Chapter 6389: The Shocked Jie Mubai

They immediately set off after coming to a decision.

The further they were from the earlier tombstone realm, the more spectacular it looked. A humongous light halo shrouded the realm, looking brighter than most stars.

Despite having its legacy claimed, the tombstone realm looked much more divine than before, overshadowing all other realms they passed by along the way. It was as if it wanted everyone to see it.

“Could that tombstone realm be related to the Seven Stars Orb?” Eggy asked.

Chu Feng observed the tombstone realm with his Heaven’s Eyes. He realized that the tombstone realm harnessed extraordinary energy that was waiting to blow up.

“That could be one of the Seven Stars. We might have to wait for all Seven Stars to emerge to truly understand what’s going on,” Chu Feng replied.

“Is this considered a trial? Will that humongous thing give you some reward if you clear it?” Eggy asked.

“I hope so,” Chu Feng replied with a smile, but he didn’t expect much.

The Immemorial Cemetery still felt as enigmatic and sinister as before, and so was the humongous entity he encountered in that bizarre space.

A while later, Chu Feng sat down to cultivate. He relayed their destination to the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief and entrusted the navigation to the latter.

He was cultivating not to raise his cultivation. He had reached a level where it would take him extremely long to make a breakthrough if he cultivated normally. What he needed more were impetuses and fortuitous encounters.

Besides, raising his cultivation by a rank or two wouldn’t help them much in a place like the Immemorial Cemetery.

He was cultivating toward something else. This had been the case since God’s Era emerged.

...

The Immemorial Cemetery was as vast as the world of cultivation. It contained countless tombstones, each one containing a massive realm.

Within it was a tombstone realm that looked ordinary on the surface, but within it, everything emanated a faint luster. The space was suffused with an extremely old aura. The realm was a humongous formation, and at its center was a gigantic, glowing tomb serving as the formation core.

A person stood before the tombstone—Jie Mubai.

He had arrived here some time back. To his delight, he discovered that this world didn’t just contain a simple legacy. It was likely connected to the core of the Immemorial Cemetery. If he could decipher the tombstone, he might be able to unravel the secret behind it.

He had already made some progress in the deciphering. He formed a hand seal and released his spirit power. It didn’t take long for his little body to unleash enough spirit power to suffuse the entire realm.

He changed his hand seal, and his spirit power manifested into a humongous formation that made the tombstone look small in comparison. This was the prowess of a Heavenly Dragon World Spiritist.

He didn’t activate the formation right away.

Instead, he flicked his wrist and whipped out ten talisman papers emanating the Ancient Era’s aura. He tossed them at his formation’s ten formation cores, causing his formation to become even stronger.

“Activate!” Jie Mubai roared.

His formation finally whirred into action. His spirit power relentlessly washed over the tombstone, till the tombstone finally reacted.

Countless runes emerged from the tombstone like billions of fishes swimming freely in the sky. The key to deciphering this formation was to order these runes in the right sequence. This was a highly time-consuming activity, but Jie Mubai’s smile further deepened.

“Chu Feng, you mocked my fortuitous encounters for being so-so, but I’m still the one claiming this treasure. I’m sure you can decipher this formation too, but you don’t have the strength to conquer this land. This is life. This is fate. The Immemorial Cemetery’s fortuitous encounter is destined to be mine, Jie Mubai’s!” Jie Mubai declared excitedly.

It couldn’t be clearer that the Immemorial Cemetery’s fortuitous encounter was a huge deal.

But Jie Mubai’s eyes soon widened as he looked outside the realm.

“Who is it?”

He had constructed a formation around the realm to detect if anyone was in the vicinity, and the reaction he was getting unnerved him. He sensed several powerful auras, including ones above his.

“I guess the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion’s world spiritists aren’t too shabby. You noticed us even from a distance away,” the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief said from afar.

Several warships descended into the realm.

“The Huangfu Heavenly Clan?”

Jie Mubai frowned when he noticed the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s flags on the warship. Jie Tianran had once killed a Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Heavenly God level cultivator, which meant there was a grudge between them. He hurriedly said, “I was from the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion, but I have left it for many years now. If you’re here for vengeance, you’re knocking on the wrong door.”

“Hahahaha!” The Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief burst into laughter.

The Huangfu Heavenly Clansmen laughed mockingly as well.

“Who could have thought the famous Jie Mubai would be a coward?” the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief sneered.

But Jie Mubai remained unfazed. He calmly explained, “I am merely speaking the truth.”

“Jie Mubai, our Huangfu Heavenly Clan didn’t come here to settle our scores with the Seven Realms Sacred Mansion. We came here to settle the scores with you,” the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief said.

“Settle the scores with me?” Jie Mubai was confused.

“You offended someone you shouldn’t have.”

Jie Mubai frowned. Who did I offend? I don’t recall ever offending anyone from the Huangfu Heavenly Clan.

Just then, several more warships entered the realm. These warships were from the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion.

Jie Mubai’s face quickly distorted. Chu Feng was on one of the warships, standing beside the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion’s Mansion Master and Yuwen Yanri!

“Chu Feng?!” Jie Mubai’s face twisted in anger.

It finally dawned on him that the Huangfu Heavenly Clan was here to support Chu Feng.

“Oh? You didn’t notice me approaching despite having locked onto me? Ah, I get it. You can only sense me if you actively channel your treasure, right?” Chu Feng asked with a smile.

He had told the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief to enter the tombstone realm ahead of him to avoid alarming Jie Mubai. From the looks of it now, his worry was unfounded.

“Chu Feng, I’ve underestimated you. You have the backing of not just the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion but an Ancient Era’s power, too. But you should have known that the Ancient Era’s powers view us, present-era world spiritists, with enmity. How can you join hands with them? How can you call yourself a present-era world spiritist?” Jie Mubai sneered.

“I judge people by their character, not their affiliation. Jie Mubai, you are a disgrace to all present-era world spiritists,” Chu Feng scoffed.

“Chu Feng, should I capture that man alive or kill him straight?” the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief asked.

“Kill him. He has some good stuff on him. We can split them equally,” Chu Feng replied.

But Jie Mubai abruptly vanished, though his voice echoed, “Chu Feng, you said my fortuitous encounter is so-so, but I wonder if you can stop me from escaping.”

The Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief hurriedly enveloped the realm with his martial power, but he couldn’t find any traces of Jie Mubai at all.
