Chapter 1605: Gary Bluebird
Chapter 1605: Gary Bluebird
The man who had appeared was wearing extravagant, shining armor. It was made of a silver metal but seemed to shine so bright that it almost looked white. A trim on the outside made it appear as if it was gold, providing a luxurious contrast to the brilliant silver. Then, right at the front, something they hadn’t seen on any of the other knights before, was a red marking that looked almost like a print of a dragon.
It was the same symbol of the Red Wing kingdom. The fact that this person was the first one they had seen wearing the symbol, prominently displayed on his armor, they knew it was a big deal. The armor itself marked him as someone of extraordinary authority.
The man appeared to be around his fifties, yet his body and aura were strong just from him standing there. His blonde hair was ragged on either side of his head, with parts of it graying which was showing his age. Yet, not a single person there would think of this man as a weak old man, and immediately the others felt it as well, a crushing, undeniable sense of power.
‘That has to be the legendary figure they were talking about right?’ Kai thought, his mind racing to put the pieces together. ‘That’s the other Gary, Gary Bluebird.’
With Gary Bluebird having arrived, he looked at the entire scene, assessing the conflict with a quick, practiced glance. He could see a young Green haired man with several fallen men around him, and one of those men had a crushed arm, wriggling in agonizing pain.
Then there was a large, older man next to a blonde one. One knight was on the ground while the others had their weapons drawn, poised and wary, as if they were in the middle of a fight that had only momentarily paused.
“First we need to quell this entire situation, and make sure no one gets any idea of putting up a fight,” Bluebird said, his voice carrying an innate authority as he drew his sword with slow, deliberate precision.
Kai quickly braced himself, his muscles tensing, ready for what was about to happen, a massive charge, a rush of force to overwhelm them.
However, instead of rushing forward, or running ahead, instead Bluebird had just walked over. He did so peacefully, his sword still right by his hand, until he was relatively close to Kai.
Suddenly, Kai moved to the side, violently stepping out of the way. He panicked and immediately stopped. Everyone watching was left confused; there was no visible attack from Bluebird, there wasn’t even a twitch of the finger, yet for some reason Kai had moved with a desperate urgency.
“Oh interesting, so you were able to sense that?” Bluebird said, a hint of curiosity entering his voice. “It seems you have quite the sharp senses. Let’s see if that was a fluke.”
Once again, Kai then suddenly leaped forward and swung with a fist, attempting to preempt whatever strange attack was coming, but when he did, he didn’t hit Bluebird. Instead, all he had hit was the air, and it had left the perfect chance for him to become completely open.
‘I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s almost as if I’m seeing this guy move, and strike, but he actually isn’t doing anything at all, how is that possible?’ Kai thought frantically, analyzing the uncanny phenomena.
In that instance though, that was when Lupus had charged forward. He gathered a mass amount of strength in his fist and hurled it right at Bluebird. Right as the strike was about to hit him, Bluebird simply stamped his foot down, anchoring himself, and held his free arm up.
The metal covering his forearm stopped Lupus’s massive fist. It clanged, and vibrations rang out due to the powerful hit, but Bluebird’s arm didn’t move an inch. The sheer defensive strength was unnerving.
“Wow, I have to say I’m starting to understand how you two managed to beat my knights,” Bluebird commented, assessing the massive blonde fighter. “That was raw power you have there, and honestly a bit too much power for someone not wearing beast gear or not knowing how to use Qi.”
It was in that moment, that Kai knew, with a sinking feeling, that even if the two of them transformed into their full Wolf forms this was not a person that they could beat. It was making them even wonder how they would fare if they were able to use all of their powers even that suppressed against this legendary figure.
Quickly, Bluebird then spun his body and withdrew his sword back into its sheath. “I won’t be needing this,” he stated, dismissing the weapon entirely.
As he bent himself slightly, he then swung both of his fists out. They had hit nothing but the air, yet at the exact same time, both Kai and Lupus felt a heavy hit right in their stomach. It was as if they had been hit by a punch, and not just any punch, but one that was delivered by an Altered. Both of them were lifted up off their feet and landed on the ground as they started to slide away from the point of impact.
This was Qi, but it was being used and utilised in ways that not even other knights could.
“KAIIII!” Gary shouted from the other end, having witnessed the devastating, invisible attack. He stood up, and immediately he started to run toward the fight.
“One had heightened senses, the other incredibly powerful strike, are you going to show me something different?” Bluebird asked the approaching Green hair, utterly unfazed by the charge.
