Chapter 4548: One Life! I
Chapter 4548: One Life! I
The words carried extraordinary weight!
A few seconds later, space rippled as two powerful presences descended into the training area.
The figure of The Infiniverse made her appearance alongside Khor, both of them radiating authority that dwarfed even the impressive powers Leonore and Riya had been displaying.
The Infiniverse’s voice cut through the tension with cold precision.
"What was the message?" she demanded immediately.
Leonore Rureaux’s expression became difficult to read as she formulated her response carefully.
"He wanted to talk with Sir Osmont," she said with voice carrying complex emotion. "Just... Sir Osmont specifically. No one else."
Her expression almost seemed heavy and lost as she delivered this information, but then her features became firm with determination.
"I can put my entire existence on the line to say that he is currently in control of his own consciousness," she said with absolute conviction. "That THE Living Paradox is not currently in control of the body. Schrodinger would not reach out otherwise."
She looked toward The Infiniverse and Khor with eyes carrying hope mixed with desperation.
"THE Living Paradox would be suppressed by existence itself if he tried to manifest directly, correct? So this has to be Schrodinger acting independently."
With such words, she searched their faces for confirmation or denial.
The Infiniverse regarded her with analytical coldness before speaking with simple directness.
"Where?" she asked without preamble or emotional inflection.
Leonore Rureaux responded immediately.
"In the Transcendent Paradoxical Folds," she said with specific precision. "A location where only he and I knew the exact coordinates."
After such words were spoken, The Infiniverse nodded with calm acceptance of this information. She turned her head to look at Khor with command implicit in her gaze.
"Get ready," she said with finality.
...!
Some meetings were fortuitous.
And some meetings were deadly.
And they would not know which this was until they arrived.
---
In the Transcendent Paradoxical Folds.
In one particular region, the convergence of two seas created a spectacle of impossible beauty. One sea flowed with gold authority representing order and structure. The other churned with obsidian power representing entropy and dissolution.
Where these seas met, they formed waterfalls that fell in opposite directions simultaneously. One cascade flowed upward toward an invisible sky while its twin descended into bottomless depths. Both defied gravity and logic in equal measure.
The beggar-like figure of Schrodinger stood before this paradoxical phenomenon, stretching his hand out toward the converging waterfalls. His tattered robes hung loosely on his frame as he felt the contradictory nature of the flowing authority.
Gold and obsidian. Order and chaos. Rising and falling. All existing simultaneously without canceling each other.
Behind him, space began to distort with massive fluctuations of concentrated power.
Millions of auras bloomed into existence with coordinated precision.
The emergence was breathtaking in its scope and organization!
HUUM!
Thirty million Primus Inevitabilities materialized in perfect formation, each one adorned in gleaming Civilizational Armor.
Ten million wore armor of The Infinite Bulwark Specialization, their forms radiating defensive authority with an allure of unique auroras of gold!
Another ten million bore armor of The Hungering Maw Specialization, their forms wreathed in obsidian-crimson hunger that sought to devour all opposition. Their armor was dark and predatory, designed for overwhelming offensive capability.
The final ten million displayed armor of The Vital Chorus Specialization, their forms pulsing with emerald vitality that sustained and regenerated. Their armor was verdant and organic.
And leading this terrifying army stood several figures of extraordinary power.
The Infiniverse herself commanded the vanguard, her form composed of flowing Omniverses, folds, and verdant-gold light that made her appear simultaneously vast and intimate. Her presence dominated the space despite her humanoid scale.
Beside her floated Arch Lich Ra’Zan, an entity of death authority commanding a terrifying legion of undead beings that radiated necrotic power.
Khor was present in her small diminutive form, but the waves of Hunger emanating from her tiny body were increasingly terrifying in their intensity.
And finally stood the figures of Leonore Rureaux and Riya!
Not too many. Just these few!
The tense standoff settled over the region like a physical weight.
The regal and majestic Infiniverse gazed at Schrodinger with eyes that carried no warmth or mercy. When she spoke, her voice cut through the tension with cold precision.
"Why would you be calling for The Master?" she demanded without preamble.
Yet Schrodinger did not reply to her initially. His gaze moved past The Infiniverse to settle on Leonore Rureaux with visible fondness mixed with profound pain.
The two shared a long look weighted with unspoken history and complex emotion.
Then Schrodinger moved his head away to look at the cold gazes of Khor and The Infiniverse. His eyes swept across the terrifying army of millions standing arrayed against him in disciplined formation.
When he finally spoke, his words held depth born of recent realizations.
"In existence, there are those who control the course of events, and those who can only follow the paths laid before them," he said with measured cadence. "I genuinely thought I was among the controllers for the longest time. One of those who operated behind the scenes and manipulated circumstances to achieve desired outcomes."
His expression became bitter.
"Only to discover that I was merely a piece being played and positioned over an extremely long duration. And now I am simply being moved across the board as another piece in a game far grander than I comprehended. The ones truly in control of this game are cruel beings beyond measure."
He paused before continuing with intensity.
"THE Living Existences and THE Creature are cruel beings who operate at scales we cannot comprehend. They look at existence in an entirely different manner than all of us. For them, our greatest struggles and deepest pain do not carry much significance in the grand calculation."
His voice became heavier.
"And right now, I stand before you as a direct consequence of that cruel indifference. Because THE Living Paradox has decided to play what he considers an amusing joke on our existence. It is a simple joke at that, elegant in its cruelty."
Schrodinger’s eyes gleamed with something resembling resignation.
"The Fallout, the eruption of THE Loom that approaches inevitably... countless lives across Observable Existence would be lost completely due to its manifestation. Decillions upon Decillions of countless beings collapsed into nothingness."
He raised his hand toward them.
"THE Living Paradox has staked all of those lives on the fate of a single being. On... the life of Osmont specifically. One life. One...life. If Osmont perishes, and Osmont alone dies before THE Loom erupts... his Civilization will be spared from collapse. And more importantly, the weak lifeforms scattered across all of Observable Existence will also be spared from The Fallout’s devastation."
BOOM!
