Chapter 4847: Good Stuff
Chapter 4847: Good Stuff
The voice was suddenly followed by a pair of large hands that snatched the wrapped bag. Seeing her purchase stolen before her very eyes, Song Mi'er immediately rushed forward to grab it. However, the middle-aged man holding the bag quickly backed away. As he opened the bag, a surprised smile spread across his face upon seeing its contents.
"Oh, it's this!" He then pulled out a money bag and threw it at the man. "I'll buy this."
The man was taken aback. He looked at the money bag, then at Song Mi'er, and finally said apologetically to the middle-aged man, "Sir, I already sold these mushrooms to this lady."
"Is that so? Then I'll buy them from you," the middle-aged man said, looking at Song Mi'er before turning to leave with the mushrooms.
"Give me back my stuff!" Song Mi'er was furious. From seemingly nowhere, she produced a kitchen knife, grabbed it, and swung it forward. A sharp gust of wind whistled past the middle-aged man, who was startled and instinctively dodged. The kitchen knife whizzed past him and plunged into the ground.
"Give me back my things! Otherwise, don't even think about leaving!" Song Mi'er shouted, lunging forward to grab the bag from the middle-aged man's hand.
"You dare to fight me? You're looking for death!" the middle-aged man snorted, backing away. At that moment, two men in black jumped out from the shadows, blocking Song Mi'er's attack.
"You have help!" Song Mi'er gritted her teeth and brandished her own weapon.
"Am I seeing this right? Is that girl pulling out a frying pan? Can a frying pan really be used as a weapon?"
Witnessing the fight, some nearby onlookers stared in astonishment at the frying pan, which looked just like the ones in their kitchens.
"Why is that girl fighting with Chef Wei from Wei's Fragrant Restaurant? Chef Wei is a member of the Wei family. Everyone here knows him. Why doesn't she give him some face? They're just some spirit mushrooms. They're not a big deal. Is it worth offending Chef Wei?"
"Don't run! Give me back my stuff!" Song Mi'er shouted, growing anxious as she saw the middle-aged man turn and leave with her spirit mushrooms. Cloud Devouring, who had been overlooked because he looked like a small pet, glanced at Song Mi'er. Seeing that she was holding her own against the two men, he swiftly moved past her and rushed after the middle-aged man.
Meanwhile, the middle-aged man was walking back, happy with his find, completely unaware that a small pet—no, a mini version of a Super Sacred Beast—was following him. Cloud Devouring was in no hurry to attack. He followed the man as he turned left and right and entered an alley. Suddenly, he lunged from behind and kicked the man hard with his two hind legs.
"Ahhhhh!"
The middle-aged man cried out in surprise as he was sent flying by a tremendous force. The bag he was holding was snatched away, and he crashed into the alley wall, his head bleeding profusely. When he wiped the blood from his forehead and looked back, the alley was empty—not even a ghost was in sight. Even the bag of spirit mushrooms had vanished.
"Damn it! Who is it? Who dared to steal my things!"
He gritted his teeth in anger and roared, then stood up with the help of the wall and rushed out to chase after the thief, looking around but not knowing where to start. At that moment, Cloud Devouring was making its way back with the bag of spirit mushrooms in its mouth. It looked like a small, snow-white, chubby beast with a large bag in its mouth, drawing the attention of people on the street.
