Chapter 2793: Goes Against the Natural Order

Tingxue raised her head. Her usually cold face carried a hint of astonishment.

Zu An was taken aback. “How do we test that?”

Firework looked at him with a devious smile. “I believe you have a lot of lovers. Are you pretending to be innocent now?”

Zu An’s face reddened. “I just find your words inconceivable.”

“Inconceivable? We’re too weak right now. We need to grasp every chance we can to become stronger.” Firework harrumphed. She was too used to being strong, to the point that her current vulnerability pricked at her nerves.

She'd thought that with her current body’s martial arts foundation, paired with her vast knowledge, she was unrivaled in this world. But her recent injury knocked some sense into her. There were many formidable experts in this world. Perhaps they wouldn't be a match for her in a 1-on-1, but they still posed a threat when ganging up on her.

She had to resolve this problem!

Seeing how Zu An was looking at her weirdly, Firework coldly pointed out, “Have you not wondered why no one has cleared this trial in so many years? You saw those long stairs of white bones, right? Some of them might have been stronger than us. Do you think their strength or wits were inferior to ours?”

Zu An fell silent. That was indeed the concern he harbored. To this moment, he still had no idea what this trial was about.

Firework continued, “Since we aren’t strong enough at the moment, we should do everything within our means to become stronger. If there’s a way to do so via dual cultivation, is there any reason why we shouldn’t do so?”

She turned to Tingxue and said, “It just so happens she knows the Jade Maiden Heart Sutra. You can also dual cultivate with her and raise her fighting prowess as well. That would put us in a better position to deal with whatever crisis we face ahead.”

Tingxue shot to her feet. “You can do it yourselves.”

She turned around and left, not bothering to tend to the fire anymore.

Zu An and Firework exchanged looks. Firework looked at Zu An in confusion. “Isn’t she a Nebula worshiper? She’s supposed to evaluate the world with a completely impartial mind, devoid of emotions. Is she still bothered by her physical form?”

Zu An sighed. “You’re the libertine here.”

Firework harrumphed. “Are you doing it or not? If not for the special nature of this place, I wouldn’t have made this offer. You should know that you’re the only man whom I could barely stand in all these years.”

Zu An retorted, “Isn’t it because you didn’t have a chance to meet other men because you were trapped in the forbidden land?”

“You’re asking for it!” Firework angrily lunged forward and bit Zu An’s shoulder.

“Ah! Be careful, we’re still in the midst of treatment!” Zu An was alarmed.

The Jade Maiden Heart Sutra was an unorthodox martial art in the first place; those who practiced it were prone to cultivation deviation. That was why there had to be no disturbances when channeling it. Yet Firework was still messing around.

“Don’t worry, my inner injuries have healed up considerably. I can channel a bit of my inner energy now.” Firework coyly lay on Zu An’s chest. “Big brother Zu, am I really not attractive to you?”

“What’s the matter? We’re both willing parties. Or do you not want to?” Firework gently propped up Zu An’s chin while looking at him.

“Of course not.” Zu An pushed her hand aside. “You shouldn’t be talking about this now. I’m still treating your injuries.”

“Indeed, you’re treating my injuries.” Firework chuckled. “I’m sure you know my inner injuries would recover faster if we performed dual cultivation instead.”

Zu An was aware of that as well, but how could he conflate those two things?

“Now that you can channel your inner energy, you can treat yourself. I’ll be leaving first.” Having such a gorgeous beauty in his arms, at this rate, Zu An felt as if he would succumb.

But Firework grabbed his hand and stopped him. “You aren’t allowed to leave.”

Zu An sighed. “I don’t do it with just anyone.”

Firework widened her eyes in anger. “Are you implying that I’d do it with anyone?”

“That’s not what I mean. I just think that we shouldn’t be doing this...” Zu An would have never thought a day would come when he would struggle to guard his chastity against someone else.

Firework suddenly laughed. “You say you don’t want to, but your body is honest.”

Zu An was stunned. He suddenly felt as if he had jumped genres to the romance section. Sis, did you accidentally take my script?

Firework was starting to get impatient. “You’re so wishy-washy. Are you a man or not?!”

Her look of contempt stoked Zu An’s anger. “Don’t regret uttering those words!”

“What do I have to regret?” Upon seeing that she had provoked his competitive spirit, Firework’s eyes curled in glee. “I’ll be on top.”

Zu An was stunned. “Impossible. It goes against the natural order of the world.”

The two of them came to blows.

“Cute...” Zu An was reminded of the young lady he met on the spaceship—she was eccentric but extremely endearing.

“I didn’t expect you to be a lolicon.” Firework glared at him.

Zu An nearly spurted blood. “Don’t talk rubbish! You’re obviously an adult. No, if we go by your real age...”

“Shut up!” Firework roared. Her hands had been restrained, so she could only lurch forward to seal his mouth.

Zu An was taken aback. He hadn’t expected their first kiss to happen like that.

Embarrassment flashed across Firework’s face. As their lips parted, she gently murmured, “You’re hurting me. I haven’t fully recovered yet.”

Zu An hurriedly freed her out of concern of her injuries.

But Firework used this opportunity to flip him over, seal his acupoints, and claim the initiative. She looked at him gleefully. “It’s my victory.”

She leaned toward his ear and whispered a formula, her hair naturally cascading on his chest in the process. “Remember this formula. You’ll have to cooperate with me later.”

Zu An was speechless.
