Chapter 1953: Chapter 1950: Schemes
Quickly calming down, they hurriedly went to do as the Crown Prince of Ande instructed.
The young man poured tea for Zhongjin, then quietly waited by the side, not daring to speak.
Zhongjin only held the teacup, slowly sipped a bit, and looked at the banquet scene with an indistinct expression.
On King Qi’s side, after receiving the news, it was personally delivered by the Crown Prince of Ande’s people to the adjacent guest room.
Zhongjin squinted his eyes, stood up along with them, and suddenly, because of the abrupt movement, almost collided with the person in front.
The teacup fell to the ground, startling the banquet into silence for a while.
The profligate sons sitting around instinctively looked towards Zhongjin.
The housekeeper’s face was horrified, quickly holding the teacup as he knelt: "Please forgive me, Prince, this servant failed to see clearly and almost bumped into you."
Zhongjin rubbed his forehead, then glanced at the damaged teacup on the table.
"Replace the teapot." Zhongjin sat down again.
The housekeeper trembled as he got up, hurriedly called people to replace everything on the tabletop with new ones.
After tidying up, the housekeeper dared not leave.
Zhongjin found him an eyesore and immediately commanded with a cold voice to drive him away.
The housekeeper quickly crawled away, afraid of being blamed.
Zhongjin’s gaze fell on the teacup on the table, lightly tapping his fingers on the tabletop, in a subtle, unnoticed motion.
"Why haven’t you started preparing tea for me?" After a while, noticing the young man remain motionless, Zhongjin tapped the table again, speaking flatly.
The young man shivered, quickly returned to preparing tea.
When the Crown Prince of Ande returned, the housekeeper nodded towards him.
The Crown Prince of Ande’s gaze unwittingly fell on Zhongjin’s teacup, a meaningful glint flickering in his eyes.
He stepped forward, ’kindly’ reminding: "Prince, Prince Qi has already left the residence. The person he sought is not here; it was merely a misunderstanding."
"However, Minister Song here has nearly awakened, shall I summon him over?"
Zhongjin’s dark eyes showed no emotion, only a tense demeanor, never relaxing.
The Crown Prince of Ande noted this, glanced again at the teacup, tentatively suggesting: "Prince, shall I arrange for you to speak in the guest room next door? It’s quieter over there."
After waiting for a while, seeing no response from Zhongjin, his face remained grim, yet fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, such that only the observing Crown Prince of Ande noticed.
"Why haven’t you quickly helped the Prince over?" the Crown Prince of Ande angrily rebuked the young man, full of hidden signals.
The young man flinched, bowed his head, biting his lip, stepped forward to support Zhongjin.
Zhongjin first dodged, then waited until the young man again reached for his arm when he no longer showed signs of resistance.
"This way, Prince." The Crown Prince of Ande commented with a meaningful smile.
Zhongjin stood up, took a couple of steps, his stride somewhat unsteady.
Suddenly, as they reached the courtyard entrance, Zhongjin coldly said: "I still have matters to attend to at the residence, An Liu, you follow the Crown Prince to escort Minister Song back."
Speaking thus, without awaiting any response from the Crown Prince of Ande, he directly pulled the young man along to leave.
The Crown Prince of Ande’s intention was not to let Zhongjin return to his own residence to handle matters; he had administered the secret drug to trap Zhongjin in defect, unwilling to watch him leave.
Hurriedly called out to block him.
Zhongjin revealed his true character, icy cold: "What is it? Does the Crown Prince intend to block my way?"
He stood full of arrogance, even looking at him with disdain in his eyes.
