked out of the gym, skipping the opportunity to take a shower, but either way, he could feel Tasha’s eyes on him.
He hated turning her down, but a lady who was this thirsty couldn’t bring anything positive to his life.
Scarcity creates value after all, and just before Kyle was about to pull off, he noticed a Tesla parked right beside him.
Kyle remembered this car, but brushed it aside as it wasn’t something that affected him at the moment.
Kyle understood the consequences of causing trouble and left the vicinity because he wanted to go home and get some much-needed rest.
Kyle returned home and saw Jones, but Jones called him right away.
“Hey Kyle, how’re you doing?” Jones greeted him right away, but there was something off about his body language.
“Are you okay?” Kyle asked right away, but also knew he had something more important to tell him.
“I think you might want to know, but your wife has been taken to the hospital,” Kyle informed him, and the causal smile on his face disappeared.
“WHAT!?” Jones exclaimed, the panic in his voice notable.
“WHEN? HOW? WHAT HAPPENED!?” Jones questioned, not caring about the tone of his voice.
“It is a fever…” Kyle informed him, and Jones already had his phone in hand, trying to reach Aiysha, but there was no response on the other end.
“Relax, panicking won’t do you any good. I plan to go there later, maybe you can tag along?” Kyle suggested it because Aiysha was fine.
“S-She didn’t even call me,” Jones said under his breath.
“I wonder why…” Kyle said suggestively, which brought up the big question.
“How did you know?” Jones asked, but all Kyle did was stare at him blankly like he was waiting for him to connect the dots.
“Oh right, gym…” Jones said, to which Kyle nodded to confirm this was correct.
“Want to come in?” Kyle asked him, and Jones had no reason not to because they were going to head to the hospital together.
He followed behind him, and Jones wanted to ask him who the tattooed woman was, but now wasn’t the time to ask such a question with his wife in the hospital.
“Are you sure she will be fine?” Jones asked again to be sure, but Kyle was already in the shower to wash off the sweat.
He didn’t want to stay in his sweatshirt longer than he needed to; he could have easily showered there, but for his security, he decided against it.
He didn’t know Tasha, but there was a chance she would disobey protocols. He knew the gym would frown upon her trying to sleep with its members, so she was fine breaking rules.
Jones decided to keep quiet after he didn’t get a response for a couple of minutes. Ella was with his wife, and this was among the things Kyle told him.
Jones knew he had to calm down, but these were the moments where couples usually resolved their fights because they would understand the fragility of mortality.
It took approximately 40 minutes for Kyle to get ready, and Jones noticed his shoulder was slightly bigger.
He would have liked to join the gym and get into shape, but work was the one thing keeping him out.
No, that was an excuse. He didn’t need to work for the rest of his life if he didn’t want to at this point, because his financial future was secure.
“Okay, I’m ready,” Kyle said, picking up his car keys as they headed out the door.
The sun had set, and night was coming, but Kyle was sure Ella wasn’t waiting for them in the hospital as she had played her role.
–
Lorenzo had been revealed to, in fact, have associations with the Mafia, who tasked him with keeping an eye on Calista, but how did Nakamura miss this?
There was no way someone of his stature would let this information slip by him.
Lorenzo returned to the party and played his role. Everyone was jolly, and the movie was going to be a success.
This had been done right, and they got the most out of it because their social media account became a sensation.
The amount of new followers they had gotten in such a short time was tremendous, and there was no way their lives wouldn’t change after this.
This also meant Lorenzo had a lot more to lose should things go south because he was no longer a nobody.
“I’m so sorry, Calista…” Lorenzo muttered under his breath. She might be a spoiled lady, but she didn’t deserve what he was about to do to her.
