Chapter 1705: A Meeting Between Universes (2)

“…Oho?”

Though Eve released the entirety of her aura in a bid to intimidate the two old men that had come to meet them, the old man she had been talking to earlier looked as if the aura hadn’t affected him at all.

Briefly glancing at the one that came along with him, a faint calm smile soon appeared on the old man’s face as he responded to her words.

“Please rest assured. We truly bear no ill will whatsoever.”

Sweeping his gaze across the three, he continued with a slight shrug, “Then again, if we did, a meeting wouldn’t have been arranged between both of our universes in the first place.”

“Speaking of which, are any of my words incomprehensible?” the old man asked, his gaze focused on both Adam and Eve.

“Though both of us have already been briefed by Sir Azazel on your universe’s language, I must admit that there are still some words that I struggle to wrap my head around.”

Feeling the utter sincereness the old man was exuding in the way he spoke, Adam and Eve looked at each other for a bit before concluding that there was no point becoming overly vigilant any further.

Inwardly taking in a deep breath to compose himself, Adam took the question as an opportunity, responding to the old man’s question with an appreciative smile. “We can understand you quite well, actually. Thank you for your efforts.”

“No worries.” Sensing that the attitude of the group had finally changed thanks to his words, the old man returned a smile of his own, letting out a slight chuckle soon after. “It’s the least we could do to show our sincerity as the ones visiting.”

“However, I must say… we definitely weren’t expecting to be greeted by beings at the Celestial Ancestor level. It’s an honor.”

“Celestial Ancestor level?” Eve raised her eyebrow at those words.

Then, moving closer towards Azazel, she asked in a whisper, “I’m guessing that’s the name they have for one of our realms of power?”

“The Primordial level,” replied Azazel, which prompted the former to look back at him with slightly widened eyes. “What we call those at the Primordial level are more commonly known in their universe as Celestial Ancestors.”

“I see.” Hearing that, Eve nodded in understanding, only to then notice that the old man was looking at the two of them. “It seems that you have something to say about the matter, uh… Sir…”

“Mimir.” The old man slightly grinned in response, not minding that it took this long for both sides to start introducing themselves. “Mimir from the Realm of Myths’ Asgard Sector.”

“Anyways, to shed a bit more light towards the surprise I felt earlier, I suppose it would be best for me to go over the realms of power from our universe.”

Eve faintly nodded in response, as if she was giving her agreement for him to continue.

Nodding in return, Mimir cleared his throat as he sorted out the thoughts in his head. “Back when our universe was in its golden age, beings were classified into four major realms of existence.”

“Those four major realms are called Mortal, Immortal, Celestial, and Celestial Ancestor, respectively.”

“Though some beings in our universe started off with their realm of existence above the Mortal level, as time passed, it could be said that those born at the Mortal level in our universe were the majority.”

“How about the two of you?” asked Adam in return, his interest towards the topic somewhat piqued. “Were you the former or the latter?”

“The former,” replied Mimir, which prompted the old man beside him to nod in agreement. “To be more specific, the two of us were already at the pinnacle of the Immortal level when we were born.”

“However, that did not mean we neglected the need to obtain greater strength,” he said, his gaze slightly nostalgic.

“Knowing that many beings during our time were born at the Celestial level or higher, it went without saying that we spent a lot of effort pushing our strength to where it stands today.”

“In fact, the efforts we have put into pushing our strengths to higher tiers have culminated into the path the majority had taken in our universe’s golden age.”

Though a sense of pride welled up within him as he continued to reminisce about the past, Mimir eventually let out a faint sigh, pulling himself back to reality.

“A shame that the all-encompassing energy in our universe disappeared just as new Celestial Ancestors were starting to emerge.”

Remaining silent for a bit after that, the old man soon realized that his explanation intended on a specific term had instead turned into something else.

Realizing this, Mimir went ahead and swerved the conversation back towards their initial topic. “In any case, nothing needs to be said for the Mortal level since it’s self-explanatory.”

“On the other hand, those at the Immortal level are capable of wielding powers and abilities beyond the realm of the strongest humans,” he said to them. “Aside from the lifespans being far longer than mortals, they have also begun to comprehend some of the universe’s secrets.”

“So, it’s the Myth level,” muttered Eve, nodding in understanding.

“As for Celestials, the name pretty much explains the capabilities of such beings,” continued Mimir. “Having fully comprehended a facet of the universe’s secrets, they use this power to both expand their strength and lifespan to greater heights.”

“At the pinnacle of this realm, it could be said that all of the laws of the universe bow to their every whim, giving them the ability to live until the death of the universe if they wanted to.”

“Sounds a lot like the Divine level,” Adam could not help but say amidst the old man’s explanation, to which Eve faintly nodded in agreement.

“And that leaves us with the Celestial Ancestor level,” said Mimir, his expression solemn as he briefly glanced at the two that had reached that exact level.

“Though the strongest among Celestials wills all of the universe’s laws to listen to them, Celestial Ancestors take that concept one step further, comprehending a facet of the universe unique to themselves that would allow them to rival the strength of an entire universe with ease.”

“With that being said, since their comprehension towards these facets now rival the strength of an entire universe, it goes without saying that they have the means to create these universes themselves.”

“If not for that ability, they wouldn’t have been called Celestial Ancestors in the first place.”
