Lingering Doting Marriage: Big Boss, Little Sweet Heart

Chapter 1914 - 1924: Asking Her Out

Chapter 1914: Chapter 1924: Asking Her Out

Enna Clark made three servings of tomato and egg noodles in total, which is why it took so long.

She pushed two larger bowls in front of the handsome man and Scott Harris, and placed the smaller bowl in front of Bobby’s designated seat, smiling as she said to Scott, "Sorry for the wait."

Damn it! He had waited for a long time too!

Baron Lawrence’s face looked a bit displeased, but he said nothing.

Scott Harris was flattered and quickly waved his hands, "Ms. Clark, I don’t eat, there’s no need to prepare for me."

"You’ve already had breakfast?" Enna asked him in surprise.

Scott stammered, "No, but this is against the rules... I..."

"Sit down, eat!" Baron Lawrence frowned, giving a simple and blunt command.

His simple and blunt order was more effective than anything Enna said; the uneasy Scott promptly sat down. However, he sat stiffly, as if he didn’t know where to place his hands and feet.

Bobby had already washed his hands and came out, nimbly hopping into his seat, picking up his chopsticks, glancing at the bowl in front of Baron Lawrence across from him. He looked at his own obviously smaller bowl with a bit of gloom. But he understood that his current appetite couldn’t yet compare to Baron Lawrence’s, so though he felt a bit down, he didn’t childishly demand an equal share. Instead, he picked up his chopsticks and greeted Scott, "Uncle Harris, let’s eat together. The tomato and egg noodles my mummy makes are the best. You’ll know once you try."

Enna was embarrassed by his praise and quickly said, "It’s nothing special, I can only cook this, and the taste is just average. Mr. Harris, don’t listen to him."

Scott picked up his chopsticks, tasted it, and gave a thumbs up in praise, "Ms. Clark, it’s delicious."

Even though she knew Scott was just humoring her, seeing her food being appreciated still gave Enna a faint sense of satisfaction.

The Lawrence family always ate in silence, sitting properly.

Enna also quietly refrained from making conversation, watching them finish eating before she got up to collect the bowls.

"Ms. Clark, let me help," Scott quickly went over to lend a hand.

Enna smiled and dodged his gesture, saying, "It’s okay, it’s just collecting dishes, I can handle it."

"How is that acceptable?"

"I used to work as a server abroad, and I’m great at collecting and washing dishes. It’s just a few bowls, I can be done in minutes." She spoke casually, as if making small talk.

Baron Lawrence, however, was reminded of the days when she was bullied by the Clark family.

Enna quickly collected the bowls, washed them, and came back out. Bobby happened to be carrying his backpack, heading to his room. Running into her, he immediately said, "Lady, I’m sleepy, I’m going to bed first. Don’t disturb me, huh."

"Take a shower before you sleep."

"Got it." Bobby yawned and entered the bedroom.

Once inside, he immediately clicked the door shut.

Seemed like he didn’t want anyone to come in.

Enna frowned slightly, finding it a bit odd. In the past, when Bobby wanted to sleep, he would always cling to her for a story or insist that she accompany him to watch some TV series. Today, not only did he not make a fuss, he also obediently went in by himself and even shut the door right after entering...this wasn’t like his usual behavior.

She was still lost in thought, wondering what was up with Bobby.

Suddenly, her wrist was grabbed. The man who had been calm from the moment she opened the door was suddenly in front of her, holding her wrist, "Enna Clark, change clothes, and come with me to a place."
