Originally a prototype marking the revival of a remnant from a bygone era, the blacksmith that first brought it to life had initially upgraded it to a level of reliability and lethality that would cause waves of shock to resound throughout the crowd that witnesses its might.
Now, with the blacksmith getting close to the origin of the craft, armed with the knowledge of ages past and the sight only given to those who tread near the Arcane Origin, this weapon has been reborn once more, taking on a form that is only a step away from the original image the blacksmith had when they first made it.
Though it utilizes a level of technology considered primitive beyond the confines of Veldanyr, it is still a state of the art weapon within it, achieving a level of lethality with immense ease that even a beginner who has only learned to use it once would be able to master it within days.
Of course, with the blacksmith’s horizons continuing to widen, it is only a matter of time before the weapon takes on its final form.
A form that reminds the blacksmith of their original home.
<Innate Skill 1: Will of the First Gunslinger – Having been with the First Gunslinger from its birth through thick and thin, this weapon now embodies the will the First Gunslinger wishes to achieve.
When equipped, this weapon increases all of the user’s stats by 5%.>
<Innate Skill 2: The First Gunslinger’s Rage – Embodying the infernal will of the First Gunslinger, this skill allows the user to infuse energy into the weapon, making the gunpowder loaded within the weapon more volatile, thereby increasing the lethality of the next shot.
The next shot deals 400% of the user’s Attack stat as damage. Has a small chance to deal twice the damage. Has an incredibly small chance to deal thrice the damage. Cooldown: 15 minutes. Cost: 25,000 MP.>
<Innate Skill 3: The First Gunslinger’s Wisdom – Embodying the composed will of the First Gunslinger, this skill allows the user to saturate the weapon with their energy, empowering all of the shots fired through the weapon for a certain duration.
For the next 5 minutes, the damage dealt by the weapon is increased by 25%. Cooldown: 1 hour. Cost: 75,000 MP.>
<Innate Skill 4: The First Gunslinger’s Patience – Embodying the tempered will of the First Gunslinger, this skill allows the user to ignite the gunpowder within the barrel in advance, giving the user the opportunity to condense its latent power with the help of energy. The longer the user condenses this power, the greater the resulting effects.
This skill allows the user to extend the charge of the attack between 200% to 1000% of the weapon’s cooldown time, increasing the final attack coefficient of the weapon by 20% to 100%. The increase is dependent on the duration. Cooldown: None. Cost: 25,000 – 100,000 MP.>
Remarks: A hallmark of technology. A blatant middle finger to the norms of the world.

“…Holy fuck.”
Shaking his head a couple of times whilst trying to wrap his head around what he just read, Valyr eventually closed the screen he brought up after reading through its contents a couple of times.
Though, just as he planned on bringing Ryvrthe back to reality after that, the young man decided to take a look at the flintlock’s description once more, only to be left with the same emotion he felt the first time he read it.
“Haah…” Fortunately, Valyr was able to quickly recover from his bewilderment after that, shaking his head once more as he closed the screen he brought up once and for all.
Then, without hesitation, he shook Ryvrthe as if it was the final task given to him by the heavens, forcing the latter to snap back to reality as his senses were forcefully jumbled up by the shaking.
“Stop… stop!” screamed the man, prompting the young man to put him down as he allowed the former to catch his breath.
“Huu…” Letting out a low exhale as he regained his bearings, Ryvrthe soon looked at Valyr with an aggrieved expression. “Did you really have to shake me that hard?”
The young man shrugged his shoulders in response. “You looked like you wouldn’t mind reading the item’s description forever.”
“Well…” Ryvrthe wryly smiled at those words. “After finally integrating myself with the system, the highest Attack stat I’ve seen on a weapon is only around the hundreds at most.”
“On the other hand, the fact that the firearm you upgraded is already close to reaching six digits is…”
“Insane.” Valyr nodded in agreement.
Although it could be said that the final skill of the flintlock was somewhat downgraded because of the upgrade, overall, the flintlock’s capabilities in dealing damage were greatly improved.
For one, the Attack stat was now almost four times higher than before. If it was paired with the new [The First Gunslinger’s Rage], there’s no doubt that Valyr would be able to deal an insane amount of damage with it.
Then again, that would just barely scratch the surface of what the weapon was capable of.
Instead, if he were to refine the weapon to its limit, raise its foundation to the 2nd Tier, use [The First Gunslinger’s Wisdom], [The First Gunslinger’s Patience], as well as the whole suite of buffs he had on hand, he was certain that the fight with Erika would have ended differently.
If he had access to that kind of firepower, he wouldn’t have even thought of asking Vaughn for help.
A single shot alone was all he would need to take care of it.
“Anyways, now that I’ve successfully upgraded my arquebus into a flintlock…” Seeing that Ryvrthe’s gaze remained glued towards the upgraded firearm, Valyr took it upon himself to stash the flintlock into his spatial bracelet for the meantime.
“What next?”
Briefly giving the young man an aggrieved look in response to his actions, the man let out a faint sigh as he sorted out his thoughts. “Well, it’s up to you, really.”
“We could keep forging flintlocks… but you don’t really have a need for it since you’re planning to use the snaplock mechanism for your request.”
“Other than that, it’s either we proceed with trying to forge a caplock firearm or trying to create an electric generator.”
“You know what?” Listening to the last two choices, Valyr’s eyes immediately gleamed with interest.
“How about we try making a caplock?”
Thinking about how successful he was on his first try at making a flintlock firearm, the young man thought that it would be far easier for him to make a caplock firearm.
After all, if he were to simplify it, the firearm itself was pretty much a glorified poking stick.
Surely it wouldn’t be that hard to make a bullet from scratch, right?
