Chapter 917: I Eat Immortals For Breakfast (1)
The moment the two forsaken warriors saw the flame appear in Kent’s hand, they knew danger had found them.
Instinctively, their souls screamed at them to run, but their bodies couldn’t move. Kent made sure of that by driving dozens of Doom shards through their legs.
He further imbued the shards with Chaos energy by activating his bloodline, so every slight movement sends jolts of pain down to their souls.
Of course, there was nowhere to run to, so in a way, they were doomed, and they knew it. Kent turned and looked at Lord Forsaken, whose eyes were red and filled with anger.
“Don’t worry about him, master. Although I am not allowed to kill him, I can hold him for as long as you want. So get on with your business,” Gaia said, and Kent smiled through his evil expression.
“Then I won’t be polite.” Kent waved his hand, and the flame surrounded the first Forsaken Elder, whose scream filled the battlefield.
“Because I was in a hurry to kill you, I didn’t have the time to extract the true blood essence from the other three I killed. However, with you poor souls in my hands now, I will be sure to do it the right way before facing that idiot.”
Kent formed a hand seal, and the flame intensified, causing the screaming coming from the Forsaken Elder to turn hoarse.
“Life is just this way. You don’t always get the good end of the stick,” Kent said as he formed more seals.
“Had I been a second late, my wife would have died. That would have been bad. However, I managed to arrive on time, and thus, we are here now.
The reason why I am telling you this is for you to know the kind of fate that awaits your people.” Kent turned sideways and looked at Lord Forsaken.
“I know your real body can hear what I am saying, so listen well. I am someone who values happiness above all else. I don’t hate, for hatred is for those who have no other choice.
But for someone to hate you means they want you gone, and thus hate is the strongest evil intent a person can ever have.
So, for me to hate you, know that there is no way I will let you go scot-free. I will follow up on this and will continue hunting for your kind for generations to come.
So take in this moment. Let it imprint on your mind and do well to remember, for this is the fate that awaits you when I get my hands on you.”
The flame intensified, and the scream of the Forsaken Elder increased even more. Eventually, he stopped screaming. A few seconds later, his body was consumed by the flame. The only thing that remained was a pill-sized blood essence.
Kent waved his hand, and the blood essence floated and entered his forehead.
For a second, nothing happened. However, a few seconds later, a powerful pressure crashed down on Deva, who immediately started coughing blood.
The aura around Kent intensified several-fold. “That is more like it,” Kent smiled, looking at Deva, whose face was pale.
Lord Forsaken held an even paler look on his face.
What Kent had just done defied common sense.
From common sense, when absorbing the purest form of one’s blood essence, they must at least prepare other counter treasures that they will need to counter the overwhelming and chaotic energy of the blood essence.
However, Kent just absorbed it, and he appeared fine. It was almost as if he looked disappointed that the essence inside the blood he had just absorbed wasn’t enough.
If that isn’t scary to the point that even an Immortal turned pale, then scary doesn’t exist.
After adjusting to the newfound strength, Kent looked coldly at Deva, and the flame surrounded her. Her screams filled the place.
Kent specifically knew that when it came to a fair battle in his current element, he had the means to face an average Heavenly Ascension stage cultivator, one from a Legacy High world and maybe a Great High world.
So he went ahead and let the flame consume Deva, who happened to be a level 5 Heavenly Ascension stage cultivator. This meant her blood essence would be much stronger than the level 3 he had refined.
Inside the tower, Vexthra and the ladies were watching Kent on a projected screen.
“He has become much stronger now,” Vexthra muttered, a glint flashing across her eyes.
“But can he kill that man?” Mara asked, and her sisters nodded in agreement. They all couldn’t help wondering the same thing.
“He wouldn’t have sealed the place if he wasn’t sure he would be able to kill him. Also, the man is a mere Avatar, though he has a cultivation base of an Early Stage Root Immortal.”
The ladies sucked in a cold breath, knowing there was nothing they could do in this case to help him. However, on the battlefield, there was one person still hovering in the air, and that person was Uncle Drake.
He had a crazy look in his eyes, and a battle intent that screamed danger could be seen in them. However, despite sticking around, he knew he wouldn’t be able to help Kent.
“I need to go to that place I saw in my dreams. If I want to unlock my true self, I must go there,” he muttered, but he remained just at the entrance of the crack leading to Sonox.
After 30 minutes, Kent was done refining the last Forsaken Elder. The golden essence blood entered his forehead, causing Kent to smile cheerfully.
He turned and looked at Lord Forsaken. “Time for you to die.”
The moment Kent said that, Gaia freed Lord Forsaken, allowing him to dash at Kent in a rather powerful charge. Kent had no time to dodge, so he crossed his sword across his chest and took the punch.
He was pushed back just 4 meters, causing Lord Forsaken to frown.
Kent sneered. “What?” He smiled. “You think I would take such a punch without knowing I can handle it?”
Lord Forsaken didn’t answer but moved again, this time causing the very ground to crack, creating a 2-meter-wide crater.
However, Kent merely smiled as the Soul Map expanded, allowing him to see the deception in the attack.
Kent moved back and jumped to his left just in time to evade a pointed metallic shard that came for his heart.
’A metal cultivator, huh?’ Kent’s heart beat wildly as he evaded even more attacks from the same metallic shards. However, the faster or quicker he moved, the faster the shards came at him.
’He is calculating my moves based on when and how I make them.’ Kent twisted his body and used the blade of his sword to deflect a much more powerful form of the shard.
’Interesting. Although he doesn’t seem to have sword gaze, he is still able to calculate and adapt even faster than I with sword gaze.’ The light in Kent’s eyes didn’t dim.
If anything, knowing he was completely outclassed and outmatched, the zeal to battle this Lord Forsaken had become even more intense.
A metallic shard stabbed at Kent, but he moved his body just fast enough to evade the shard, only for a powerful kick from Lord Forsaken to send him flying back.
Kent landed on the ground, but he wasn’t hurt in any way. Before he could move, the ground twisted, and his legs were encased in a thick layer of sand.
The next second, a powerful fist arrived in front of him.
’Impressive,’ Kent smiled.
