Chapter 915: Leaving The Empire
Chapter 915: Leaving The Empire
“Oh? What do you want to discuss, Princess Nerith?” Yuan asked, looking at her with a smile on his face.
’She has been looking for my darling? Way to go, darling… it seems I’ll gain another daughter-in-law in a couple of days…’ Anna Grace thought while looking at Yuan with a small mischievous grin on her face.
“You should already know the situation of our empire, correct?” she asked, settling herself on the sofa.
“Indeed. I heard from your brother about the situation, and it’s not good for your empire,” Yuan replied, nodding his head. “Over a million undead creatures are heading toward the border. Things will get very bad within a week or two.”
“You’re well informed, Yuan. That’s a good thing, or else I would have had to explain everything from the start,” Nerith smiled, surprised by his knowledge of the empire’s current situation.
“So, what do you want to discuss? Is it something related to the war?” he then asked, raising his brows slightly as he looked at her with curiosity.
“It is exactly as you have guessed, Yuan. It’s related to the war,” Nerith nodded and said, “I would like to ask for your help in the war. The strength of the undead is extraordinary; we need every capable person on our side to fight them.”
“Hmm, don’t worry. We will aid you in the war. I have already given my word to your brother,” Yuan replied with a smile.
“Oh, I see… I thought that moron hadn’t asked you. It seems he still has some sense,” Nerith sighed, feeling a wave of relief wash over her mind and body.
’With his help, there will be fewer casualties on our side. And besides, I still don’t know how powerful his companions are,’ she thought, her expression easing.
She was no fool; she could clearly tell that Yuan’s companions were also incredibly strong and possessed vast amounts of spiritual energy within their bodies.
“By the way, Princess Nerith, I also have something to ask,” Yuan said to her.
“What is it?” she asked, raising her brows slightly.
With a smile on his face, he said, “I heard from your brother that you’ll be heading to the other nations tomorrow. Would you mind if we tag along with you?”
“Can I know the reason? Why do you want to go to the other nations?” she asked.
“We just want to look around the continent, nothing too serious,” Yuan replied with a smile. “Since you will be traveling to seek cooperation for the war, I thought we should accompany you.”
“Furthermore, I know you don’t have time to waste. If you bring us along, we can reach the Vampire Kingdom within just a few minutes. It’s much faster than your usual method of travel,” Yuan explained.
“You’re indeed right. I don’t really have time to spare. It would be amazing if we could reach the Vampire Kingdom even within half a day,” Nerith replied, sighing softly.
After looking at him for a few seconds, she smiled. “Since you’ve given me a way to save time on travel, who am I to refuse? Alright, you may come with me.”
“That’s great. So when do we leave?”
“Tomorrow morning. Get some good rest tonight—we will leave right after breakfast,” Nerith replied before leaving Yuan and his wives in the room.
The following morning, after breakfast, Yuan and the others headed out of the palace after informing Rhex and Varia about their departure.
Outside, Nerith had already been waiting for them. She looked beautiful, as she wasn’t wearing any armor today, and the outline of her graceful figure was clearly visible beneath her dress.
“You look different today, Princess Nerith,” Yuan said with a smile, complimenting her attire.
“Thank you. I usually don’t wear such clothes, but since I’ll be visiting other nations as a diplomat, I made some changes to my appearance,” she replied with a smile.
“Shall we leave then?” he asked before pulling out the Empyreal Oblivion from his system storage.
As soon as she noticed the massive sword appearing in Yuan’s hand out of nowhere, her eyes widened in surprise.
“H-How did you do that?! How did you summon this sword from thin air?!” she asked, her eyes wide open in disbelief.
“It’s a secret,” Yuan chuckled softly before tossing the sword into the air.
Suddenly, he grabbed Nerith by the waist and jumped onto the sword, standing atop it as the blade froze in place midair.
Nerith was shocked!
Just a moment ago she had been standing on the ground, and the next second she found herself standing on Yuan’s massive sword while his arms were wrapped around her waist.
“This is your first time riding a sword. I’m making sure you don’t fall, as we will be traveling at an unbelievable speed,” Yuan spoke very close to her ear, so close that she could feel his breath.
A chill ran through her entire body as she felt Yuan holding her from behind. A very strange sensation stirred within her as her heart began to beat faster.
’Too close! He is just too close to me!’ she screamed inwardly as she felt her cheeks growing warmer.
Her entire body froze in place, and she couldn’t help but remain still. She had never been so close to a man before, yet she felt a warmth she had never experienced.
’Is this what it feels like to be close to a man… it’s not bad at all… it’s comfortable… is it because of him? Am I really falling for him?’ she questioned herself, becoming completely oblivious to the fact that she was flying.
Yuan’s wives also flew alongside him, keeping a very close eye on him—especially since he was carrying Nerith with his hands wrapped firmly around her.
’The Princess isn’t objecting even though he is holding her like that… it seems she has truly developed feelings for him,’ Anna Grace thought with a smirk.
Within the next few minutes, they had already traveled hundreds of kilometers, passing through multiple regions.
“Such incredible speed… No wonder you managed to cross the mysterious storm barrier so easily…” Nerith said, stunned.
“We can go even faster. However, that kind of speed is not something your body could handle. The current speed is already your limit,” Yuan replied with a smile.
“What?! We’re already moving far faster than I ever imagined! And you’re saying we could go even faster?!” She turned her head to look at him, her expression filled with shock.
“What can I say? I’m far more awesome than you can imagine,” Yuan said with a proud smile.
After almost half an hour, they entered a region of the continent shrouded in darkness, where sunlight could not reach.
“Strange… How did it suddenly become dark?” Julie asked in confusion, looking around with a puzzled expression.
“We’ve entered the territory of the Vampire Kingdom. It is always surrounded by darkness… no sunlight can reach this place,” Nerith responded with a serious look on her face.
