Chapter 330:I Should Have Killed You!

Chapter 330:I Should Have Killed You!

Rathlos extended his hand. Dark and fiery blades formed around his arm, twisting and layering like living weapons. They moved like they were alive, sliding over each other and giving off heat that made the air ripple.

A surge of darkish fiery glint erupted from his body, and the ground behind him shook as cracks spread outward across the broken marble.

“So I am here to fulfill my promise,” he continued, his gaze locked on Duke Monopolis.

His eyes did not blink. His face stayed calm, but the veins along his neck stood out.

The crowd nearby bent away from him as if pushed by wind.

He clenched his fist and roared.

“Insolent human, I am here to grace you with death.”

The sound echoed hard against the walls. Dust fell from the ceiling, and some of the nobles covered their ears.

Duke Monopolis stared at him in shock. His lips parted slightly, and his breath grew uneven.

Memories flashed through his mind.

That pressure and that gaze..He remembered how this measly beast was growling at his feet but never ever had he imagined that such a guy would now stand close to his equal.

Before he could react, Ethan’s voice sounded again, cutting down everything.

“Also, you are not worthy to fight me.”

The words hit harder than any blow. Several people nearby flinched.

Ethan shoved Duke Monopolis with one hand.

It did not look strong, but the force behind it was heavy. Monopolis stumbled back several steps, and his boots scraped loudly against broken stone. He barely kept his balance.

Rage exploded across his face. His jaw tightened, and his eyes widened with disbelief.

He felt his pride was stepped upon in front of everyone.

His eyes burned with humiliation and fury. His chest rose and fell quickly.

“You dare!” he roared, raising his fist.

He gathered power, and the air around his arm twisted. Stone fragments lifted from the floor and trembled. He was ready to crush Ethan.

But before he could strike, a shadow moved.

It was Rathlos who appeared.

His entrance was brutal and absolute. A huge dark shape dropped like a falling star.

The air twisted as Rathlos slammed into Duke Monopolis with overwhelming force. The sound of impact was deep and heavy. Dark flames and draconic power exploded outward, swallowing the space around them.

BOOOOOOM!

The clash was devastating.

The shockwave ripped through the area and flattened what little remained standing. Broken pillars snapped. Walls cracked deeper. Fire and darkness collided, forming a massive explosion that swallowed everything nearby. Smoke, dust, and sparks filled the air.

People screamed again. Some covered their heads. Others lay flat on the ground, shaking.

BOOOM!BOOM!

A violent clash erupted and then two figures shot upwards.

Ethan stood unmoving.A transparent barrier flared around him. It shone faintly and curved like glass. The violent shockwave crashed into it, but it did not even tremble. Flames and debris washed over it and slid away, unable to touch him.

Without even glancing back, Ethan walked forward.

He passed through smoke and fire as if strolling through mist. Ash fell on his shoulders, but he did not react. The destruction behind him meant nothing.

His eyes searched the hall.

He looked around and spoke, “Father-in-law, please take Claira and move. It’s going to be dangerous here. With Rathlos here, my forces would be coming here.”

His voice was firm, and his hand lowered slowly. In the distance, more tremors shook the ground.

Soon, he stopped.

King Mark stood before him.

Mark’s clothes were stained with blood. Some of it was dry and dark, and some still looked fresh. His face was pale, yet twisted into a sinister smile. His eyes were sharp and clear, no longer senile or foolish.

Mark looked at Ethan and smiled. The smile did not reach his eyes.

“Everyone might leave but you and her… She had to die.”

Ethan’s eyes hardened. His shoulders straightened slightly.

“And who’s gonna do that? Do you think you are strong enough to trespass me and lay your hands on my wife.”

“Hmmm… So now, are you acting like a lovely dovey couple of righteousness? Did you forget it’s me who gave her to you…”

“So should I thank you for that?” Ethan widened his lips slightly, but there was no humor in his face.

“A man like you is incapable of feeling emotions. You are nothing but a cold beast. Wait no…”

His voice lowered.

“It’s an insult to compare the beast to you cause even tigers don’t eat their cubs…” Ethan snorted softly, and his eyes stayed fixed on the king.

“It was a mistake to let you live,” King Mark said slowly. “I should have killed you earlier.”

Ethan bowed slightly, a polite smile on his face.

“Thank you for not killing me,” he replied calmly.

Then his smile vanished.

“But do not expect any mercy from me.”

King Mark’s smile widened.

“I won’t.”

The next moment, King Mark’s appearance began to change.

Right before everyone’s eyes, his frail and wrinkled body twisted unnaturally. Bones cracked with dull sounds. His hunched back straightened as muscles swelled beneath aging skin. Wrinkles faded as if they were being burned away from inside. His height kept increasing until he stood almost as tall as Ethan.

The old, weak king was gone.

In his place stood a strong and imposing man with a powerful build. His aura surged violently, crushing the air around him. Then, with a sickening tear, draconic wings burst out from his back. Scales crept across parts of his body, dark and rough, glowing faintly with an ominous light.

The pressure skyrocketed.

His strength climbed rapidly, crossing boundary after boundary, until it slammed into the ceiling of the Emperor realm.

Ethan’s eyes widened in realization.

“The dragon bone… the dragon essence…”

“You—”

He did not have time to finish.

BOOOOM!

A terrifying punch smashed into Ethan’s chest and sent him flying through the air. The impact shattered the ground beneath him. Ethan spun his body midair, twisting to regain balance, but before his feet could touch the ground, the figure blurred.

King Mark appeared behind him.

Both of Mark’s fists joined together and came down like a hammer.
