Chapter 1121: Fate Of Past Friends (2)

Chapter 1121: Fate Of Past Friends (2)

[Planet Pyronos – Divine Golden Phoenix Clan – Veyara’s POV]

Just like how Sylvara stayed in the Beast Kingdom for years before leaving, Vey did the same. However, unlike Sylvara, who left 300,000 years ago, she left a little over 30,000 years ago.

The reason she left was that she learned that her siblings had been mismanaging the Golden Divine Clan since her big sister, who took charge after their mother vanished, ascended to godhood 120,000 years ago.

Their mother left the clan to her big sister, since she was the wisest and strongest of them all. However, because their mother didn’t return even after hundreds of years had passed, she had to ascend, which she did.

But after she was gone, the rest of her siblings started mismanaging the clan’s affairs, which, to Vey, was an insult to their mother’s dignity, name, and hard work in ensuring the clan thrived all these years.

So, she decided to take over the clan and restore it to its former glory, like how it was under her mother and big sister’s management.

Of course, it wasn’t going to be easy, considering she was going against three of her siblings. However, Vey was no weakling, so she had been working for the past 30,000 years to ensure that the clan her mother had worked hard to build was protected and guarded against all forms of danger and misappropriation.

Vey had worked hard, and so she managed to reach the Immortal Monarch stage. But even with her strength, she wasn’t having it easy.

“My lady, maybe we should ask Lord Ignarok and Balrion for help. I am sure with them coming here, your sisters will have no choice but to bow,” Arpina, a redheaded phoenix, said, handing a glass of wine to Vey.

She was one of the three phoenixes that Ignarok had sent to assist Vey: Arpina, Shula, and Tana.

“Arpina is right, my lady. Lord Ignarok is an Immortal Lord; with him here, this rebellion will be handled easily,” said Shula, another redheaded phoenix.

Vey sighed, knowing deep within that her two assistants were indeed right. Ignarok’s presence would indeed change things.

“I know you ladies are just worried about my safety. However, worry not, I am more than strong enough to protect myself.

Also, if I bring external force, I will indeed be able to suppress them; however, they will not truly accept me as their leader, especially if I use a dragon to do so.

So I will use my own hands to take back what my mother built. Of course, it will be hard and long, but I have no doubt that one of these days I will achieve my goals and make my mom and big sister proud.”

The three ladies could only look at her with calm expressions.

Vey is stubborn. That much they are well aware of. However, her dedication to her mother and her commitment to reclaiming what she had left behind only seemed to grow by the passing second.

Shula and her two sisters sighed. They had been following her for a very long time, even back in the Flame Sea, so they were aware of her temperament.

“I hope Lord Kent makes it here within the next 100 years,” Tana said, and her sisters nodded.

“With him here, I am sure these angry birds will have no choice but to scram,” Shula added, and again her sisters nodded.

They were already aware of their big sister’s feelings for Kent, so they knew the only person who could talk some sense into her head was him.

Too bad Kent was nowhere to be found.

Hearing the words spoken by the two redheaded phoenixes, Vey sighed slightly. “Kent, where are you now? I miss you.”

She sighed again and decided to rest for a while. She had managed to win back some of the elders and those who believed in their clan, rather than making a profit. Soon, she would make a move to claim more.

However, going against three Immortal Monarchs while only an Immortal Monarch herself was no easy thing to do.

But she is trying, and hopefully, one day, she will be able to achieve her goal.

[Unknown Planet in the Chaos Star System – Zeraphine’s POV]

“Damn it!” Zera, as she prefers to be called, parried a sword attack from an Immortal Monarch and evaded an arrow from an Immortal Emperor.

It came narrowly at her heart, but she managed to evade.

“Just die already, plant!” The Immortal Monarch attempted to utilize his superior strength to overpower Zera; however, the latter had more combat experience from her thousands of years of combat.

She utilized her bloodline ability, which enabled her to project her consciousness into plants, to move and appear behind the Immortal Emperor, stabbing a wooden sword through his back.

“Aaaarrrggghhh!”

The Immortal Emperor screamed when he felt his soul pierced. The sword emitted a faint purple immortal energy that seemed to possess a corrosive poison aspect.

Zera didn’t linger and moved away before surrounding herself with purple flames. Then she slid through the many plants around and created a raging storm of fire, causing the Immortal Monarch to frown and move back.

By the time the flame storm dispersed, Zeraphine was long gone.

“Sneaky little bitch,” the Immortal Monarch cursed, feeling his prey slip through his fingers. He turned toward the Immortal Emperor and sighed.

“How bad is it?” he asked.

“That bitch got me. She wounded my soul. Had it not been for the soul protection charm that Lady Idalia gave us before this hunt, I would have been taken out from that one attack.”

The Immortal Emperor gritted his teeth as blood drooled from the corner of his lips. He came this close to death, just like the many others who fell to Zeraphine’s wooden sword.

Several thousand miles away, Vey materialized from the ground as a lotus flower and soon transformed into her humanoid form.

COUGH

She coughed up a mouthful of blood and fell to her knees, her face pale. After catching her breath, she sealed the space she appeared in and started to heal.

“It will take them a month to be able to heal and chase again. Hopefully, by then, no other team will come after me,” Zeraphine sighed.

Thirty-nine thousand years ago, she received an invitation from an old friend who needed help retrieving a specific flower treasure that would enable her to make significant progress in her cultivation.

Zeraphine, of course, didn’t hesitate. She owed her for helping her long ago, so she bid Ignarok and the others goodbye and left.

However, who would have expected the friend she knew and trusted like her own family to actually be after her life—well, she was after her immortal qi, to be precise.

In the Immortal stage, the only thing that determines one’s strength is their immortal qi. A Root Immortal with two immortal qi can easily contend with a Core Immortal with only one immortal qi.

Zeraphine is an Immortal Monarch who has nine immortal auras, something that shook the Beast Kingdom.

Everyone called her a genius, but who would have thought that, among the many people who wanted her immortal qi, her best friend would be one of them?

This betrayal shattered Zeraphine to the point that she nearly died many times. For thousands of years, she had been trying to escape one ambush after another.
