Chapter 1631: Breaking Barriers: Beyond Dominion

Chapter 1631: Breaking Barriers: Beyond Dominion

“I see…” replied Ataraxia once more, faintly nodding as he committed the information to memory.

However, unlike in the realms of Refinement and Union, where he gave both a bit more thought, the young man decided to leave the realm of Dominion for some time later in the future.

After all, he hadn’t even truly achieved the realm of Union yet. If anything, he was just a short distance away from entering the realm Aeramis had mentioned.

On the other hand, he did not know where he stood on the realm of Refinement. Were his current combat abilities enough for him to be considered on the realm? Was he still a ways off from reaching the realm of Refinement?

With both of those, as well as the fact that he had still a long way to go before reaching the pinnacle of both realms, Ataraxia felt that it was better for him to focus on goals that he had the possibility of attaining rather than aim for a high and lofty goal, only to fail in the end.

Then again… although the man’s explanation on what separated Dominion from the other realms made a lot of sense, executing and comprehending it was an entirely different endeavor.

How would he go about integrating his combat abilities with his current environment? How would he assess if his integration with the environment had already reached the level necessary to enter the realm of Dominion?

…Would he even sense if he ever reached the realm of Dominion?

Placing those questions and similar trains of thought to the back of his head for now, the young man continued to earnestly listen to Aeramis’ explanation on the realms of combat, considering that this piece of knowledge greatly benefited him and his plans later down the line.

In fact, Ataraxia began to look at the man with immense gratitude after hearing the latter delve into the realm of Refinement in more detail, seeing as it was the realm of combat he had not yet trekked upon.

Eventually, the man’s explanation came to an end, with the young man ending up far more knowledgeable on the realms of combat than ever before.

Because of this newfound knowledge, he felt that, aside from the man in front of him, he was now the foremost expert regarding the matter within the world of Veldanyr.

Then again… who among the players would have knowledge of this concept in the first place?

“Now that I think about it… although I’ve mentioned that Dominion is the highest realm of combat according to what I know, it is not the actual highest realm of combat,” said Aeramis after concluding his explanation, prompting the young man to raise his eyebrow in curiosity.

Seeing that he had caught the latter’s attention, the man continued, “As far as I’ve heard, there are beings out there who have not only shown superb skill efficiency, but have also integrated all aspects of combat, as well as their environment into a singular entity.”

“The last time I received news of a being like that, they had the upper ground against a group of over 2,000 people, eventually forcing the latter to admit defeat as their reputation became renowned throughout their galaxy.”

“…Seriously?” answered Ataraxia in response, his expression a mix of disbelief and doubt as he looked at the man with a bewildered gaze.

If he were to hear of a situation where a being was able to hold his own against a group of a few dozen people, he would easily believe it, considering that something like that was possible after one reached the pinnacle of Union.

Even hearing of a being that could stand on the same ground as a group of over a hundred people would still be understandable to the young man, especially if Aeramis were to mention that they had achieved the realm of Dominion.

Yet for a being that had exceeded the realm of Dominion to be able to fight against a group of over 2,000 people while still having the upper ground…

Wasn’t that just a bit too far-fetched?

’Then again… reaching the Divine level already exposes you to a lot of absurd things,’ thought Ataraxia to himself, recalling the various memories from his past life during that stage of the game.

After the man shared a few more bits of information about the realm of combat beyond Dominion, it was only did the young man take the opportunity to look at the upgrade Aeramis did to his title.

Of course, even after some time had already passed since then, Ataraxia still couldn’t believe the man had done that. “Is it really fine for you to upgrade my title even though I didn’t reach the limit of the fourth trial?”

“Of course it’s fine.” Hearing those words, Aeramis let out a bit of laughter. “After all, I’m the creator of the inheritance. It’s still up to me whether or not the mechanics of the trials change.”

“Plus, with your performance in the inheritance thus far being the greatest I’ve ever witnessed throughout all of the beings that have tackled my inheritance, I’d say that this small action of mine is just an additional reward.”

Seeing as the creator of the inheritance himself truly did not mind flouting the rules for him, the young man eventually let go of the guilt he felt towards the matter as he brought up the description of the upgraded title in front of him.

Ding!

’A 2% increase on all of its effects,’ inwardly muttered the young man to himself, faintly nodding as he read through the title’s description a couple more times.

After seeing that the final statement on the title’s description had been changed to include Aeramis’ decision to give him the upgrade, the young man had a faint smile on his face as he closed the screen, clenching his fists for a bit to get a rough idea of how much his combat strength increased.

Then, utilizing a few of the movements from his personal movement skill, he had a rough idea of how much his movement and reaction speed had improved.

“All good?” asked Aeramis after he was done checking, to which the latter nodded in response.

“Alright.” Nodding in return, the man went ahead and began to dismantle the makeshift arena that served as the venue of the fourth trial that just finished.

At the same time, Aeramis began to explain the mechanics of the fifth trial to the young man.
