Chapter 2730: The Future Foretold I

A powerful burst of light erupted from the spikes as both Brunhild and Frey could be seen unscathed. Brunhild fully transformed into her Valkyrie Armor as it was the only way to tank the initial hit. The Valkyrie armor is a special armor woven from magical light that also boosts the overall stats of a Valkyrie. It also has the special ability of giving damage immunity for a few seconds upon being equipped.

Brunhild used those precious seconds to turn invulnerable while also protecting Frey in the process. She then used her enhanced stats to destroy the ground that wrapped around them. A shield made of fire also materialized from a ring worn on her hand. The flaming shield could easily warm up even the coldest winter nights.

Brunhild has used all of her divine artifacts in full throttle as her Divine Girdle empowered her strength. The Andvaranaut, which is her ring that created the flaming shield, provided enough defense that could easily tank spells and attacks from a god or goddess. She is also in her Valkyrie Armor form which boost her own power to the level of a Lesser God.

“Go, sister. If the seer falls then we might not have someone to guide us to a better future. I shall handle this goddess even if it costs my own life. She will not be able to stop you while I am still standing.” Brunhild stated.

“Thank you, sister.” Frey stated as she also summoned her Valkyrie Armor as well and charged through the gates as she headed straight to the sanctum where the Great Star Gazer is located.

The Goddess of Earth Sif tried to stop Frey from leaving once more but she used a different approach this time. She created a land wave that would have swallowed Frey if not for Brunhild’s assistance. Brunhild ignored the changing terrain that Frey would have clashed with as she headed straight to the caster.

Brunhild’s spear coated in magic light is aimed directly at Goddess of Earth Sif. She charged incredibly fast that even the Goddess of Earth Sif had to instantly twist her body to evade the attack. Unfortunately for the Goddess of Earth Sif, the lunge that Brunhild did is also assisted by her wings made of rainbow lights. The Goddess of Earth Sif could not even react quick enough to evade as her barrier actively blocked Brunhild’s attack.

The Goddess of Earth Sif immediately noticed that her barrier cannot hold as the attack it was blocking is so powerful. The Goddess of Earth Sif had to divert her attention in strengthening her own barrier which resulted in the spell meant to trap Frey to fizzle out. This granted Frey the opportunity to head inside of the kingdom without any problems.

“You are to be judged, guilty!” Brunhild shouted as her ring suddenly transformed her flaming shield into a powerful enchantment on her halberd.

The halberd that is coated in magic light suddenly blazed in a raging inferno. The barrier, that is perfectly blocking the attack from Brunhild, shattered in an instant. The Goddess of Earth Sif screamed as her body is engulfed in flames. The painful scream of the Goddess of Earth Sif also resulted in the ground itself to shake.

Numerous earth spikes once again exploded in the area where the Goddess of Earth Sif was. Brunhild immediately dodged all of this by kicking her feet on the ground and jumping high in a split second. Brunhild managed to avoid the earth spikes but that also meant that she could not burn the Goddess of Earth Sif to death. She wanted to think that she could have made a sacrifice there to kill the Goddess of Earth Sif but even she does not know if it will work.

“HATEFUL! YOU DARE DO THIS TO ME!” The Goddess of Earth Sif screeched as her entire body now has burns on them.

The Goddess of Earth Sif could be seen to have some severe burns on her skin while some of her hair is also singed. The flames produced by the divine artifact that Brunhild uses is forged from the flames of the Flame Giant Surtr himself. In fact, the ring that Brunhild uses is also considered a cursed artifact because of it.

It is only considered a cursed artifact because it wields the flames of the Flame Giant Surtr but there is no literal side-effect. The ring itself houses a divine soul fragment of the Flame Giant Surtr. The divine soul fragment of the Flame Giant Surtr was cut off by the God King Odin himself when the two fought back then. This ring is a present by the God King Odin to the Goddess Freyja which in turn gave it to Brunhild for safekeeping.

“NOT ONLY DO YOU ALLY WITH A FROST GIANT! YOU ARE ALSO WIELDING THE FLAMES OF THAT DAMNED FLAME GIANT! YOU HAVE FALLEN LOW, BRUNHILD!” The Goddess of Earth Sif shouted as her anger raged on.

The ground itself suddenly split as it now released heat as the Goddess of Earth Sif is now digging deeper. She could see that normal earth does not have any effect on Brunhild but she knew that lava will. The Goddess of Earth Sif enchanted the lava herself so that it could burn even a warrior clad in divine armor. She is now hell bent in making sure that Brunhild suffer the same fate as her.

“SUFFER AS I HAVE!” The Goddess of Earth Sif shouted as pillars of lava headed towards Brunhild.

“I shall kill you as you have gone mad, Sif!” Brunhild shouted as she used her ring and coated herself in the flames as she charged towards the Goddess of Earth Sif.

“KEK!” One of the guards guarding the entrance to the sanctum of the Great Star Gazer exclaimed as a dagger suddenly entered his neck.

The guard slid down lifelessly as the dagger is pulled out by none other than the God of Mischief Loki. The God of Mischief Loki appeared just outside the actual sanctum and initiated a killing spree. He took down all of the guards by creating clones of himself and striking them in just one blow with a dagger coated with potent poison from one of his children.

“This gate is seriously very tough to break. To think that it would not open from the outside just because you need to push. Special keys with runes should be used to activate it from this side. Unless the Great Star Gazer herself opens it from the other side then no one will be able to come to her.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he fiddled with the twelve keys.

The God of Mischief Loki killed all of the twelve guards stationed in different areas of the sanctum. He also made sure to not make it obvious that they were killed as he positioned illusions of them in place. Even the normal guards that patrolled were unable to know that the sanctum guards have been compromised.

“Knock… Knock!” The God of Mischief Loki stated as he imbued mana on the twelve keys and the door started to crumble.

The God of Mischief Loki thought that there would be another door but it seems that there is only one. He then stepped inside of the dark entrance and found himself in a large area where the stars could be seen. Below his feet is also a lake that acted as mirror of the starry sky while a beautiful temple could be seen in the distance.

“A pocket dimension. If I did not have those twelve keys then I would have surely been sent to another place instead. At the very least, this is proving very exciting for me. The thrill of it all is making my entire body tingle with excitement.” The God of Mischief Loki stated as his entire body shook from the excitement.

“I know that you are there, seer. I also know that you can see me even if you are blind.” The God of Mischief Loki suddenly stated as he suddenly became serious and looked towards the large temple entrance.

“Illusions cannot truly deceive even a god born to do mischief after all. I know why you have come, God of Mischief Loki. I have already seen the stars and the future has already foretold that the events of today. It does not mean that I shall go with you without a fight though.” The Great Star Gazer stated as she held her hand unto the sky and stars fell from it.

The stars that fell from the sky above the sanctum formed a sword that twinkled in starlight. A sword with ethereal beauty but also very deadly towards her enemies. The God of Mischief Loki suddenly laughed as he saw the Great Star Gazer hold a weapon because he found it funny.

“An oracle trying to fight a god! Your hubris knows no bounds, harlot!” The God of Mischief Loki stated with a deep and offended tone.
