Chapter 1813: Chapter 1809: The Sealing of the Demons Battle (Second Update)
Xue An skillfully steered the conversation elsewhere.
Indeed.
Upon hearing Xue An’s words, An Yan quickly rushed to Hu Ying’s side, looking nervously outside, and then began whispering softly with Hu Ying and Ah Rou.
This silent crisis was temporarily averted.
Huyue looked at Xue An with a mischievous grin, appearing as obnoxious as possible.
Xue An glared at him fiercely, then lowered his voice to say, "Are you asking for a beating?"
"Hehe, why? Afraid your wife will find out about your dealings with that Dragon Clan little princess?" Huyue laughed even more gleefully.
"Scram, what do I have to be afraid of? I haven’t done anything to betray Yan’er!"
"Then why were you so nervous just now?"
"Was I nervous? I don’t think so!" Xue An retorted righteously.
"Not nervous? If you weren’t nervous, why did you change the subject so quickly? Isn’t that the guilty conscience of a thief?"
Xue An: "..."
Then he said in a low voice, "I switched subjects only to prevent your loose tongue from spewing nonsense!"
Huyue pouted, "That excuse might fool a ghost, but not me!"
Speaking so, he leaned closer with a mischievous smile and whispered, "Don’t worry, I’ll keep this secret safe for you, as long as your wife doesn’t suspect me. Otherwise, don’t blame me for betraying you in the name of justice!"
While saying this, Huyue was immensely pleased.
Because he believed he had finally grasped an opportunity against Xue An!
Seeing the arrogance and smugness on this fellow’s face, Xue An suddenly wanted to tie his tail into a beautiful bow.
But helplessly, the situation was beyond his control now.
Thus, he had to suppress the impulse within his heart and whispered, "Is that so? Then I really have to thank you!"
The word "thank" was practically squeezed out through Xue An’s teeth.
"No need to thank, we’re good brothers, this is what I should do!" Huyue laughed mischievously.
Meanwhile, the starship had entered the Sea of Cosmic Debris.
Looking at the white expanse outside the porthole, An Yan couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
Luckily, Hu Ying had already become very adept at navigating the starship throughout the journey, so there was no jolt whatsoever, and they smoothly sailed further in.
Seeing this, An Yan breathed a slight sigh of relief and then asked puzzledly, "Honey, why are there so many fragments of stars here?"
The expanse of the Sea of Cosmic Debris was so vast, and its majority component was the dust from shattered stars, thus making An Yan so astonished.
Xue An smiled slightly, "This isn’t strange at all, because this place used to be an ancient battlefield!"
"An ancient battlefield?" An Yan was taken aback.
Xue An nodded, "Yes! The area we’re in now was once the Demon Race’s dwelling place a long time ago. It was extremely prosperous then, with stars as numerous as grains of sand. Unfortunately, a war later on utterly destroyed this place; even the stars couldn’t escape being obliterated and ended up in this current state!"
Xue An’s words, though lightly spoken, felt to An Yan as if opening a grand canvas of war, leaving her marveling at the thought.
"My goodness, a war capable of destroying countless planets, even gathering the leftover dust into a sea—how cruel and grand this war must have been!"
Xue An shrugged slightly, "Indeed, it’s said that innumerable powerful beings of the Demon Race perished in this war, earning it the name ’The Demon Sealing War’ in later generations, as post-war the once flourishing Demon Race dwindled rapidly."
"Then why did such a brutal war occur?" An Yan asked, her curiosity piqued.
Xue An shook his head, "I’m not quite sure, but Huyue might have some insider knowledge, since this war took place within their Demon Race! Is that right, Huyue?"
Huyue’s expression became somewhat peculiar, shaking his head and then smiling bitterly, "Honestly, I don’t know the true details of that ancient war either. I’ve asked the Great Elder several times, but they all keep it strictly confidential, refusing to reveal even the slightest information. All I know is that the Demon Sealing War seems to have an inseparable connection with the Dragon Clan!"
These words made Xue An’s eyes sparkle slightly.
"Related to the Dragon Clan?"
"Yes! That’s the only clue I have; for more details, you’d have to ask the Great Elder!"
Just as they were discussing the ancient war, Hu Ying suddenly shouted, "Everyone hold tight, we’re exiting!"
With that said, two little girls immediately grabbed Chan’er and Xiao Yu’s hands, and the four sat together.
Simultaneously.
The starship beneath them jolted sharply, then the scene outside the porthole abruptly opened up to a vast starry sky.
"Alright, we’ve exited the Sea of Cosmic Debris. Ahead lies millions upon millions of miles to the Dragon Ancestral Land! Hold tight, we’re setting off!" After checking the star map, Hu Ying said excitedly.
"Wait!" Xue An suddenly called out.
"Hm? What’s up, Brother Xue?" Hu Ying paused.
"Someone’s coming!"
Hardly had he spoken when they saw multiple streams of light escorting a large banner arriving near the starship.
On the flag was boldly displayed the image of a menacing white tiger.
Huyue’s eyes narrowed slightly, "It’s the White Tiger Clan of the Demon Race, their territory is nearby, probably alerted by the disturbance and came to check!"
At this moment, the figures beneath the flag became visible.
It was none other than Li Xiongling.
Only now, Li Xiongling was no longer the disheveled figure from the Dragon Ancestral Land; he had returned to a radiant state, yet his eyes occasionally flashed with fierce malice.
"I am the White Tiger Clan’s Young Master, may I ask which esteemed friends are inside the starship?"
Although his tone was polite, his subordinates stealthily surrounded them as he spoke.
Li Xiongling appeared here purely to vent his fury.
After suffering a tremendous loss at the Dragon Ancestral Land, he returned to the White Tiger Clan’s Territory boiling with anger, and exaggeratedly recounted the events to his father and the clan’s high-ranking members.
Upon hearing his narration, the White Tiger Clan’s high-ranking members were equally enraged, for no matter what, Li Xiongling represented the White Tiger Clan.
The fact that Ao Yi dared to act violently in public clearly showed they disregarded the White Tiger Clan.
Back then, Li Xiongling’s father exclaimed he would go to the Dragon Ancestral Land to settle accounts with Ao Yi, but was held back by others.
Because they had received an invitation to attend Ao Shu’s promotion ceremony.
Therefore, the White Tiger Clan decided to settle this account at the ceremony in front of the entire Demon Race.
Thus the matter was postponed.
Though Li Xiongling was somewhat unwilling, he dared not say anything further.
