“Are you two still doing fine?” Chu Feng asked.

“I’m fine. I don’t know if it’s due to my lacking intelligence or that the fortuitous encounter is insufficient, but the martial enlightenment contained inside the runes doesn’t seem to be potent. I don’t think I’ll be anywhere close to a breakthrough even if I decipher everything,” Huangfu Shengyu said.

“I can hold on,” Yuwen Yanri replied concisely.

“What you have experienced is the appetizer. The true show has yet to begin. If you two are feeling fine, I’ll begin the trial. Remember, don’t force yourself to hold on if you’re already at your limit,” Chu Feng said.

“What? We were eliminated even before the real trial began?” Huangfu Zhantian and the others were bewildered.

Huangfu Shengyu and Yuwen Yanri signalled that they were ready.

Chu Feng changed his hand seal, and the rune tornado further accelerated.

The faces of the crowd turned grim. The runes in the tornado manifested into a complete formation. Roaring aura bodies emerged and lunged at Chu Feng and the others. It turned out the roars they had heard earlier weren’t just from the winds!

These aura bodies dove through the bodies of Chu Feng and the others, inflicting mental damage on them.

Chu Feng’s face remained impassive as if unfazed. Yuwen Yanri frowned, but the mental attacks failed to shake him up. Huangfu Shengyu, however, looked increasingly strained as more aura bodies passed through his body.

“Damn it!”

Unwilling to give up, Huangfu Shengyu gritted his teeth and held on. Veins popped on his temples, his complexion turned ghastly pale, and his face scrunched from the pain. Killing intent even flared from him.

Even so, he refused to give up.

“Shengyu, don’t force yourself!” the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief shouted, fearing Huangfu Shengyu’s mind would crumble at this rate.

But Huangfu Shengyu seemed unable to hear him.

Flustered, the Huangfu Heavenly Clan’s Clan Chief tried exerting his martial power to drag Huangfu Shengyu out, but to his astonishment, his martial power dissipated when approaching the rune formation.

This left him with no choice but to personally head into the rune formation and drag Huangfu Shengyu out.

Before he could get close, an aura body flew over and passed through his body, causing his movements to immediately stop. His mind went blank, and he forgot about the danger his son was in.

“You do owe him a favor, but you’re thinking too much. Take a closer look. Even Yuwen Yanri is frowning now, but do you see the slightest crease on Chu Feng’s face?” Huangfu Zhantian said.

“He’s completely unfazed. What kind of willpower does he possess?!” someone from the Divine Body Heavenly Mansion exclaimed in disbelief.

Yuwen Yanri was constantly tortured by the Blazing Sun Divine Body before his complete assimilation of it, but that also tempered his willpower, allowing him to stand strong in the face of adversities.
