Chapter 2705: Three Pieces of Information
Chapter 2705: Three Pieces of Information
Zu An was taken aback. A single universe was already unimaginably huge as it was, and there were multiple universes on top of that. To think the Universal Conglomerate would have branches everywhere! This was proof of their strength.
“Doesn’t that mean that you’re highly respected within the conglomerate?”
9527 wasn't a small number, but it was nothing compared to the sheer number of planets out there in the Myriad Worlds. Having such a number showed that the employee was of considerable stature within the conglomerate.
Employee 9527’s face beamed with pride. “Esteemed guest, you’re flattering me.”
Zu An took this opportunity to shoot a question. “May I know which universal deity is protecting the Universal Conglomerate?”
The Universal Conglomerate couldn’t have grown so big without the aid of a universal deity.
Employee 9527 smiled. “This isn’t a secret in the Myriad Worlds. Our Universal Conglomerate worships the Deity of Order, and we maintain our principles to ensure fair trade. That’s also why different universes are willing to trade with us.”
Zu An nodded. I’ve learned about another universal deity. The Deity of Order... He didn’t ask about the Deity of Order’s name, knowing it could draw the latter’s gaze.
“Sit well, esteemed guest. We’ll be setting off.” Employee 9527 took out a formation disc and began controlling it.
Zu An studied the formation disc, curious to know how it worked. He quickly realized that the formation disc contained not just formations, but also some kind of technology. But even though the world he had transmigrated from, Earth, was a technological civilization, he wasn't a scientist. His high school-level scientific knowledge wasn't enough for him to comprehend the principles of the formation disc.
Soon, the boat set off. Zu An took one last look at the Cultivation World, wondering when he would return.
The boat initially moved slowly, but a light barrier soon formed around the boat, and it began moving at an incredible speed. The surroundings began glowing brightly as the boat seemed to travel through pockets of space.
Zu An would never have thought that this shabby-looking sailboat could travel at such fast speeds. Despite being on the boat, he felt no turbulence whatsoever. On top of that, he noticed that the boat wasn't just flying straight but traversing through ‘barriers’.
Top experts of the Cultivation World could also temporarily travel in space, but no matter how long they flew, all they saw was the bleak void and desolate planets. They wouldn’t see such a brilliant sight.
Sensing Zu An’s bewilderment, Employee 9527 explained with a smile, “This is spatial leap technology. It allows one to move at extreme speeds while traversing through normal world barriers.”
Zu An was awed. This technology is far superior to that of my previous world.
Employee 9527 soon stowed away the formation disc, and the boat automatically traveled toward the assigned coordinates.
“How much longer will it take for us to arrive at the temporary world?” Zu An asked.
“Using your world’s time calculation method, around two hours,” Employee 9527 replied politely.
“That’s long!” Zu An was surprised that it would take that long despite them traveling so quickly. The temporary world had to be extremely far away from the Cultivation World.
“This much precaution is required to ensure the safety of our guests.” Employee 9527 first verified that the boat was functioning properly before saying, “There’s still some time before reaching the temporary world, so why don’t we make a deal?”
Zu An was surprised. “What deal?”
Employee 9527 didn’t answer the question. Instead, he asked, “What do you think is the most important thing you need when exploring the Myriad Worlds?”
“Information,” Zu An replied without hesitation.
“Indeed.” Employee 9527’s eyes gleamed with approval. “Most people would answer 'strength', but there is bound to be someone stronger or possessing an ability that curbs you in the Myriad Worlds. That’s why it is important to collect intelligence beforehand to avert danger.”
Zu An nodded in agreement. “I presume you’re intending to sell information to me. Does the Universal Conglomerate know everything in the world?”
Employee 9527 shook his head. “The Myriad Worlds are vast. As formidable as our conglomerate is, we aren’t omniscient.”
He suddenly changed his tone and continued with a proud smile, “But we can answer most questions that people have.”
Zu An was awed. “May I know what currency the Universal Conglomerate uses?”
Employee 9527 replied with a smile, “There are many worlds across the universes, each one having their own currency. Unfortunately, what is valuable in one world can be commonplace in another. For instance, diamonds can be valuable gemstones in some worlds, but there are also worlds where diamonds rain from the sky.
“To deal with that issue, our Universal Conglomerate trades using credit points. All worlds trade with us using credit points, and we transport their resources to other worlds to sell and earn a profit.”
“That sounds fair.” Zu An wasn’t surprised. There were similar concepts in his previous world’s sci-fi novels.
“Of course it is. Our Universal Conglomerate will never take advantage of our customers!”
“What can I use to trade for credit points, and how many credit points would a piece of information cost?”
“Ores, weapons, armor, and cultivation methods can all be traded for credit points. However, your world isn’t particularly strong, so I fear you will struggle to earn enough credit points for even a piece of information. Secrets and intelligence are the most valuable assets in the Myriad Worlds.” Employee 9527 briefly paused before adding, “But if you’re willing to stake your World Law Beacon, you should be able to earn a decent amount of credit points.”
Zu An calmly replied, “You just mentioned that the Universal Conglomerate doesn’t take advantage of its customers. Do you think I don’t know how much a Wonderpoint World is worth?”
His friends and lovers resided in the Cultivation World. He wouldn’t sell it to anyone else even if it wasn’t a Wonderpoint World.
“This is a normal haggling method; it doesn’t defy our conglomerate’s principles.” Employee 9527 realized that his explanation wasn’t convincing, so he added, “But I was indeed a bit abrupt. Since this is our first meeting, in accordance with the Universal Conglomerate’s rules, I can provide you two free pieces of information. I’ll add an extra one in as a sign of my goodwill. I hope you will see our Universal Conglomerate in a positive light in the future.”
In the Myriad Worlds, those who possessed a Wonderpoint World were all formidable powerhouses. While the man before him appeared weak at the moment, his potential wasn't to be underestimated. It would be wise to befriend him while he’s still weak.
He'd thought he could exploit Zu An’s ignorance to buy the Wonderpoint World, but his recklessness had ended up piquing the other party’s displeasure. If the other party was vindictive, it could spell trouble for the Universal Conglomerate in the future. Resolving a future grudge with an additional piece of information was a worthwhile trade.
Zu An’s expression alleviated a little. “My gratitude to you and the Universal Conglomerate.”
He pondered for a while before asking his first question, “What universal deities are there in the Myriad Worlds?”
