Chapter 4892: Xiao Junheng
Chapter 4892: Xiao Junheng
The lion instinctively lunged at the object in its mouth after it roared. As snake blood spattered, the lion convulsed and collapsed.
“Thud!”
The heavy impact of the body hitting the ground startled both the youth and the lions.
“Rooooaaaaaar!”
The other lions roared at Yue’er, staring at the tiny human standing atop the lion’s back. Suddenly, they realized this human child seemed strangely familiar.
“Yaaah!”
Yue’er was flung from the lion’s back. Mid-air, she flipped gracefully and landed steadily. Just as the lion that had thrown her off prepared to pounce and kill the human child, its eyes suddenly narrowed. A flash of terror appeared in its gaze. With a low growl, it retreated swiftly, vanishing without a trace within mere breaths.
It recognized the aura of an ancient Sacred Beast emanating from this human child. They dared provoke anyone, but never such a human.
The boy gasped for breath, staring blankly and puzzled at the lions’ sudden flight, unable to fathom what had just occurred. But his bewilderment deepened when he saw the little girl run to the tree, pick up a segment of green snake carcass, slit it open with a dagger, and extract a jade-green snake gallbladder from within.
“Are you okay?”
He approached the girl, finding her face unfamiliar. She didn’t resemble any of the young members he knew from his clan. But then, his clan was large, and she was so young—it made sense he hadn’t met her before. Besides, how could any child from outside their clan possibly be here?
Thus, he naturally classified the little girl as a member of the Xiao family.
After putting away the gallbladder, Yue’er finally looked at the youth before her. Pointing to the wound on his body, she said, “You’re the one with the problem! You’re bleeding.”
How pathetic! She was so small, yet she hadn’t even gotten hurt or bled!
“Yeah, I’m hurt.” Xiao Junheng let out a soft sigh, leaning his back against a large tree as he sat down. He took out some medicine and sprinkled it onto his wound, then roughly bandaged it with gauze.
Bandaging it himself, he could only use his teeth, so he ended up tying it into a tight knot.
“Do you need help?” Yue’er asked, her pure eyes blinking innocently. She couldn’t bear watching him pour the medicine backward—most of it was spilling onto the ground.
“Yes.”
He handed her the medicine bottle while studying her. “Who brought you in here? Don’t you know children your age aren’t allowed in this place?”
“Why? I’m not hurt,” Yue’er replied. After sprinkling the medicine, she carefully bandaged his wound, finishing with a neat bow.
“There are too many fierce beasts in this forest, and many are incredibly powerful. Even I got injured—how much more so for a child as small as you.” He leaned against a tree to rest, keeping a watchful eye on his surroundings as he spoke with puzzlement. “Those lions earlier… I don’t know what happened, but they just ran off.”
Yue’er looked at him with a bright smile. “I may be small, but the fierce beasts don’t eat me.”
“Wait here. I’ll send word back and have my father send someone to escort you home.” He spoke, pulling out a communication jade tablet.
Yue’er looked at him, her smile unchanged. “You stay here! When they arrive, let them take you back. Otherwise, the lions might come back and eat you.”
