Chapter 1335: Spying Void Empire: Part-1
Chapter 1335: Spying Void Empire: Part-1
Ashara Nightfire’s POV
After entering the gates, the group of us were herded forward by two burly orc guards, their armour clinking like old iron chimes.
We trudged across a muddy path as a cold wind swept over the walls. In the distance, a massive stone dome loomed.
Soon, we were split off from the others and marched toward a cluster of squat stone blocks, a little ways away from the dome.
Here, rows of rectangular wooden boxes waited for us, each box as tall as a wardrobe and twice as heavy.
“Come on,” called one of the orc women. She motioned to me with a jerk of her hand and strode toward the nearest section. I watched her swing one of the massive boxes onto her shoulder with effortless strength.
’Damn, girl,’ I thought, blinking in disbelief.
These orc women could pass for professional hauliers.
The three orc women grabbed two boxes apiece. They moved with practised ease, chatting among themselves in their guttural language, lifting the heavy crates as if they weighed nothing.
As for me… I lingered behind, hands tucked in my cloak, feigning indifference but watching every move.
“Since you are just for the sake of the number, you can stay here,” one orc woman growled,
“But do not move anywhere, and I promise you, it’s not going to end well for you.”
With that, the trio turned and walked off toward the looming dome.
I nodded, sinking down in the corner, hands clasped between my knees. To anyone watching, I was the picture of meek obedience, just another outsider roped in for labour.
That’s what I would do if it were just me…. But I was here for a mission.
A mission where, if I played this right, I could score a date and a cock for the whole fucking day.
I scanned the surroundings carefully. Other workers laboured in their own sections, bent over the boxes.
Some looked exhausted, sweat matting their hair and dirt streaking their faces.
Just then, a shout snapped my attention back.
“Oi? What are you looking at?” barked a rough voice from a neighbouring section.
I forced a crooked smile, ducking my face deeper under my hood. “Nothing! Just killing time.” I tried to sound bored.
With a little shuffle, I drifted back to my section, careful not to look too eager… or too distant. It looked like everyone was on a strict protocol here.
No wandering eyes, no loose lips.
Just what’s going on here… Hmm… I need to enter the dome, but, as I looked at my own pile of boxes, I knew I couldn’t lift even a single one without exposing myself.
I glanced around, trying to judge if anyone was watching.
As I pretended to plan my next move, the trio of orc women stomped back into view, their arms empty.
“That fast?” I blurted, rising from my crouch, letting just enough surprise show in my voice.
The orc woman who’d spoken to me earlier said again,
“The more you empty your section, the more they pay you,” she said, swinging her arm toward the crates.
The other orcs nodded, each reaching for another set.
I saw my chance. Drawing a deep breath, I stepped forward. “Guys, if you don’t mind… can I help you?” My tone was awkward, shy, “I mean, sitting around and getting paid sounds great, but it just feels wrong earning like that… I want to pull my weight, even if it’s just one box.”
The trio exchanged glances.
“I didn’t expect that,” muttered the youngest orc.
“I guess that’s why she said she wasn’t a succubus like the others,” said another, giving me a slow nod of respect.
“Hmm… I like her,” rumbled the third, folding her arms.
The trio nodded in unison,
“However, can you even lift one box?”
I let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling my shoulders as if working up the courage. “Honestly? I have no idea. But put one on top of me, and let’s see what happens!” I crouched slightly, raising my hand.
One orc woman grinned and let the massive crate slip from her grip onto my back.
Thud!
“Ouch!” I gasped, almost flattened beneath the box’s weight, seeing stars for a second as my knees buckled.
The orc woman leapt back, alarmed. “Hey guys, don’t let her di—” she started to shout, but then froze.
Because against all odds, I forced myself upright, my body trembling with effort and a little bit of magic pulsing beneath my skin.
The crate began to lift off the ground.
“ARRRHHH!!!” I screamed, half in pain, half in triumph, as I heaved the heavy-ass box into the air.
My arms shook, sweat pouring down my face, but I managed it—if only for a second. Fuck, that thing was heavy!
The orc women stared at me.
They burst into applause, their hands clapping loud enough to echo down the block.
“Oh my goodness!” their leader shouted, laughing in delight.
“Did you see that? Not bad for a rookie!”
I straightened, grinning sheepishly, and dusted the dirt from my knees. I’d earned a little respect—and, more importantly, a little less suspicion.
“She is really a strong one, isn’t she?” murmured one of the orc women, glancing back with something like respect.
“Well then, let’s go, guys!” barked their leader. With that, the orc women each grabbed two boxes, balancing the heavy crates against their hips with effortless, almost supernatural strength. They strode out of the block, boots pounding against the stone floor, barely noticing the weight.
I trailed after them.
’Fucking… Arrrhh!!’ I grit my teeth, fighting the urge to drop the box right there.
What the fuck was in these crates? Sure, my strength had grown since leveling up—fucking him had definitely given me a boost—but these boxes… just what the hell was packed inside?
As we walked through the winding corridors, I managed to rasp, gritting my teeth, “D-Do you know what’s inside?”
All three orc women shook their heads in unison, faces tightening. “We don’t know,” the youngest replied flatly, voice low and wary. “And we shouldn’t ask any questions.” Without another word, they picked up the pace, hauling their burdens furiously towards the Dome.
The corridor opened up into a wide, echoing antechamber where armed guards leaned against the walls.
When we reached the threshold, one of the guards looked us over, then scribbled something on his battered ledger before waving us on with a flick of his wrist.
Everyone moved inside the dome, shoulders hunched, eyes fixed forward.
Inside, the Dome was a world apar… a vast chamber ringed with light crystals and blazing torch flames. Shadows danced across the stone walls, flickering over countless rows of crates and boxes stacked to the cavernous ceiling.
Everyone kept to a tight line, shuffling forward quickly, almost desperate to unload their burdens and escape.
As we walked deeper into the dome, massive columns of boxes, containers stretching on and on, like some underground labyrinth built for secrets.
“Damn,” I muttered under my breath, eyes wide at the endless cargo. Just what were they planning with all this?
’Looks like something fishy really is going on here,’ my own voice echoed in my mind, a warning bell I couldn’t ignore.
I nodded inwardly, scanning every detail—the flicker of nervous glances, the way overseers barked orders but avoided certain crates, the hurried movements of workers desperate to finish and leave.
We hauled our crates to one of the container sections, stacking them against the far wall.
My arms ached, muscles trembling, sweat soaking my face as I staggered beneath the weight. The orc woman saw me falter and snatched the box from my grip, setting it aside with a grunt.
“Come on, we need to move,” the orc woman said. She motioned me on, already grabbing the next crate. ’Fuck you, bitch!’ I screamed inside my head, but outside I only clenched my fists and stumbled along behind her.
Just like that, we repeated the process… hauling box after box, each trip grinding my strength down to nothing.
My legs grew heavy, knees threatening to buckle.
Finally, after what felt like hours, my body gave out. My legs buckled beneath me, and I crumpled to the cold stone floor.
“I-I—Ha-Ha… I can’t anymore,” I gasped, barely able to breathe, my legs trembling furiously.
The orc women paused, looking at me with a mix of surprise and grudging admiration.
“Well, she managed to get at least five boxes… Let’s go back to the section, you can rest there,” said the leader.
As soon as I heard that, I seized the chance, letting out a sharp cry. “M-My back… arhh… I can’t—please, just let me rest for a bit, please!” I begged.
The orc women exchanged glances, uncertain, then nodded. “Fine. But you better not leave this place, okay? And if anybody asks, just tell them our team is working on it and you’re just here to secure those things, alright?”
I nodded furiously… As soon as they turned away, I crawled to a spot near a broken stone pillar and collapsed, sprawling out on the cool floor. My heart hammered in my chest, every muscle screaming. But inside, I was grinning.
Looks like my acting worked.
’Hehe… I am really getting good at this,’ I thought.
’I wonder who’s responsible for that?’ Ashara’s voice teased in my head, a dry chuckle following.
Just then, heavy footsteps echoed behind me.
“What are you doing here?” a stern voice demanded.
I flinched, turning my head slowly. A man stood over me with a stern face.
Looks like there were guards inside, too.
I repeated exactly what the orc woman had told me, careful to keep my tone meek and even, masking every trace of defiance.
But the man only shook his head, eyes narrowing further as his hand clenched around the hilt of his weapon.
“It doesn’t matter. No one’s going to cheat your group. The number of boxes is marked here, and back in the block too. So you need to leave—now.” He shifted his feet, the threat barely hidden in his posture, fingers flexing as if ready for trouble.
“Okay… okay.” I raised both hands in a gesture of surrender, forcing a nervous laugh as I slowly, carefully got to my feet. My gaze flickered left and right, taking in the thick crowd of workers, the watchful guards. Attacking him head-on would be suicide—dead as fuck, no question.
Instead, I let my eyes drop beneath the shadow of my hood, mouth twisting in a sly, secretive smile.
The man frowned, “Oi, what are you—?”
“Come to me… come~” I purred, letting each syllable wrap around him like invisible chains. Instantly, his pupils dilated, the lines of his face going slack as his will melted away.
His cheeks flushed crimson, and his breath caught in his throat. He stepped forward, stumbling a bit, his body trembling as if drawn by a spell he could not resist.
I moved backwards, beckoning him with a crook of my finger, every step a careful, graceful retreat—making sure my path was hidden by stacks of crates and shadows, making sure no one could see.
My hips swayed, my cloak trailing, and my eyes glittered beneath the hood with wicked delight. The man followed blindly, staggering, his weapon forgotten at his side, his mind lost in a fog.
“Fuck you~!”
Thuck!
“Arhh!”
He slumped down behind the crates, body folding like a rag doll.
Meanwhile, on the far side of the dome, the orc women finished unloading their boxes and trudged back toward our section. As they approached, they spotted a cloaked figure, curled tightly on the stone floor beside the containers, motionless except for the shallow rise and fall of my chest.
“Are you alright?” one of them called out, her voice echoing in the gloom as she set down her boxes.
But the figure didn’t move or answer.
“Maybe she’s sleeping,” one orc said, nodding toward the subtle twitch of my hand beneath the cloak.
“Yeah, for a succubus, she managed to lift those boxes—much less transport them five consecutive times. She must have hit her limit… let her sleep. After we finish, we’ll carry her out.” The others agreed quietly and shuffled off, their heavy footsteps echoing down the cavern.
Meanwhile, under the hood… it was the guard who was now crouched, face twisted in silent horror.
His eyes clamped tightly shut, his lips pressed together by the last shreds of magic. Sweat streamed down his brow, his hands shaking uncontrollably, his body curled in on itself as he endured a nightmare that wouldn’t end.
“N-No… no… please don’t,” he whimpered, barely a whisper, as if the nightmare would swallow him whole.
Meanwhile…
“La~La~Llaa~” A figure strolled out from the shadows, humming with delight—a man in the guard’s uniform, weapon swinging at his hip, bouncing on his heels as if there wasn’t a worry in the world.
For a brief instant, his form shimmered, the outline blurring, and then a flash of a sexy woman appeared. She turned, grinning wickedly,
“Of course, who do you think I was?” I purred.
’It’s me, fuckers~’ I thought, giddy, barely holding in my laughter. With one last look over my shoulder, I skipped happily, vanishing deeper into the maze of the Dome.
