Chapter 502: Grim Residents No More

The Regalons mined honestly, minding their own business.

There were other Residents mining.

There was a problem a few times when some small mining groups would break into conflict regarding the spot to mine the crystals. After all, some spots were good and yielded more crystals.

Some Regalons also faced that, but Almond didn’t want to get into stupid conflicts, so he told everyone to give away.

No point in fighting for pennies when they were about to loot a bank.

After mining for eight hours straight and gathering necessary information about the mine, they made a simple and effective plan.

The toughest part was not stealing all the storage compounds, but remaining anonymous. The surveillance should not be able to tell that it was they who did this.

If they got found out, things could turn nasty. Although they wouldn’t die because Levi would save them, Levi saving them would defeat the main purpose because then they would have reduced experience and potential gathering speed.

After Regalons were done mining, they left with their first earnings in the Grimverse.

The pay was according to the weight of the crystals they mined. In total, the Regalons earned 63,290 Tier-1 Grim Coins.

It wasn’t much for them.

The food for Grim Residents usually cost between 100 to 200 per dish. Resources, artifacts, and other useful things to increase one’s combat power were naturally very expensive.

The two requirements to ascend to Grim Student position was having a total of 1,000,000 stat points and reaching 100% in the experience bar as Grim Resident.

Gathering experience was still easy compared to gathering stats.

To increase stats, one required resources, and the best way to get them was by entering the Grim Arcade.

Grimworld Tree had created the Grimworld’s system and design by taking tidbits from Grimverse.

Grim Arcade was one such place.

A place of complete brutality and utter grimness.

Anyone from Grim Residents to Grimlord can enter Grim Arcade and participate in the Grim Games to earn rewards, with the main reward being resources that increase one’s stats.

“So how do we enter Grim Arcade?”

Almond and others were in the courtyard, facing Levi, who had just told them about the Grim Arcade.

“Check your status. You should be able to see two tabs, < Territory> and < War Profile >, and they should be locked.”

“How to unlock those two tabs?” Almond asked.

“That’s for later. For now, you have to start thinking of unlocking a third tab that’s not visible in your status yet,” Levi said with a grin. “If you want to enter Grim Arcande, there’s a simple requirement. You have to kill one Grim Resident.”

Everyone was surprised.

Well, everyone had killed before, so they weren’t a problem, but the requirement was nasty in a sense.

Because killing someone who has friends and allies as a Grim Resident would basically create a chain of conflicts. As such, choosing their target was also important. Unless, of course, a conflict unexpectedly started, and deaths occurred, which was more common than not.

So this requirement was basically trying to put people into trouble.

“If you don’t enter Grim Arcade, you can forget about getting stronger. It’s simply not possible to gather enough resources by working and earning money. The main source of resources sold everywhere is the Grim Arcade. Resources that grow in the wilderness are usually held by territories, and they sell them at a high price.”

“Moreover, the higher the tier, the rarer the resources in the wilderness.” Levi wryly smiled. “That’s why there will be a bloodbath for the Tier-5 resource that’s about to ripen here.”

Everyone understood.

“Moving to the next topic. The War Profile will unlock autometically when participate in a war under some territory. The War Proficile changes according to the different wars. Basically, it’s a profile created by Griverse according to your contribution and war merits, which you can show to the war organizers to earn rewards and whatever they give according to your contribution. You’ll find that soon when we go on our first war mission later.”

“As for the <Territory> tab, it will unlock when you become a Grim Noble.”

“I see. Guess we don’t have to worry about it anytime soon.” Lily nodded.

Almond stood up. “Alright, since we have learned some things and also discussed the plan for tomorrow’s heist, let’s go eat.”

“I am strangely hungry too.”

“Yeah, it’s rare.”

Levi chuckled. “You are gods in lower worlds and can use the world’s energy itself to sustain your hunger, thirst, and sleep. But you can’t do that in Grimverse. You are not strong enough to process the atmospheric energy of Grimverse to make yourself away longer.”

“Don’t worry, it will get better as you continue to rank up your positions.”

After eating, the Regalons returned home and had proper sleep for several hours.

The next day, all forty-seven Regalons left for mining.

[ Lily: Don’t worry, it will work. I wil make sure your instruments stays hidden and out of surveilence. ]

Natalia’s True Concept she got by absorbing one of the five origin beings, was powerful because it increased her luck in a sense. That Fortunate Scale talent she got was from this origin being in the first place.

So she could use up her luck of a certain period at once to get a burst of luckiness. But that was not all. There was a way to steal the fortune of others, too, but she hadn’t quite grasped the application and conditions of using that yet.

The Regalons scattered as they began preparing and took their positions.

Natalia was nervous while placing her instruments, but fortunately, Voiderran was powerful enough for Lily to conceal them properly.

Everyone began mining after preparation.

There was a Grim Guard in front of each Storage Compound, and they were equivalent to Grim Students.

Basically, people usually start branching out a lot more when they are in the Grim Student position.

Not all can survive in the academies, so those who drop out and leave have their positions renamed to something else because they couldn’t be Grim Students anymore.

Grim Guard was one of those positions. They could increase their experience by being guards at various places. The more dangerous the guarding post, the faster their experience increases.

Generally, Grim Student was the best position in Tier-2 to gain comprehensive and overall improvement, but it wasn’t easy to survive as one.

[ Admiral Rudra: Give me reports. ]

[ Dylan: I am ready. The moment I sense Natalia’s string instruments spreading vibrations through the cavern, I will begin. ]

Dylan Makana, the old monster who specialized in terrain shifting, earth, volcano, and such, struck his pickaxe on the crystal at his position.

Instantly, the entire place started shaking as if an earthquake.

People began panicking, and alarms rang as everyone rushed to evacuate.

They were pretty deep in the underground and mining in this Tier-3 mine. It was sure death for the Grim Residents if they got trapped inside.

With chaos ensuing and surveillance eyes unable to observe anything, the other Regalons made their moves.

The problem of guards was solved by Almond as he used his One Grim Blade to sever their basic senses before teleporting them away from the storage compounds.

[ Lily: Hurry up. It looks like these eyes I am suppressing are being controlled by a powerhouse. ]

[ Almond: We got it. ]

With all guards disabled, the other Regalons stationed at the storage compounds just had to do one simple thing.

Send all the crystals in the storage compounds directly to their Spirit Voiderran Realm.

Just like that, out of 27 storage compounds, seventeen were emptied out.

Regalons naturally didn’t stay there and hurried out alongside others after finishing their tasks.

[ Admiral Rudra: Everyone good? ]

Nobody had any hiccups.

[ Viktor: That was easy. ]

[ Christina: These are Tier-3 crystals, so I suppose the amount we gathered will maintain Spirit Voiderran Realm for a considerable time. ]

[ Silvester: What if in case we were discovered? ]

Suddenly, everyone heard Levi’s voice in their heads.

Levi chuckled and added.
