Legendary Broken Player - VRMMORPG

Chapter 792 - When Gods Play Games

“The war between Divine Champions had already begun long before the players arrived in Yunatea,” Maylon continued, addressing the entire group. “And just as some of the information we’ve gathered suggests—especially the more detailed history of the Goddess of the Moon—it becomes clear that the deities granted their Blessings to Yunatea purely for their own amusement.”

This tied directly to the story of the Goddess of the Moon, who had been cast out of Heaven, and her mission to destroy the Deities of Sin. To accomplish this, she had forged the Sword of Dissidia and entrusted it to the Ancestral Wielder of the Sloth Champion—King Elandorr.

“So…” Maylon continued, “I believe the fact that Blessing statuses can be stolen and even traded will inevitably spark large-scale conflicts among players.”

“Well, that does make sense,” Euna added. “Especially if a Divine Champion doesn’t have strong backing—whether from a guild or an alliance. They’d likely become the first targets to be hunted down.”

“So that’s why…” London spoke up. “Our decision not to expose Broken and Charmelyn too openly was the right call.”

“Yeah,” Euna agreed before shooting a look at Booyoung. “Except for this big-mouthed idiot over here.”

Booyoung simply grinned in response to Euna’s remark.

“Based on what Maylon just said, isn’t it obvious that someone like Frostedge is going to be a prime target?”

That was exactly what most people in the room were thinking—including Leon himself. If Frostedge truly operated alone, that would make him the perfect prey for those looking to take down a Divine Champion.

Imagine it—if a large guild or a group of Divine Champions decided to hunt him down repeatedly, there was a real possibility that he could lose his Blessing.

“Just recruit him into Vensalor, Leon,” Ronald—RememberMe—suggested casually. “You’ve met him already, haven’t you? He’s also close to us. I mean, we’ve worked with him before, and he’s strong. Bring him into the team.”

Leon didn’t respond right away. Instead, he found himself reflecting on the thought that had already crossed his mind before.

If Frostedge had chosen to remain a solo player all this time, there had to be a reason for it.

What was even more impressive was that he wasn’t just guildless—he truly played solo in every sense of the word. No player companions, no NPC allies, not even summons. He went everywhere alone and did everything alone.

“In fact, plenty of guilds have already tried to recruit Frostedge,” Euna added, then turned to Leon. “But if you want to give it a shot, go ahead.”

Leon nodded slowly, taking in his guildmate’s words.

He had been considering it ever since his sparring match with Frostedge. But he knew it wouldn’t be easy—at least, not unless he truly understood what this man was looking for in the game.

From their conversation, it was clear that Frostedge had one goal—to explore all of Yunatea without being tied down by anything.

Maybe that was exactly why he had never formed any lasting connections with anyone.

Frostedge didn’t want to be burdened by anyone, nor did he want to be a burden to others. His journey was bound to be difficult, filled with obstacles, and he had deliberately chosen to walk that path alone.

Then again, the fact that he had survived this long—even without the support of a guild, allies, or even summons—only proved one of two things. Either his Class and Blessing were that powerful, or he was simply that talented.

Maybe… it was both. And honestly? That wouldn’t be too surprising for him.

Well… Leon would bring up the topic once he defeated him in the Final Match. And yes—he had to win the final!

“I’ll try talking to him,” he said simply, closing the discussion with everyone.

And with that, the conversation about Divine Champions—as well as their plans to strengthen Vensalor and the Dissidia Kingdom—came to an end.

Even though this was meant to be just a fun party, none of them could resist discussing the game. It felt strange in a way—usually, these conversations happened while they were inside the game, speaking as their characters.

But this time, they were talking about it as themselves—in real life.

The party continued with casual discussions, ranging from general chatter to sharing tips and tricks about the game. Some even threw around ideas about planning a vacation together for the entire guild or organizing another offline gathering every once in a while.

Leon simply went with the flow, quietly appreciating how much everyone seemed to enjoy this kind of offline meet-up. It was something that probably wouldn’t have happened if the Eternal Challenge hadn’t been held.

In the end, the main purpose of this grand event had been fulfilled—bringing players together. People who had only ever communicated in-game were now meeting face-to-face. Considering how difficult it was to coordinate schedules for such a large group, this kind of gathering was truly a rare occasion.

And with that, the fantastic dinner came to an end.

“The Team Battle is definitely going to be a match that draws a massive audience!”

Brando eagerly brought up the upcoming match, which had been generating a lot of excitement—especially with its schedule fast approaching.

He continued explaining the rules. “As previously announced, the battleground for this Team Battle will take place on an island, where multiple Key Zones will be up for control. The team that manages to hold these Key Zones for the longest total duration will be declared the winner. Of course, everyone knows that eliminating other teams will make this task much easier. So yeah, it’s bound to be a massive battle.”

With a look of enthusiasm, Brando then turned toward Paul, who had been analyzing the match closely.

“Well, there are several teams considered favorites in this Team Battle. So, it’s only natural that those with the highest chance of winning will become the primary targets,” Paul remarked.

Brando nodded. “I guess some teams won’t be able to avoid this kind of fate, huh? What do you think? Would keeping a low profile be the best approach? That way, they could gather intel and strike only when their opponents start to let their guard down.”

Paul responded with a faint smile. “Well, unfortunately, many players and teams have already gained a lot of recognition throughout the tournament. I hope they’re preparing strategies to counter whatever their opponents might throw at them. Forming alliances to survive the early phases and then negotiating how to split the final victory might be their best move.

“Besides that, we also know that most of the participants in this contest are combat-type players. And with the number of Divine Champions and High-Grade Class Wielders involved, we can expect a truly grand battle. This won’t just be about one-on-one fights—it’s going to be a chaotic team battle, where multiple teams could clash at the same time.”

“That’s definitely going to make for a grand battle!” Brando exclaimed, then turned toward the camera.

“Now, we want to hear from you! Show your support and share your predictions—who do you think will come out on top? Do you have a favorite team competing? Or maybe a favorite player? Or are YOU one of the challengers stepping into this battlefield? I hope you’ve prepared your best strategies, because this is going to be super bombastic!”
