“Will you speak now?” Anger surged from the deepest depths of her heart filled with raging blood.

“Where is Ames? What… happened to him?”

She was using her power of Authority. A unique power that belonged only to few in this entire world.

Individuals were born with this power and could use it ever since they reached a delicate age, and though the degree at which they could use this power varied from person to person possessing it, it was a unique power with a predetermined upper limitation.

It grew along with the person and depending on the life they lived, it might grow up to its full potential.

However, only the individual possessing this power could know the full potential of this unique power of theirs… a unique power that was near absolute.

Depending on the opponent, or the target object, whatever the individual said, or commanded to that person or object had to be realised by the target.

“I…! Ugh!”

An absolute command.

Something the opponent could not disobey if they were statistically weaker than the commander- the authority possessor- under the environmental factors.

“Miss Nolan. You’re hurting him.”

After seeing the objects that this person was auctioning out to the public without even a spark of the knowledge of what these items were, she could not help but be enraged at this whole absurdness.

She lost control…

And in the process… she almost killed the poor man.

“Tell me! Now!”

And even though he tried to stop her, she continued Ordering the individual to speak up.

To tell her about how he got these items.

“Miss Nolan! That’s enough now!”

To tell her… how things that should have only belonged to one of the only individuals in this entire world that she could call a ‘friend’, to a fellow merchant that she studied with under her master, were now being sold on the streets by some dumb, homeless scammer.

“He’ll really die at that rate!”

“Then let him die!”

Tears had built up in her eyes when she shouted back at him… it was no passing matter to her. He knew that from that look already.

But that did not justify her actions.

Killing someone in the middle of the city? Right when the association guards were glaring daggers at them?

He couldn’t have that.

Not on the day that was supposed to be their first date…

“Miss Nolan.”

He placed his hand on her shoulder, and looked directly in her eyes.

“Please stop this, and calm down. This is enough.”

There was no blood visible on the ground yet but he could tell from the way that person was pressing his head on the ground after her order, there was a good chance he would soon start bleeding from too much pressure to his head.

He never knew she was that strong… it was a little scary, and unexpected, but this wasn’t his first time coming across someone that could use the power of Authority.

So he knew what he needed to do in this situation.

“Ughhhh…”

“Ames…” She looked back at his reassuring eyes and somehow her heart calmed down.

She was not in her best position right now, this whole situation was too much for her and she wanted to just break this bastard after seeing these things, but thanks to him, his eyes… she was able to get herself back.

“Huuuu.”

Taking a deep breath and nodding at him, she looked back at the one on the ground and spoke up once again.

“Be at ease. And get up.”

She did not use her Authority this time since there was no need to.

Her mere words were enough to give the suffering man his freedom back.

“Brian, help me collect these things.”

“Yes…”

The market was bustling still, people who saw collect all the items that others were betting to get their hands on called the security guards and told them about the whole situation, however, a certain lady suddenly showed up there before the guards had any chance to approach the two.

“Sarah.”

“Nol…”

“Ames?”

Her friend was somehow here, and it didn’t take her even a moment to sort things out with the guards and the others thanks to her special voice.

She sorted things out with the crowd quickly and went up to her friend… who was supposed to be on a date right now.

Not that it was possible anymore.

“Sarah. Did something-.”

“We should talk somewhere else, Nol.”

Sarah looked up at the man in the mask after she evaluated everything that had gone on in this place.

She knew he was somehow able to calm her down when she had almost lost control, and she found it impressive, certainly.

But… they did not have time to think about this stuff.

“Brian. Looks like this first date of ours will have to end here.”

Nolan was upset.

But, in that moment, she was more angry than she was upset.

She did not like the way this thing had to end. But, there was only one thing on her mind now.

“I’m sorry… I’ll have to go now.”

“It’s alright.”

He could see from the serious expression of the two women that whatever the situation might be, it was a personal matter.

And he was not close enough with her that he could be part of her personal matters.

“Please take care of yourself.”

He could tell that the woman that was standing with her, the woman that he somehow seemed to have seen somewhere, was more than capable of taking care of his date.

So, he didn’t waste any of their time.

“We will continue where we left off next time.”

Nolan also didn’t like how this fun thing had to end so abruptly, but there was nothing she could do about it either.

The situation was urgent and she knew the news that she would hear from her friend would be nothing good.

“I’ll contact you.”

She looked back at him for a moment, looked into his eyes with a bitter expression… and placed a simple looking ring in his hand.
