Chapter 6375: Spirit Sword Reverent’s Tomb
“Don’t worry, Chu Feng. I am here. It doesn’t matter what monsters lurk inside these tombs. It’ll be best if they obediently stay put, but if they dare to mess with you, I’ll make sure to grind them into dust!” Eggy hurled her little fists confidently.
There was a tinge of excitement in her voice. She seemed to look forward to crossing blows with the Immemorial Era’s old monsters.
“What’s there to fear when my Eggy is here? But you mustn’t use that power of yours carelessly. Your safety comes first,” Chu Feng reminded.
“I know, I know. I haven’t lived long enough yet. I know what I’m doing, so you don’t need to worry about me,” Eggy replied.
“Are you sure?” Chu Feng sounded skeptical.
All of a sudden, Chu Feng’s face darkened, and he hastened his footsteps.
He had already been moving at his fastest speed in his normal state. To accelerate further than that meant putting a toll on his body.
“What’s wrong, Chu Feng?” Eggy asked, sensing something was amiss.
“My connection with my grandmother has been severed,” Chu Feng replied.
“Severed? How? Is there a formation preventing you from sensing your grandmother?” Eggy asked.
“I don’t sense anything of that sort, but my connection with my grandmother still got severed anyway—and it’s a thorough severing,” Chu Feng said.
“Don’t worry, Chu Feng. Your grandmother is strong. She’ll be fine. Could your grandmother have entered an isolation formation?” Eggy consoled.
There could only be two possibilities.
The first possibility was what Eggy postulated: his grandmother had entered an isolation formation, making it impossible for him to continue pinpointing his grandmother’s location.
The second possibility was disastrous: the formation he had implanted in his grandmother had been erased. If his grandmother were going to erase it, she would have done so a long time ago instead of waiting so long. It was more likely that someone else had erased that formation.
And that was what Chu Feng was worried about.
Fortunately, he remembered his grandmother’s last location.
When he finally arrived at the pinpointed location, he realized it was at a tombstone. It was one of the smaller tombstones in the Immemorial Cemetery, but it was still comparable to a realm.
The tombstone was imposing, boasting a massive size and a majestic presence. On top of that, it emanated a faint light. There were words on the tombstone.
Tomb of the Spirit Sword Reverent.
“There’s a name on this tombstone. What could this mean?” Eggy asked.
The tombstones they passed by along the way were empty. This was the first tombstone they saw that carried a name.
“Someone might have cleared this tombstone’s remnant,” Chu Feng replied as he continued flitting toward the tombstone.
It didn’t matter to him whether someone had cleared the remnant or not; he had to get to the bottom of why his grandmother’s signal had ended here.
As he drew close to the tombstone, the tombstone suddenly vanished, and he found himself surrounded by a thick fog.
It was a formation!
It turned out that the tombstone was projected by a formation. The situation inside must be very different.
Passing through the fog, he found himself entering a vast realm. It was a beautiful world that contrasted against its sinister tombstone outer appearance. There were majestic mountains and flowing rivers, chirping birds, rare plants, and spirit beasts that Chu Feng had never seen before.
The spirit beasts possessed cultivation, but they were incapable of human speech. They appeared to be animals who had been residing inside this tombstone realm. Some of them were treasures from head to toe, including their fur, bones, blood, and flesh.
Though they weren’t of much use to Chu Feng at his current cultivation.
“I can faintly sense my grandmother’s location now.” Chu Feng breathed a sigh of relief.
He couldn’t help but be worried about his grandmother despite knowing how powerful she was. If he could sense her again, the chances were that she had entered an isolation formation here.
To avoid unnecessary trouble, he remained concealed and even reinforced his concealment formation.
As he ventured deeper into the realm, he noticed some familiar figures.
A group from the Heavensword Sacred Palace was busy catching spirit beasts, presumably for their sect members’ cultivation.
The deeper he went, the more people from the Heavensword Sacred Palace he spotted. Some were catching spirit beasts, some were harvesting herbs, and some were exploring the area.
“There are quite a few of them here. Were they the ones who activated this tombstone?” Eggy asked.
“It’s possible,” Chu Feng replied.
“Is the Heavensword Sacred Palace this formidable?” Eggy asked.
“They must be quite capable if they can activate this tombstone.”
Chu Feng ventured further into the realm and spotted an eerie fog in the distance.
The fog extended to the sky, forming a wall that sealed off the area. This fog emitted a dangerous aura that seemed to warn them against advancing further. Bizarre noises would echo from it now and then; it sounded jarring like fingernails scratching a wall.
Chu Feng’s grandmother was inside the fog.
“Oh? A familiar face,” Eggy remarked.
There was a majestic altar in front of the fog. The altar was surrounded by a formation, but the formation had been breached, and many members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace were gathered on top of the altar.
Among them was Tianjian Canhua.
“Looks like they were the ones who activated this realm,” Chu Feng said.
The formation around the altar was extremely difficult to breach, and the altar was a legacy formation. The members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace were gathered on the altar, waiting to inherit the legacy.
However, it would appear that the Heavensword Sacred Palace hadn’t fully activated the legacy formation.
