Chapter 1338 - 1338: Rejoice
Mythrenor looked at the nearly five-meter-tall, leopard-like shadow undead with glowing purple eyes silently walking toward him.
“So, someone really came here…” Eclipse spoke in a calm voice as he rapidly approached Mythrenor.
Mythrenor—still shrouded in black aura—stared at Eclipse without making a move. When Eclipse was about twenty meters away, he finally stopped, and his leopard-like form began to shift.
As if he were made of wax, Eclipse’s entire figure melted into a black puddle and soon reformed into a humanoid shape with beastly features—clawed arms, a face resembling a leopard, and nimble feet with large, sharp nails.
The humanoid figure still looked like a shadow undead, pitch black in colour with burning purple eyes. When looked closely, other than the change in appearance, nothing else seemed different about Eclipse.
“This form is more stable for holding a conversation… don’t you think?” Eclipse said as he clenched and unclenched his hands as if testing his new body.
Mythrenor looked at him silently before finally opening his mouth.
“What kind of conversation could a mere dead beast like you possibly want to have with me?”
“Calling someone like me dead—when I have already surpassed death—is rather strange, don’t you think?” Eclipse replied with a shake of his head.
“Well, anyway, before anything else, there is a message from my master that I must deliver to you.”
Mythrenor narrowed his eyes upon hearing that, fully aware of who Eclipse’s master was.
“What message?” He asked in a cold voice.
Despite being someone who didn’t need to breathe, Eclipse still took a deep breath. His expression turned deadly serious.
“My master said…” Eclipse raised a finger.
“F*CK OFF!”
A deafening silence fell over the entire dark region, which was still in the process of healing from Evan’s devastating attack.
Eclipse calmly lowered his raised finger and looked at Mythrenor with an innocent expression, as if instead of hurling an insult, he had just bestowed upon him a divine blessing from the gods.
“So… your master told you to say those words to me?” Mythrenor asked in a low voice, his body trembling slightly as if he had just witnessed something absurd.
“Ah! Don’t misunderstand,” Eclipse said, shaking his head. “Master didn’t say I had to say those words only to you. He told me to deliver them to anyone who comes here once he left.”
‘So he didn’t know it would be me coming here. That means he doesn’t know about my existence, right?’ Mythrenor thought to himself.
Despite wanting to kill Eclipse in such a way that he would never be able to revive even through Evan, he restrained himself as he didn’t want to give Evan any clue about his identity.
Unknown to him, however, because of the will of Earth Evan had encountered in the blood dungeon when he was on Earth, Evan was already aware of him.
Not only that—thanks to the information Eilistraea had passed on to Anastasia—he even knew that Mythrenor was working with Winterclaw.
“There must be a reason he left you here, right?” Mythrenor asked. “Did he instruct you to kill the person from Winterclaw’s side who would come here to investigate the situation?”
“You are quite smart…” Eclipse praised, which Mythrenor found more irritating than flattering, considering he was a Progenitor himself, and the praise from an undead who didn’t live even a small fraction of his lifespan sounds really absurd to him.
‘I want to kill this dead thing.’
“There were three things my master asked me to do before he left…” Eclipse said, raising one of his fingers while completely ignoring Mythrenor’s expressions.
“I already did the first one—delivering his message to you earlier. “
“The second, as you said, was to kill anyone from Winterclaw’s faction who comes here.”
Eclipse’s expression suddenly turned serious and his voice lowered.
“The last one was specifically aimed at you. He said if someone like you—shrouded in black aura comes here, I must deliver his personal message.”
Mythrenor narrowed his eyes at Eclipse’s words, a thoughtful look appearing on his face.
‘How did he find out that I always hide my appearance when going out? More importantly, how does he know about my existence? I am sure I have kept myself hidden since arriving in Utopia.’
Mythrenor stared at Eclipse for a few seconds before finally speaking.
“What message did he ask you to deliver to me?”
Eclipse adopted a respectful stance and spoke while bowing his head slightly.
“Master asked me to tell you that he is sorry… sorry for never showing you any filial piety despite the fact that you are his birth father…” Eclipse raised his head, a mocking smile creeping across his lips.
“So, to atone for his sins, he said he will soon give you a grand funeral—and bury you on the side of the road where many dogs pass by so that even after death, you will be able to enjoy being drenched in dog piss.”
BOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire Maldrith Kingdom—no, more than half of the Frozen Monarchy Empire—was suddenly struck by a massive earthquake. Tremendous pressure descended from the skies, causing everyone to collapse to the ground.
“What did you just say?” Mythrenor said in a cold voice, glaring at Eclipse, who was also now flattened against the ground, his face pressed against the floor.
“Do you have a problem with your ears?”
Even though he was being crushed by the sheer weight of Mythrenor’s pressure, Eclipse still grinned and replied in a mocking tone.
“I just said… my master will soon give you a grand funeral, you damn peasant. Dance and rejoice at receiving such an unexpected fortune.”
Mythrenor stared at Eclipse’s grinning face and suddenly burst into laughter.
“Hahahaha…. Good good,” He nodded his head and pointed one of his fingers at Eclipse.
Golden light began to gather at his fingertip and he spoke with a smile on his face.
“Since you want me to rejoice, then I will do so by completely destroying a filthy thing like you.”
