Chapter 5773: Taking Advantage of Someone’s Plight

Chapter 5773: Taking Advantage of Someone’s Plight

Luo Yanfeng and the others still remembered Bi Yingxue’s provocation. After all, she had made her killing intent toward them clear.

The conflict between the Luo family and the Bi family had escalated to the brink of an all-out war. Having been tempered by life-and-death battles, the Luo family disciples could see that in the future, only one of the two families would survive.

Now, they had the strength to act decisively. Rather than waiting for Bi Yingxue to strike first, they thought it would be better to eliminate her before she grew stronger.

“That’s right. They’ve dropped all pretenses. If we take the initiative, we’ll have the upper hand,” said Luo Ying, nodding.

The others voiced their agreement. The Bi family had oppressed them for years, and the Luo family had endured that humiliation in silence. Now that the Luo family had the power to fight back, it was time to bare their fangs.

“Big brother Yanfeng, what do you think?” Long Chen asked, turning to look at Luo Yanfeng.

Caught off guard, Luo Yanfeng hesitated. Everyone else had already stated their stance. What was there to think about? But he knew Long Chen wouldn’t have asked without reason. Perhaps he had a different perspective.

Feeling slightly awkward, Luo Yanfeng said, “I share the same opinion as everyone else.”

Long Chen nodded. “Your thinking is correct. But your method is flawed.”

“Why?”

“If you attack first and kill Bi Yingxue along with the Bi family’s talented disciples, what will you do when the weaker ones drop to their knees and beg for mercy? Will you kill them too?” Long Chen asked calmly.

“Who cares if they beg? They are our enemies, and we can’t afford to show them mercy. Wiping them out at the root is the safest option. They never showed us any mercy, so they can’t blame us either,” replied Luo Jiang, his fists clenching.

However, some among them fell silent, understanding Long Chen’s point. If it came to that moment, could they truly slaughter those who surrendered? After all, they had the same violet blood in their veins. To kill them would be to stain their own hearts.

Kill? They couldn’t.

Spare them? They shouldn’t.

Although what Luo Jiang had said was entirely correct, talking and doing were different concepts. If the roles were reversed, the Bi family would never hesitate to kill them. Yet, the thought of slaughtering those who had surrendered could create heart devils that would haunt them in the future.

Long Chen smirked. “Brothers and sisters, remember that we are warriors, not assassins. As long as we remain in peak condition, what’s the difference between acting first or waiting for them to strike?”

Hearing that, Luo Yanfeng and the others laughed. In that case, things became simple.

“Luo Jiang, you prefer attacking first because you lack confidence,” Long Chen added.

Luo Jiang chuckled awkwardly. “How could I? With my power, I don’t fear those idiots of the Bi family. But I’m worried our brothers might struggle.”

“Are you joking? Our warriors have gone through the baptism of fire and blood, as well as the blessing of our ancestors. Would anyone fear the mice of the Bi family?” replied Long Chen, inciting laughter from everyone.

Throughout the entire violet blood race, only their group had fully undergone the totemic blessing. Their overall strength was far ahead of everyone else.

“Remember to suppress your auras, especially in front of the Bi family. Look weak. Act like easy prey. Let them come to us. When they finally attack, we will retaliate mercilessly. And when that happens, even if they cry to the race leader, so what? The family head can easily justify it. We get to kill them, the Elders will be pleased, and all that will remain for the Bi family is regret and sorrow,” Long Chen chuckled.

“Hehehe, Long Chen… you really are evil!” said Luo Ying.

“Hey, make sure to use the right words! You can’t call this evil; it’s smarts. Yup, smarts!” flattered Luo Jiang.

Long Chen laughed. After experiencing so many battles together, they had built a deep camaraderie. There were no barriers between them now.

“Let’s go,” said Long Chen.

After that, Long Chen led them into the depths of the battlefield, where they found devil corpses strewn across the ground, their blood forming crimson rivers.

“What’s going on? Did someone charge onto this battlefield ahead of us?” asked Luo Yanfeng.

When they saw the lines of slaughter throughout the battlefield, as well as the remaining violet blood aura in the surroundings, Luo Yanfeng and the others were startled.

Long Chen observed the marks on the battlefield. Sensing the Blood Qi in the air, he said, “It was probably done by Bi Yingxue.”

“It’s her first time on the battlefield! She dared to challenge this area already?” Luo Jiang exclaimed in shock.

Long Chen didn’t answer. Instead, Luo Ying said, “Do you think they have someone like Long Chen training them patiently?”

Realization dawned on everyone. It seemed that Bi Yingxue was simply trying to rack up points as fast as possible. She had no interest in the survival of her comrades. Given the lingering violet blood aura here, many Bi family members must have died.

Normally, fallen violet blood race disciples were devoured by devils, leaving no traces at all. Yet here, remnants of their aura still lingered.

“Wait, this aura feels… demonic,” muttered Long Chen.

Long Chen suddenly sniffed the air and frowned. Why would he sense the slightest evil tinge to this violet blood?

“Long Chen, what is it?” asked the others.

“Nothing. Ignore it. This area has already been trampled. Let’s move forward,” Long Chen said, though his expression remained grave.

Before long, they spotted a group heading toward them. Luo Yanfeng and the others tensed.

“Bi Yingxue!”

They were stunned. It was indeed Bi Yingxue leading the Bi family survivors. However, of the over ten thousand who had set out with her, only a few hundred remained.

They were battered, bloodied, and clearly had just endured a brutal fight. Even Bi Yingxue herself was missing an arm, with writhing devil runes crawling over the wound like maggots. It was a frightening sight.

Bi Yingxue’s expression changed when she saw them. She hadn’t expected to be so unlucky today—running into Long Chen in her weakest state.

She gripped her weapon tightly, her eyes burning with fury. “Are you planning on taking advantage of our plight?”
