Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1189 - 1189: You know it already

[Eon’s POV: ]

{ “We started in the last batch, with the people that are much older than many of you right now. The seniors that were student council presidents in our times weren’t all that special.

They weren’t bad at all, I mean… I don’t see myself being on the same level as my predecessors anytime soon, though I strive for it.” }

President Zodiac had been an amazing president for all of us.

Ever since we came to the academy, he had made things pretty fun for not just house captains that he interacted with directly, but also for the other students.

‘The things that both of them had done for our batch are definitely significant.’

If it weren’t for them, I might not have been able to handle my house as well as I did. Zoe doesn’t get involved directly since that’s how she works, so not just me, but most of us captains had difficulty with many things regarding the houses and the house members.

But thanks to the two of them we were able to handle them well. It was not a simple task, but the two of them guided us to the best of their abilities.

‘In the first place, I wanted him to be a part of my plans.’

The first time we saw him, he was nothing more than an awesome assassin who infiltrated the hideout of a bunch of Rakshasas and killed them with his cool skills.

The techniques that he used back then are still as clear as day in my mind. The way Sansan devoured the bodies of those people was the way he used his special Aura of yin-yang harmony.

The time that we have spent together as friends had been pretty precious for me, but as the head of the community made of the students, he had worked with the best of his abilities to make all the events, every single thing that happened over the last year as good as it could have been.

{ “I remember the day we greeted you all as clearly as yesterday… you all were sitting in this very hall, lost and without many friends, unaware of what awaited you all.” }

He was happy that he was standing there right now. I could feel how proud he was feeling. There was no way I couldn’t tell his emotions right now.

‘Even Del, that girl…’

Our first meeting wasn’t so bright. I almost ended up obliterating her soul. She might have died that day had the output been off to only a few margins.

She did not do much to Rein, and she was lucky that the spell was triggered so early. Sansan’s golden medicine might not have been enough to save her.

‘Her bloodline also played a role in this, but that is a different case.’

We didn’t start on the best of terms, but we still cherished something in common. Her feelings for Rein were genuine, and I had known it for a long time now.

She liked her, and she wanted her to like her more than just her friend. But, she knew she could not do that. She knew she was not going to have what we have, and yet she accepted that fact and strived for what she could get as a friend, or someone that could become something more.

‘I respect her immensely for this attitude she had. I even want her to stay by my side, with us, and help us with all the things we are going to do.’

The two of them were going to step down from the position of the council heads now. But, that wasn’t going to happen today, so they just gave the students the reminder that they were going soon, and gave the stage to the headmaster.

{ “I’ve seen countless council heads, many of them were amazing people that ended up becoming someone you all learn about nowadays.

Those who hold the position of the head of this student council have to deal with so many things that I know for a fact that most of you aren’t capable of handling what they all handle.” }

Coming from the headmaster, those words were more surprising than some teacher cursing us outright.

But that just showed how significant their work really is. Without the student council presidents, perhaps the academy might not be able to function properly.

{ “There have been countless people who have held the position of the council heads, however, Cradle and Zodiac are some of the names that I will never forget– names that have justified their positions much better than most.” }

The things that one does as representative of the student body as well as the headmaster’s will went far beyond what we do as the Members of the student council.

The responsibilities that they have, the tasks that they carry, the things that they receive in return, the things that they know about this world, and the things that they are vulnerable to increase exponentially.

There are even times when they have to put their lives on the line in the name of the academy and the headmaster and if they cannot do that, they do not deserve to be in that position… I know from my knowledge how there have been times when the council heads aren’t competent enough to handle the tasks that they are required to handle.

The headmaster ultimately has to seek help from the outside, but that is just how things have been for many years.

There have been times, however, when there are people so competent that they could not only handle all the tasks of the council, but they could even manage things beyond their roles and aid the headmaster with things that a student shouldn’t be doing.

Both of them were just that much capable… especially Del. However harsh she may be on the students or however foul mouthed she may be, she was someone even I would have to learn a thing or two from.

{ “The time that they have spent in this institution has been meaningful and we have been able to do our work better thanks to their presence. As such, I thank both of you, Del, and Zod. Thank you for being there.” }

The headmaster was thanking them sincerely, so the two of them couldn’t help their emotions right now.

They weren’t leaving right away but they were still making them emotional.

{ “You students…” }

After finishing that, the headmaster started talking about how we had finished our first year and were entering the second year. We will soon finish this year as well and enter our last year… after which, we will go into the world where we will have to deal with all sorts of things.

‘Most of the students that graduate from the great academy of hope end up earning a big name for themselves in various fields.’

With the ultimate goal of the academy being the holistic growth of the individuals, the academy prepares them for the real world and how they could help the society in various ways.

Even the students who barely manage to pass could get a good job somewhere. The academy helps them receive a proper position fit for their skills.

The students who are outstanding receive special privileges of working under high ranking people in the fields or an opportunity to learn further from established masters and grandmasters of various fields.

A lot happens after you leave the academy, but the headmaster– his clone– focuses on what we will be doing during our second year and how we will be exposed to the outside world more often this time.

‘Last year, it was only the alchemy competition, but there is so much more that we still have to see.’

There could have been many more events where we would have to go out from the academy itself, where we would be representing the great academy, but due to things like the Lakmer incident and the Great Conference, many things did not happen.

The year went up faster than we thought as well, we couldn’t do a lot of things because of that. But, the headmaster reassured us that the same wasn’t going to happen this time.

‘We will be doing a lot more activities this time.’

{ “We may be beginning this new year with the retirement of our capable presidents, but we are going to have new leading figures for the council with their departure as well.” }

The headmaster smiled as he looked throughout the hall, in the eyes of certain individuals.

{ “You know them already, perhaps. They might just be sitting next to you~.” }

He left us all on a strange note. Now, everyone was looking around them and most of the eyes were on the two of us… yeah, no. This isn’t right.

“What?”

“What do you mean?”

“Why are you looking at us like that!?”

Rein didn’t like how Tia, Liz, Med, and the rest were looking at her. Was it so obvious? I mean, the members of the student council are all hidden people. No one knows who is in the council so the possibility that we were in the council was just as good as Ball being one of the council members.

“Don’t give us that look, ok!? Please!”

Well, the headmaster hinted at it. But, it was still uncertain. Even the two of us don’t know who will be the president and vice president… yes we were the most likely candidates, but the final say is in the hands of the previous presidents.

‘That’s just how succession planning happens in this academy.’

Anyway… now that the headmaster was done with the talk, we would soon return to our classes.

Our classroom was waiting for us. And, we were also waiting to see our classroom, as well as our class teacher once again.
