Chapter 482 482: Fuzzsir’s Rampage

Fuzzsir’s silence lasted all the way until the plane touched down.

Before it had even come to a complete stop, he bolted out.

Without so much as a word to Nova, he seized an off-road vehicle under the astonished gazes of those around him and sped straight toward Morning Star headquarters.

Watching this unfold, Nova shook her head slightly.

“Fuzzsir isn’t just unworthy of comparison to Luca—he’s not even qualified to be compared to Donlow. He is far too reckless.”

Nova was thoroughly disappointed in Fuzzsir.

She had once thought that, as the strongest under Drumph’s command, Fuzzsir would surely prove of great value.

Who would have expected him to be so impulsive?

“Are you Lady Nova? Lord Drumph ordered me to escort you.”

Just as Nova was reflecting inwardly on Fuzzsir’s shortcomings, a clear, crisp voice called out to her.

Turning toward the source of the voice, Nova saw a young woman of about twenty.

She had long, fiery red hair, eyes as deep and blue as a still lake, and was clad in the specialized armor crafted for Morning Star members.

By appearances, her primary class was that of a warrior.

“I am Nova. Please lead the way. I imagine Lord Drumph is eager to see me as soon as possible.”

Nova replied with a smile.

The young woman then guided her into an off-road vehicle.

As it carried them toward Morning Star headquarters, Nova struck up a casual conversation.

“Your class seems to be warrior. Why did you choose that path? Personally, I think mage or assassin would suit you far better.”

Though the young woman still wore a faint smile, a glimmer of caution had entered her expression.

“As a member of Morning Star, what class I take isn’t my own decision—it’s determined by Morning Star. And I trust the judgment of my superiors. If they believe warrior is the role best suited for me, then I have no reason to choose otherwise. But what about you? I can’t seem to discern your class at all.”

“My primary class is assassin. My hidden class is mechanical expert.”

Nova knew the girl was deliberately probing her, so she gave her honest answer without hesitation.

Up until now, the truth of her class was known only to the upper echelon of Zenith Technology Company—and to Luca.

As a hidden class, Mechanical Expert by itself didn’t actually possess much combat strength.

The reason Nova was able to display such formidable power was because she had Zenith Technology Company at her back, supplying her with vast quantities of advanced technological weaponry.

With the hidden class of Mechanical Expert combined with the arsenal provided by Zenith Technology Company, Nova had gained the ability to contend with even the strongest players humanity had to offer.

“Mechanical Expert? I’ve never come across such a hidden class before. But it seems this one is indeed exceptionally powerful,” the young woman remarked in awe.

Nova smiled lightly and gave a small nod, choosing not to elaborate further.

Ten minutes later, the off-road vehicle rolled to a stop at the gates of Morning Star headquarters.

Nova stepped down from the car alongside the girl.

“Lord Drumph is not at headquarters at the moment. He’s currently leading a team clearing monsters in the eastern districts of the Imperial Capital. You can wait for him in the lounge—he should return around nightfall.”

After escorting Nova to the lounge, the girl left at once.

In the corridor, she immediately ran into Evelyn.

“Lily, didn’t you go with Lord Drumph to clear out the monsters?” Evelyn asked with a trace of curiosity.

In her impression, ever since Morning Star had suffered heavy losses and so many of Drumph’s men had been killed by monsters, Lily had become one of the subordinates he relied on most.

Lily smiled and replied,

“I’m heading out to clear the monsters right now.”

Without another word, she turned and left, not looking back.

Although the conflict between Drumph and Zovland had been temporarily suppressed, there was still lingering distrust between their respective subordinates.

Naturally, Lily had no intention of telling Evelyn the truth.

Evelyn merely nodded and didn’t press further.

As she passed by the lounge door, she happened to glance inside.

She immediately sensed Nova’s presence—and, of course, Nova sensed hers as well.

After all, they had once fought side by side.

Both women knew full well the other’s strength was nothing to be underestimated—so they did not meet at all.

On the other side of Morning Star headquarters, in the grand conference hall, Fuzzsir was in a rage.

“What the hell were you all doing?! Why didn’t a single one of you step forward to help Luca?! Did you really want him to die?! Do you people have no conscience left at all?!”

Across from him, Melania and Silas wore grim expressions.

Neither of them spoke in rebuttal, for they themselves knew that what they had done—or rather, failed to do—was indeed wrong.

And since even Melania and Silas dared not contradict him, the rest of those present certainly didn’t dare either.

“Are you all mute? Or was it that Drumph gave you strict orders not to aid Luca?! Does he not understand that his current position was earned entirely thanks to Luca’s help?!”

In his fury, Fuzzsir’s accusations turned against Drumph himself.

At last, Melania and Silas could bear it no longer.

“Fuzzsir! Stop spouting nonsense! How could Lord Drumph possibly have stopped others from supporting Luca?”

Silas’s voice carried its own anger.

“We’ve told you before—the reason we didn’t go to Luca’s aid was because of the Federation’s orders! What good does it do to lash out at us here? If you’ve got the guts, then go after the high-ranking figures in the Federation!”

At Silas’s words, Fuzzsir slammed his palm down on the table.

“Fine, then I’ll go! Do you think I’m afraid of them? The so-called big shots in the Imperial Capital will not be allowed to run rampant!”

And with that, he stormed toward the exit.

Melania, watching him, grew frantic.

“Stop him at once!”

At her command, Drumph’s subordinates quickly moved in and restrained Fuzzsir.

“What the hell are you doing?!” Fuzzsir roared in fury.

“If you cowards won’t avenge Luca, then why are you stopping me from doing it?! If you’re shameless, so be it—but must you also stand in the way of my sacrifice?!”

His words rang out with an air of righteous grandeur.

Melania and Silas, however, were left exasperated, black lines practically forming on their foreheads.

They were utterly at a loss.

The current situation was already unbearably complex.

If Fuzzsir were to recklessly charge off and challenge the Federation’s high command, it would only plunge everything into even greater chaos.

Thus, no matter what, the two of them had to stop Fuzzsir.

“If you rush off for revenge now, you’ll only make things worse. I know how deeply you respect Luca, and how much you’ve longed to follow him,”

Melania spoke in a calm, steady tone.

“But I hope you’ll think this through more carefully. At the very least, wait until Lord Drumph returns before making any final decision. If you respect Luca, does that mean you don’t respect Lord Drumph as well?”

Melania’s words managed to cool Fuzzsir down somewhat.

Silas seized the opportunity to press further.

“Melania is right. Besides, I don’t believe Luca is dead at all. He’s only gone missing. We all know his capabilities—there’s no way he’d be killed so easily.”

At that, Fuzzsir finally calmed completely.

“Let me go! Since you insist on waiting for Drumph’s return, then fine—we’ll wait for him.”

He returned to the conference hall and sank into a corner seat.

Melania and Silas both let out sighs of relief.

Roughly half an hour later, Drumph returned to Morning Star headquarters with his men.

He did not go to Fuzzsir directly.

Though he already knew about Fuzzsir’s outburst, he felt the most urgent matter now was to have a serious discussion with Nova.

Inside the lounge, Drumph asked her outright,

“What exactly is your purpose here?”

“I don’t understand what you mean. Wasn’t it you who requested that I come to the Imperial Capital?”

Nova countered with a smile.

Drumph shut the lounge door with a heavy slam. His expression was grim.

“I don’t want to waste even a single moment. Luca has gone missing, and for me, the situation has become dire. If you refuse to cooperate with me, then you are my enemy.”

Those words finally wiped the smile from Nova’s face.

“Zenith Technology Company’s objective is to stabilize the situation and gather intelligence about this sudden monster horde. As for me and my superior, our goal is to find Senator Devitt as quickly as possible—and kill him.”

She spoke with genuine candor, even laying bare the internal divisions within Zenith Technology Company.

Drumph was slightly taken aback.

But he quickly recovered.

“So what you’re saying is that Zenith Technology Company has never actually cooperated with the various factions of the Eternal World? That its true objective isn’t to see the real world completely devoured by chaotic power?”

In response to Drumph’s questioning, Nova let out a faint, self-mocking laugh.

“My clearance level isn’t nearly high enough. All I know is just a fragment of Zenith Technology Company’s true purpose. What you’re asking about is far too vast. Only the Company’s top executives could answer questions like those.”

Her reply was indeed flawless.

Although Drumph himself was a senior figure within Morning Star, even he was far from understanding the Federation’s overarching motives.

After their exchange, Drumph had already confirmed—at least under the present circumstances—that Nova was on his side.

“You may not have the chance to kill Senator Devitt. He disappeared together with Luca.”

Drumph spoke slowly.

Nova frowned.

“Then that means Luca is not dead either. My superior told me not long ago that Senator Devitt is still very much alive. Most likely, the two of them crossed over into another world—the Eternal World being the likeliest destination.”
