Chapter 1443: Capturing It

Chapter 1443: Capturing It

*HOLY SHIT!!*

The metallic figure muttered the words under its breath as it stared at the destruction that fucking wolf done to its outer body, while its sensors flickered wildly while recalculating its descent.

After a moment of hesitation, it tilted its body and slowly altered its trajectory, thrusters hissing softly as it aimed for a safer landing zone.

*Haha… idiot wolf.*

The metallic figure chuckled with an amused tone, watching the enraged wolf tear apart the failed machine piece by piece. Sparks flew as metal limbs were ripped away, and the figure shook its head.

Thud!

The figure landed on the ground with a heavy impact. It unlatched its parachute with a sharp tug, rolling its shoulders as internal systems stabilised, before muttering in irritation,

*Now what? Tsk, I didn’t have official authority to call Por-*

“Hello?”

The metallic figure froze for a fraction of a second before slowly turning around, joints creaking faintly as it faced the source of the sound.

There, resting on a cracked slab of stone, was a small white snake with glossy scales that shimmered faintly under the light.

Its round eyes blinked innocently as it tilted its head, staring at the figure with an almost adorable curiosity.

*Tsk. Annoying pest.*

The metallic figure raised its foot, as it prepared to crush the creature without a second thought.

In an instant, the small snake exploded in size, its body surging upward. The once harmless white form twisted into a massive, monstrous serpent!

The metallic figure stumbled back in horror.

*W-What the…*

The snake’s eyes, once cute slits, sharpened into lethal, glowing pupils.

“Where is your greeting? Hisss~”

The serpent hissed furiously,

“Hisss~ You drop into my territory like trash falling from the sky, and you do not even bow?”

*H-Huh?*

SLAP!!

Snowflake’s massive tail cracked through the air like a thunderbolt, smashing into the metallic figure and launching it across the ground. Stone shattered, dirt erupted, and the figure skidded violently before crashing into a big rock, limbs twitching uncontrollably.

That was not the end.

Snowflake reared up, white sparks swirling around her coils as crystalline shards formed along her tail.

She slammed the figure again and again.

SLAP!!

SLAP!!

“Where are your fucking manners?” she roared, “Asshole, did your mother never teach you how to greet a wonderful, proper, brim lady?”

SLAP!

SLAP!

Each strike landed on armour as it barely could move, the system’s warning it violently.

The metallic figure groaned, one arm twitching uselessly as it tried to pull itself free.

“Maybe she is a whore just like you,” Snowflake continued with a cruel grin twisting her massive face.

She raised her tail slightly and,

SLAPP!!

“Hiss~Hiss~Hisss…”

SLAP!

SLAP!

The metallic figure tried to raise an arm, sparks spraying as it emitted a distorted sound that might have been a curse or might have been a system error.

Snowflake squinted, tilting her head again.

“Was that supposed to be words?” she asked.

*F-Fuck… you-*

SLAP!

“I can talk however fuck I want,” Snowflake said, “This is my land, my air, my sky. Hiss~Hiss~Hiss~ That good bitch touch me anymore!”

SLAP!

SLAP!

“No bitch is here to control me,” she sneered, lowering her massive head until her glowing eyes were inches from the flattened figure.

“Hiss~Hiss~Hiss~ And definitely not some falling tin can.”

SLAP!

The final blow cracked the earth beneath him, embedding the figure deep into the ground.

“This is for the good bitch who acted like my asshole mother,” Snowflake spat, her voice trembling with buried fury and twisted humour.

“Hiss~Hiss~Hiss~ You remind me of everything I hate.”

SLAAAAAAPPPPPP!!!

Snowflake leaned down and spat directly onto the flattened figure’s helmet.

She straightened with regal arrogance, coils tightening as she turned away, “Fucking naggots,” she muttered haughtily, tail swaying with smug satisfaction.

The figure responded by sparking weakly and going completely still.

Snowflake blinked.

“…Did you just die?” she asked.

She waited a moment, tapping the ground lightly with her tail.

Nothing happened.

“Oh come on,” she snapped. “You do not get to interrupt my monologue by dying. That is rudeeee~”

SLAP!!

The ground caved in again!

“…. Oi? Shit! Those bitches are going to bitch me now!! Hide Snowflake!!!~Hissss~” Snowflake turned to run away, but… Kaelen arrived on the spot and noticed her.

“Fuck! What a fucking time, bitch!” Snowflake rolled her eyes back.

Soon, they took the unconscious and unmoving Metallic figure.

****

How could Kaelen and Snowflake leave the barrier when the entire empire had been locked down?

Aether, of course, could teleport without resistance. But the others did not, and yet they came and went.

They hunted monsters beyond the barrier!

The truth, however, was far simpler than anyone expected… A small, thick door!

Aether had known that turning off the barrier entirely would be reckless.

Whether for testing surroundings, allowing chosen ones to train beyond its limits, the barrier could never be lowered for something as trivial as passage.

Instead, four towers stood in an ’X’ formation at the corners of the empire. One of them had subtly had a gate into it, not breaking the barrier but threading through it.

The corner tower itself functioned as a junction, a point where the two sides met without conflict. From there, a narrow path allowed passage outward and inward for the use.

And it was heavily guarded.

Because of its importance, Aether refused to leave that place vulnerable.

A weak point, once discovered, became a weapon. His puppets stood watch within those towers across the Empire, ensuring no unauthorised soul ever learned of the passage.

But now everything had changed. Aether lay unconscious, and with him, his puppets had fallen silent.

Even so, the place remained hidden. Aether had never allowed local soldiers to know of it. Only the Chosen and the Rulers were aware of the gate’s existence, and even among them, few understood its full design.

After the chaos finally settled, Selene was healed by Sera. Somehow, despite the distance, Sera managed to reach the place, exhaustion etched deep into her movements as she worked to close wounds.

Snowflake and Kaelen, meanwhile, did not let go of the metallic figure for a single moment. Together, they dragged it back to the Palace, binding it in heavy chains.

The restraints wrapped tightly around its body, layered again and again.

Deep beneath the Palace, within the underground prison room,

“Are we really bringing it back inside?” Kaelen asked. His eyes never left the metallic figure, bound and motionless before them. “After everything it did… what if it becomes big again?”

Darkhairs studied the figure in silence before responding.

“These chains are forged from the same material as the Palace itself,” he said, “They will not break unless the creature possesses the power of a Sovereign or… shares our bloodline. Without that, it is nothing more than a prisoner.”

The group gathered closer around the bound metallic figure.

Xara stood slightly apart, her attention fixed on her daughter. The girl’s face burned with a faint blush, her expression torn between embarrassment and love… that her mother was looking at her with a worried expression and concern.

Nightfire was sleeping soundly in her chamber, placed there by Thalia.

Aqualina stepped forward, gripping a thin stick. She reached out and poked the metallic figure, watching closely for any sign of reaction.

Nothing stirred, not even a tremor.

“Is it sleeping?” Aqualina asked. She prodded it again, slower this time, as if daring it to respond.

Sera crossed her arms, “So what now?” she asked, “We prepared ourselves to drag back a corpse. Instead, we captured it alive, which might be better, honestly.” She paused, her gaze darkening.

“But that only raises the real question. How do we wake something that we never know what it is and how it works?”

Thalia added, “Also… why hasn’t the portal appeared to take it back?” Her eyes never left the restrained figure as she spoke.

Everyone frowned at once. It had happened before, had it not?

When Thalia and the others had nearly destroyed the previous entity, the portal had opened without warning. The metallic figure had surged with power and vanished through it, as if being recalled.

So why had nothing happened this time?

“Maybe… It’s outside the barrier’s range?” Aria added, her brows knitting together as she searched for logic in the uncertainty.

The thought sounded plausible.

“We still need to keep an eye on it,” Sandra said coldly, “The moment it wakes up, inform us immediately.” Her gaze shifted to Darkhairs.

Darkhairs frowned briefly. Even if they were his Master’s wives, loyalty did not bend so easily. His allegiance belonged to Aether first, and to Raven, to a lesser degree.

Orders from others carried no weight!

Noticing his reaction, Sandra rolled her eyes before stepping back, regaining her composure. She knew better than to push.

Dragons did not just obey anyone; they pride themself more and bowed only to those whom they deemed worthy of them.

Raven spoke calmly, “Perhaps Lyirrs could determine what’s interfering,” she said, gesturing toward the metallic figure. “Its surface resembles mechanisms, switches, even button-like structures. This feels closer to technology than magic, and that is her domain.”

Xara shook her head slowly, “Unfortunately, she’s occupied with the central tower. She wants to confirm there are no hidden failures or destabilisations after everything that happened.”

Raven hummed softly, considering the situation before turning her gaze back to Darkhairs. “Then I leave it to you, Supreme General. Until we have answers.”

Darkhairs bowed his head respectfully. “Of course, Your Majesty. I will inform you the moment this thing wakes up, without delay.”

Sandra’s lips twitched at the exchange, but she chose not to comment. After all, her own subordinates behaved much the same way.

As everyone began to leave the underground chamber, they noticed Dora standing near the exit.

She stared at them blankly, her expression carrying a faint trace of judgment, as though she had already drawn conclusions none of them voiced.

“What?” Sera asked.

Dora shook her head lightly. “Nothing. Just thinking,” she replied.

No one pressed further.

A few shoulders shrugged, and they continued out of the prison room. Behind them, Darkhairs locked the heavy door, positioning himself before it like an unmoving sentinel carved from stone.

As they ascended back toward the upper floors, Sandra broke the silence.

“What’s the situation with the Void?”

Aria answered carefully. “We spoke with Lia. She said she would talk to her mother and try to handle it before things escalate further.”

Sandra, Sera, and Xara exchanged glances, each humming thoughtfully in quiet contemplation.

“Anything else we should know?” Sandra asked after a moment.

Aria hesitated. Before she could answer, Helena stepped in.

“She seemed… different,” Helena said slowly.

Sandra’s gaze sharpened. “Different how?”
