Chapter 5777: Hitting the Nail on the Head
Chapter 5777: Hitting the Nail on the Head
The five devil experts who had attacked Long Chen were entangled by the five Golden Crows. As the Sun Flame burned fiercely, the devils found themselves completely suppressed.
“Big brother Yanfeng, that guy is a brute-force fighter. He wields a heavy weapon, meaning he’s not agile and relies on a single overwhelming attack. Just throw in a few feints, and his weakness will be exposed,” shouted Long Chen.
With this reminder, Luo Yanfeng immediately changed his approach and darted around unpredictably. He forced the devil expert to spin after him and swing his devil blood saber. But just as the saber slashed toward him, Luo Yanfeng shifted to the right, making the attack miss entirely.
In that instant, Luo Yanfeng appeared behind his opponent. As Long Chen had predicted, after missing the strike, the devil expert’s movements became sluggish, and an opening revealed itself.
Luo Yanfeng almost prostrated himself toward Long Chen right there and then. He had been fighting for so long, searching for his opponent’s weakness without finding anything. However, with one word from Long Chen, he directly saw a fatal weakness.
Just like that, Luo Yanfeng swung his sword down, and the off-balanced devil expert was sent flying.
Overjoyed, Luo Yanfeng continued pressing forward, throwing in multiple feints and shooting left and right. In just a few moves, his opponent was left incredibly frustrated and angry as he repeatedly retreated.
Long Chen instructed, “Big brother Yanfeng, you have both power and skill—don’t limit yourself to just one! As an all-rounder fighter, if you master the true essence of battle, this guy wouldn't last more than three moves against you. Even ten of him wouldn't be a threat. Experiment, adapt, and gain experience!”
Long Chen had intended to slowly teach them these concepts later on, but he was in a rush to find stronger corpses and needed to accelerate the process.
In any case, since Luo Yanfeng and the others had built a solid foundation, advancing their training a few days earlier wouldn’t hurt.“Many thanks, brother!” Luo Yanfeng exclaimed.
With Long Chen’s guidance, Luo Yanfeng felt as though an entirely new world had opened up before him. His rigid attacks transformed into fluid, unpredictable strikes. Some of his moves didn’t even make sense, yet they overwhelmed his opponent completely.
Meanwhile, Long Chen turned his attention to another battle.
“Big sister Luo Ying, your opponent is small and nimble. His movement technique makes him quick as lightning. Don’t try to match his speed—predict his movements and lure him into a trap,” Long Chen instructed.
Luo Ying’s opponent was a short devil wielding twin daggers. He moved like a monkey, darting unpredictably around her. He launched a barrage of swift strikes that left her struggling to keep up.
However, when the short devil heard Long Chen’s words, his instincts flared. His speed suddenly exploded, and afterimages flickered all around Luo Ying, making it seem as if dozens of him were attacking simultaneously.
BOOM!
Without warning, a massive shield materialized beside Luo Ying, and the short devil crashed into it headfirst. The impact sent him stumbling back, dazed and disoriented.
In that moment of vulnerability, Luo Ying’s sword cleaved down, slaying the short devil in a single strike.
Luo Ying stood there, dumbfounded. She had never imagined that such a terrifying opponent could be defeated so easily.
Just before executing her move, Long Chen had gestured discreetly while transmitting a brief instruction: Use a shield.
Hearing Long Chen speak about predicting his movements, the short devil instinctively pushed his speed to its peak to avoid being read. However, in his desperation, he ran straight into the shield—knocking himself out and sealing his own fate.
Long Chen chuckled, “If your goal is simply to kill your opponent, any trick is fair game. The most effective tactics are often the simplest ones."
Next, Long Chen turned his focus to Zihei.
“Zihei, your opponent is covered in impervious armor. His weak point is the ‘valley of the five grains.’"
“What’s that?” shouted Zihei, sweating.
His opponent was a strange, monstrous creature with a long, flat head resembling a shoehorn. Instead of facial features, its face was covered in overlapping bone plates.
Zihei’s opponent was too strong and lacked any weaknesses. Zihei couldn’t inflict the slightest wound on it and instead almost died several times.
“In the immortal world, don’t people still eat the five grains? As for where the five grains are expelled, that is the valley!” said Long Chen, smirking.
Even in the immortal world, humans consumed many kinds of grains, but of course, they were infused with immortal qi. As a result, a single grain here would be considered an elixir in the mortal world. But still, the digestive process remained universal.
“Ah, I get it now!” shouted Zihei.
Zihei’s attacks became aggressive, now focused on a very specific target—the asshole. The devil expert became so frightened that it kept clenching its butt. But as expected, the more someone feared something, the more likely it was to happen. Within moments, Zihei managed to stick his sword into his opponent’s most vulnerable spot, causing the devil to let out a bloodcurdling scream before collapsing.
Zihei was delighted. This creature had been so fearless in battle only because no one had ever discovered its weak point. Once it had to clench its buttcheeks, its entire combat style fell apart.
Long Chen casually grabbed its corpse and tossed it into the primal chaos space. Once the corpse was devoured by the black soil, he detected a faint shift in the aura surrounding the massive lightning egg that housed Lei Linger. He realized that the heavenly tribulation energy from these corpses was being absorbed into her.
This was good news, but it also meant that Lei Linger required a staggering number of high-level corpses. The ones he had collected so far barely made a difference.
If Long Chen wanted Lei Linger to undergo a true nirvanic rebirth, he needed to start gathering corpses en masse, and they had to be of the highest level. After all, the corpses of ordinary experts were almost useless to Lei Linger.
Turning his attention back to the battlefield, Long Chen continued issuing commands:
“Luo Jiang, use the violet blood chains’ divine soul-burning runes. Your opponent’s Spiritual Strength is weak—why are you wasting time?”
“Yangming, use the violet flame domain! That’ll suppress his demonic flames!”
With every directive, Long Chen pinpointed the best tactics while exposing the opponents’ greatest weaknesses. Just like that, the tide of battle shifted entirely. What once seemed like terrifying enemies were now mere prey, swiftly taken down once their vulnerabilities were exploited.
One by one, the devil experts fell. After Luo Yanfeng and the others finished off their opponents, instead of jumping in to assist others, they encircled the battlefield, creating a blockade.
As expected, once half of their forces were slaughtered, the remaining devil experts attempted to flee. But they ran straight into the encirclement and were cut down instantly.
This overwhelming victory left Luo Yanfeng and the others ecstatic. Once again, Long Chen had revealed a new realm of combat to them. The battle, which had seemed so grim, now felt astonishingly simple.
Just as they were about to seek more guidance from him, Long Chen suddenly lifted his gaze and spoke loudly.
“Have you seen enough? If you have, you can come out now!”
