Chapter 1860: Goo goo ga ga
Chapter 1860: Goo goo ga ga
Everyone could only stare at Atlas in disbelief, along with the babies. Of course, the thought of a paternity test already crossed their minds, but those babies… didn’t seem to need it. The way they were looking at their father with such judgment in their eyes was a tell.
“EH?!” they gasped again, making the entire mansion tilt from side to side.
But then, there was nothing they could do. The letter was addressed to Atlas, and somehow, he just accepted it as if he knew. Or perhaps, he just liked the idea that he got a child first before his little sibling, even before Haines.
“Charles,” Jessa leaned toward Charles, eyes fixed on Atlas. “Call child services now. He’s going to destroy those two.”
Charles nodded, listening to his son’s questions about the babies and their life goals. “Allison, we need to get those kids… if they really are his.”
Allison nodded, unable to articulate her thoughts.
The parents could only hold fear in their eyes, watching and listening to Atlas’s interview with the babies as if they were at a job interview. And to make it more ridiculous?
“They’re talking to him,” Hugo blurted out in horror, even though the babies were only saying, ’goo goo ga ga.’
The siblings and friends just watched as Atlas questioned the babies while they mumbled gibberish.
“No, you cannot be an artist.” Atlas shook his head at the boy. “You need a better dream.”
He then sharply gazed at the baby girl. “You’re on the right track. I’ll let you work in the morgue, but only if you are at the top of your class.”
Baby Boy: “Goo goo ga ga!”
Baby Girl: “Goo.”
Everyone was already surprised at Atlas’s sudden return, but this? It shocked everyone to the core. But then—
“Yey! A baby~!” Allen and Slater sweet-talked the kids. “They’re so cute!”
“Kids, I’m your uncle! Your coolest and most handsome uncle, okay?!” Slater chimed in, squeezing his face to get the babies’ attention.
“How come he looks like them?” Kiara leaned over, staring at the babies curiously. “They’re not even crying.”
But then, the babies met her eyes and gave her the same judgmental look as their fathers. Kiara’s face froze.
“Wow… First Brother. Even his minions are carbon copies,” Hugo leaned beside her. “Sweetheart, why are they looking at you like that?”
Kiara’s face soured as she turned to him, the very reason she was getting this stare now—and perhaps for the rest of her life!
Meanwhile, Zoren stood in the back. His face shrouded in darkness, his hands clenched into fists. Invisible flames engulfed him as he stared at his wife’s back.
Penny, who was leaning against the table, felt a shiver down her spine. Her smile froze, and she turned her head, only to see her husband burning with anger!
Zoren marched toward her and said, “We need to work hard. Our goal is to double them.”
“Heh…” Penny let out a nervous laugh, and for some reason, she suddenly felt terrified of her husband. “I’ll just… pee.”
“Honey?” Finn hugged Nina from behind. He rested his chin on her shoulder, smiling at her. “Should we go home?”
Nina glanced over her shoulder and let out a nervous laugh. “I’ll just… I’ll just pee.”
And just like Penny, Nina fled the scene out of fear for their little flower’s life. Zoren, after all, had been focusing on his well-being, so his strength in bed had only gotten wilder and wilder.
As for Finn, when he finally could touch his wife and not just make out with her, oh boy, their honeymoon was spent in the hotel bedroom. They didn’t get out.
So, with Atlas possibly having sudden twins out of nowhere, it was the signal for their sons-in-law to do better. Especially Zoren, who wanted quadruplets.
“They’re so cute~!” Grace resisted pinching the babies. “I wonder what ours will look like?”
Haines smiled and gazed at her side profile lovingly. “Hopefully, just like you.”
“Heh. I want them to look like you.”
“No, you.”
“Oh, please.”
Meanwhile, Jessa, Allison, and Charles dragged Atlas into the corner to talk to him. Their concerns?
“We’re filing for custody rights if they are actually yours.”
Atlas, as flat as he could be, replied, “Sure. I’m hiring my son as the lawyer, so he can have experience early on.”
Charles, Jessa, Allison: “!!!”
As for Butler Jen, he stood on the side and watched this chaos unfold. With him were Lester, Yugi, and Yuri, although Yuri was just napping while standing up. The Cortezes shook their heads, mainly because they were having a hard time digesting everything.
First, Jessa and Allison signed them up for this camp. Then, Atlas came home. And now, those babies?
How could everyone just move on from one thing to the next in such quick succession?
“Butler Jen,” Yugi snapped out of it and turned to him. “Where did you say you found the kids?”
“It’s the guard on duty for tonight. He said during the shift change, he heard some noises outside,” Butler Jen explained. “But then, he saw them. He checked the letter and called for me about what to do with it.”
“Should we check the CCTV?”
“I already did,” Butler Jen remarked. “However, it’s in the blind spot.”
Deep lines appeared between Yugi’s brows before he shifted his eyes to everyone, then to Atlas’s figure.
“That’s weird,” he muttered.
Butler Jen didn’t answer, but he, too, was a bit worried about this. Even so, looking at Atlas, he couldn’t help but smile.
“It is strange, but I’m certain everything will settle,” he hummed. “Like it always has.”
Yugi and Lester studied Butler Jen’s side profile before they smiled. The father and son glanced at each other before returning their attention to the chaos unfolding.
“We’ll all be fine,” Lester nodded, eyes falling on the baskets. “And they will be too.”
Although this night was strange in every direction, somehow, it became one of the most memorable events in the Bennet mansion. After all, that very night, everyone learned many things:
One, Atlas was no longer a virgin—and that he lost it some time ago, thanks to Old Mrs. Pierson’s magical soup.
Second, he was a father.
They quickly did a paternity test the next morning, and the result? 99.99% POSITIVE.
But regardless of such a shocking turn of events, life goes on. It was just that this time, there were two new additions to their family, and another one (Haines and Grace’s baby) on the way.
As for Penny and Zoren’s quadruplets, the two of them needed to work harder. Because, like always, Zoren and Penny worked hard to have the life they now enjoyed. Nothing came easily for them, including conceiving.
But hard work pays off.
Not now, but soon, they would be blessed with four charming little children, just as they had prayed for.
