Chapter 6427: Inside the Gate

Chapter 6427: Inside the Gate

The crowd, including Chu Feng, felt their hearts clenching up.

They sensed an incredibly oppressive aura crushing down from the sky. It was not coming from this realm but further beyond, and it enveloped the entire Immemorial Cemetery.

Even Song Changsheng and Tianjian Qingyuan sensed it as well.

They were still on the path where they had found Chu Feng’s grandmother, just that they had ventured further in. The path had widened to the point where they couldn’t see where the sides ended anymore, but it was still apparent to them that it was a path.

Both of them were wielding weapons. There were beads of sweat on their faces.

The further they ventured into the path, the stronger the monsters they faced became. It would be a catastrophe if any of the monsters collapsed around them slip into the world of cultivation.

“That aura...” Tianjian Qingyuan frowned.

“We need to make haste, or else we’ll all die here.”

Song Changsheng immediately flitted forth. He was getting an ominous feeling, so he wanted to resolve the situation here as quickly as possible.

Tianjian Qingyuan followed him.

While journeying on this path, they realized that the deepest secrets of the Immemorial Cemetery could very well be hidden here. The Seven Stars Orbs might not be the only solution. If they uncovered the secret of this path, they might be able to save everyone.

Meanwhile, the other cultivators trapped in the Immemorial Cemetery panicked over the terrifying aura.

“Ugh! We’ll die at this rate. Let’s run!”

Some thought the pressure was triggered by Chu Feng entering the terrifying tombstone realm, so they wanted to flee as far as possible from it.

“It’s useless.”

The stronger and more knowledgeable cultivators shook their heads. They could tell the pressure extended throughout the Immemorial Cemetery. There was no escape for those trapped here.

“I knew the final star couldn’t have been that easy,” Chu Feng remarked with a sigh.

The pressure felt like a sharp sword pressed against their necks. If he couldn’t resolve this situation, everyone in the Immemorial Cemetery would be decapitated.

“Elder, how can I earn the qualification?” Chu Feng asked.

Despite there being many powerhouses present, none dared to speak after sensing the other party’s overwhelming aura because they feared losing their lives. Yet, Chu Feng dared speak to the other party with a normal voice that was neither arrogant nor subservient.

This courage transcended cultivation. Even Eighth Zhao was impressed, for he wouldn’t have dared to speak up.

“You’ll have to defeat me to earn the qualification,” the voice replied.

The fog receded to the sides, revealing a humongous spirit formation gate. An overwhelming aura seeped the spirit formation gate.

Rank five Heavenly God!

The Heavensword Sacred Palace’s Palace Master’s nervousness loosened up. The others breathed sighs of relief. A rank five Heavenly God level cultivator was indeed formidable, but they had rank five Heavenly God level cultivators on their side, too.

It was within their means to deal with.

So, the Palace Master turned to Chu Feng and asked, “Young friend Chu Feng, you can leave this to us.”

Chu Feng didn’t stand on ceremony. It was indeed beyond the means of juniors like them to deal with a rank five Heavenly God level cultivator.

“Zhao Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief, will you remain here or come with us?” the Palace Master asked.

“I’m here to help out. I’ll go with you,” Eighth Zhao said.

“Members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace, get into formation and follow me!” the Palace Master ordered.

The Heavensword Sacred Palace’s members formed hand seals, ready to activate the Heavensword Sacred Formation at any moment.

But the voice from the spirit formation gate echoed, “Are you going to challenge me? You only have two chances. Once you deplete both chances, all of you are going to die.”

The Palace Master and Eighth Zhao hesitated upon hearing those words. Those words were clearly a warning. They glanced around, but no one else was qualified to take on this challenge.

“Should we wait for my master to return?” Xian Miaomiao asked.

“Indeed. A rank five Heavenly God would be nothing to fear once Miss Miaomiao’s master returns.”

The others voiced their agreement.

On the fifth star, a terrifying gate had manifested out of nowhere, and a monster that was stronger than rank five Heavenly God level emerged from it. Yet, Song Changsheng subdued it with absolute ease. There was no question he could defeat a rank five Heavenly God as well.

Just then, an incense stick appeared on the formation.

“What does that mean?” someone asked out of confusion.

“W-w-what else can that mean? They aren’t giving us t-t-time to wait. We’ll die once time is u-u-up,” Wang Qiang scoffed.

The meaning behind the incense stick was not lost on anyone.

The Palace Master calmly looked at Eighth Zhao and asked, “Zhao Immortal Clan’s Clan Chief, do you still dare to step in?”

“What do I have to fear?” Eighth Zhao replied as he stepped forward.

The Palace Master also led the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s members forth.

Eighth Zhao entered the spirit formation gate, but the Palace Master stopped right before the gate and ordered, “All juniors are to stay behind.”

“Palace Master, the prowess of the Heavensword Sacred Formation depends on our bloodline. We can contribute as well,” Tianjian Canhua and the others said.

“We don’t know the situation inside. Someone has to stay behind to carry the torch for our Heavensword Sacred Palace if a mishap happens in there. This is an order,” the Palace Master said.

Since it was an order, Tianjian Canhua and the others had no choice but to stay behind.

The Palace Master led the other members into the spirit formation gate.

The next moment, they froze in place. Their confidence shattered, and their faces paled in horror. Some even collapsed to the floor out of sheer fright.
