Path To Godhood Begins With Marrying Wife And Gaining SSS Rank Skill

Chapter 316:Power Of Chaos

Chapter 316: 316:Power Of Chaos

Ethan looked at Rathlos’s stern expression and tried to find even a hint of surprise on his face, but there was none.

“Haaa…” Ethan sighed heavily. “I thought it would surprise you, but alas…”

Rathlos snorted. “Just because I am a wyvern, did you really take me as some random hillbilly who hasn’t seen anything?”

Though he spoke confidently, inwardly he was sweating bullets.

What… how?

He truly did not understand how Ethan had done this.

“By my calculations,” Rathlos continued, narrowing his eyes, “you should have taken a minimum of ten years to reach the Emperor stage. So what did you do?”

Ethan frowned for a moment.

’Ten years… but I used two hundred years of Martial Insight and all that to reach this point.’

“System, what is this?” Ethan asked silently.

[Host, that was the effective gross cultivation, but a large chunk of cultivation is lost during the process. The efficiency is quite low. Also the insights were capped at B rank, without a system this should be the end.]

’I understand the second point but what about the waste?’ Ethan frowned inwardly.

[It is not correct to say wasted. Rather, it reinforces your body, heals hidden wounds, and makes you perfectly fit for ascension. Normally, people take a long time before a breakthrough so they do not fail.]

[You are the only one who never failed because of cultivation assistance.]

’What is my efficiency?’ Ethan asked.

[Host, it is approximately 1:5.]

Ethan nodded slightly and looked back at Rathlos.

“I am a bit special,” he said calmly.

“Aren’t you being narcissistic?” Rathlos replied dryly.

“I have the right to be,” Ethan said without shame.

Rathlos’s expression cracked for a brief moment.

“So, what are you here for?” Rathlos asked.

“Oh,” Ethan said suddenly, “I almost forgot about that.”

As he spoke, Ethan’s figure blurred and appeared some distance away.

“Attack m—!” Ethan’s shout was not even finished when Rathlos had already moved.

A huge concentration of mana fluctuated at Rathlos’s fingertip. Energy gathered and compressed into a tight circular form.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“What the hell? Isn’t that dragon breath? How are you doing that with your finger?” Ethan shouted.

“Don’t you shoot it with your mouth?” Ethan added instinctively.

“You are too outdated, kid,” Rathlos snorted.

Ethan cursed under his breath.

“STOPPPPP!” Ethan roared, but it was already too late.

Rathlos had finally found a chance to beat Ethan. How could he let it go?

The beam shot forward like a lance of destruction. Ethan reacted instantly and flicked his hand, diverting the attack at the last second.

The beam flew far into the distance and collided with a mountain far away from Blanks territory.

BOOOOOOM!

A devastating shockwave erupted. Flames shot into the sky, followed by violent shockwaves. A massive cloud of dust rose, and when it settled, a flattened mountain could be seen in the distance.

People below looked up in shock. Some started running and screaming, wondering which son of a bitch had attacked.

Thankfully, Ethan acted quickly and sent out a message to calm everyone down.

“Fuck!” Ethan shouted, glaring at Rathlos. “I said attack me with the lowest power, not try to kill something!”

“Why?” Rathlos asked calmly.

“Just do it!” Ethan snapped.

Rathlos clicked his tongue but followed Ethan’s instructions. He condensed a much weaker dragon breath and flicked it forward.

The small energy ball shot at Ethan at high speed and struck him directly.

BOOM!

A small explosion erupted, creating only a faint disturbance.

The air settled almost immediately.

Rathlos’s eyes widened as he sensed something wrong.

“That… don’t tell me…” he muttered.

A dreadful and frightening sensation welled up in his chest. He shook his head, trying to deny the thought.

This was absurd.

Impossible.

But then he looked at Ethan.

Ethan stood there without a scratch. His clothes were barely disturbed. Not a single wound could be seen.

And then Ethan smiled.

A wide, confident grin spread across his face.

Rathlos felt his heart skip a beat.

“Don’t tell me…” Rathlos whispered again, his voice hoarse.

Seeing that grin, Rathlos almost had a heart attack.

Whatever Ethan had just done, whatever path he had stepped onto, it was far more terrifying than Rathlos had imagined.

And this time, he was not sure whether to feel relieved… or afraid.

“Chaos… energy…”

With a single glance, Rathlos understood what had happened.

When his compressed dragon breath struck Ethan, it collided with a strange barrier around him. The ordered energy of the attack lost its structure the moment it touched that barrier. It did not explode. It did not rebound. It simply broke apart and vanished, scattering into nothingness like mist in sunlight.

To be sure, Rathlos fired a few more shots.

Each time, the same thing happened.

The attacks that directly struck Ethan were dispersed and erased. However, when he altered the angle and force, a few impacts still sent Ethan flying back, though without serious injury.

Rathlos narrowed his eyes.

“If my assumption is correct,” he said slowly, “at present you can deflect attacks up to D rank, right?”

Ethan dusted off his clothes and nodded.

“I am not sure about the ranks,” Ethan replied honestly. “That is why I told you to take it slow. I need to figure it out. My control over chaos energy is very limited.”

The more Rathlos heard, the more terrified he became. His hands went to his mouth, and he began biting his nails without realizing it.

“Damn… damn…”

He started pacing back and forth.

“That means right now you only know how to dismantle energy,” Rathlos muttered. “You do not know how to convert other elemental energy into chaos form. But what will happen when you reach that level?”

He stopped abruptly and stared at Ethan.

“Will you become a walking god that no attack can harm? Is that even possible?”

Then his gaze sharpened.

“The most important question is this,” Rathlos said. “How are you able to use chaos energy at all?”

Ethan watched Rathlos walk in circles, biting his nails like a man on the edge of madness.

“Hey… hey, mister,” Ethan said, snapping his fingers to pull him back.

Rathlos froze and turned.

“I understand this is extraordinary,” Ethan continued, “but I do not think I am the only one.”

“You understand shit,” Rathlos cursed, startling Ethan.
