Chapter 522
Chapter 522: Chapter 516: The Taste of Instant Noodles Chapter 522: Chapter 516: The Taste of Instant Noodles “Is this yours?” Li Jia pointed at the water bottle and asked.
Yuxin nodded, “Yeah, it’s mine, my name’s on it,” he felt a sudden joy at the recovery of this water bottle.
“So, your name is Yuxin?”
Li Jia scooped up a handful of snow, packed it into a ball, and threw it forward, “We found this on the other side of the small path.
If it weren’t for this bottle, we might not have found our way here.”
“So…” Yuxin patted his water bottle, “did my bottle save our lives?”
“Kind of,” Li Jia didn’t dare to confirm, “Maybe it didn’t save our lives, perhaps we’re destined to freeze or starve to death here.”
Strangely, she didn’t feel any regrets, even though they were stuck in this godforsaken place blanketed in snow, she had no regrets.
In fact, she was proud because she had successfully completed a surgery herself.
Inside, Gu Ning put his backpack under Tang Yuxin’s head to make her a little more comfortable.
Now, he knew how to distribute the noodles and two large packs of ham sausage from Tang Yuxin’s backpack.
This should be enough for them to eat for a few days.
The snowfall should stop the day after tomorrow.
If they can hold on for a couple more days, they should be able to survive.

He stood up and picked up the pot hanging over the fire which was still filled with hot water.
As for the water bottles, they were also kept to one side.
The bottle secured to his chest also kept the water inside warm.
The pot was now half full of water, which was not enough.
He stood up, went out, and returned with some additional snow.
Above the firewood, was a makeshift stove with a small iron pot resting on top, the water inside slowly coming to a boil.
Shen Fei and Lin Yile brought in firewood.
The firewood was easier to find than they had anticipated; and, in the snow, was drier than expected.
“We should collect more.
Once the snow melts, the wood may get damp,” Shen Fei said after adding some firewood to the fire.
Lin Yile nodded continuously.
Indeed, this fire could not be extinguished; their survival depended on it.
“I’m going to get more,” Shen Fei didn’t dare to stop.
His leg was starting to bother him.
He thought he was healed and capable, but now, he understood the limitations.
Adverse weather led to aching legs.
He did not know how long this inconvenience would last.
Maybe it would last for the rest of his life.
“Let’s go,” Shen Fei stood up and walked out, followed by Lin Yile.
They might need to stay here for several days.
For survival, they’d do whatever it took.
Lin Yile knew her limitations.
She couldn’t be of much help, but she would follow Shen Fei’s lead and not succumb to despair.
It was too late for regrets now.
Their only option was to figure out a way to survive.
However, Tang Yuxin’s idea was undeniably right.
Gu Ning’s presence gave them direction, allowing them to know what steps to take.
Without him, Shen Fei alone wouldn’t have been able to handle this situation, not to mention Yuxin, who was a rookie without any outdoor survival experience.
If Gu Ning hadn’t been present, by now their entire group might have fallen into a state of anxiety and nervousness.
It wouldn’t have taken long for panic to drive them mad.
Before long, they managed to gather a good amount of firewood.
“Wow, that smells good?”
Shen Fei could smell it.
“It smells delicious,” Lin Yile’s stomach began to rumble with anticipation, “I’m so hungry.”
“What does it smell like?” Shen Fei couldn’t quite place it.
“It smells like instant noodles,” Lin Yile remembered.
As college students, they were no strangers to instant noodles.
“It really is instant noodles,” Shen Fei recognized the smell after taking another whiff.
“Gu Ning, where did you get instant noodles?” Shen Fei ran over and squatted in front of the pot.
He had thought they’d be eating the dry food he had brought.
That was usually fried noodles or some sort of cake—it was not particularly tasty but filling nonetheless.
“Yuxin brought them,” Gu Ning lifted the lid of the pot.
Indeed, he had boiled a pot of instant noodles.
Along with that, he had also diced the hard biscuits and seasoned sausages, and tossed them into the pot.
The food looked great—noodles, vegetables, and meat.
The vegetables came dehydrated within the instant noodle packet, while the meat was, of course, sausage.
Shen Fei swallowed, the fragrance permeating the air was making him drool.

He might have not liked these things before but now, starved as he was, these things seemed more delicious than he could ever imagine.
“Tell them to come and eat,” Gu Ning instructed Shen Fei.
Instant noodles cannot be overcooked.
“Alright, I’ll go right away.”
Shen Fei promptly ran out and returned shortly afterwards, followed by Li Jia and Yuxin who were carrying firewood.
They placed the firewood to one side.
Shen Fei also set out the bowls and chopsticks.
There were a plethora of these since their backpacks were intact.
Serging bowls and lids totalled to ten, more than enough for the eight of them.
Two of the group were unable to eat, so each person ended up with a bowl.
Moreover, these serving bowls could serve the purpose of regular bowls too.
Gu Ning distributed some noodles to everyone.
The noodles, along with their hard biscuits, and some seasoning made a surprisingly fulfilling meal.
