Chapter 525: Grim Student Examination (9/9)

In the 15th Round, Admiral Rudra acquired a huge boost in power upon manifesting his Rune of Power.

One by one, Regalons were grasping the power they needed to enter the top 1000 Grim-Potential Grim Student leaderboard in all of Grimverse.

Out of over 400k Grim Students with the highest class potential, these 1000 were the cream of the crop.

“It’s the 25th round. What are the rankings now?”

John Wicked entered the monitor room where a two-headed humanoid serpent was working his shift in observing the leaderboard and participants.

“You finally came. Well, they entered the leaderboard and rose rapidly since the 20th round. They are getting close to the realm of those real monsters in the top ranks.”

“Oh? Are they in the top 100 now?” John Wicked was surprised.

Getting into the top 100 was no easy feat. He barely entered the top 30 when he took the Grim Student Examination.

This wasn’t a matter of having higher potential, but the amount of preparation and boons that reflected in early positions.

The top 100 mostly consisted of exceptional prodigies from direct family members who had Grimlords as their ancestors or family heads, so all of them had rather strong innate talents and sources of power.

That was why those who ascended from the lower world might have the same crazy potential as others who were born here, but the difference would exist in early ranks.

After all, those who came up from the world couldn’t get help from strong beings and acquire innate sources of power. If that happened, they would gain experience so low that they might get stuck in the Grim Resident rank for hundreds of years.

Meanwhile, those born from strong genelines, especially from Grimlords’ families, naturally had a more extensive arsenal of powers innate in them upon birth.

So, people who ascended and managed to enter the top 100 in the leaderboard of the Grim Student Examination were quite impressive.

For instance, John Wicked was ranked 27th when he took the Grim Student Examination, but he had progressed faster and was stronger than any of those top rankers in that leaderboard. Heck, the 1st rank guy on that leaderboard was even killed by him later during a Cosmic Grim Student Tournament among the academies.

“That’s great. As long as they enter the top 100, they are considered real deal,” John said with a grin as he saw Almond and Lily ranked 113th and 117th, respectively, while Admiral Rudra was ranked at 221st and Big D at 337th.

Julian, Kexell, Arjun, and Viktor were still in the lower than 500th, but entering the top 1000 was already impressive and earned them the right to vie for top academies headed by Grimlords.

Half a month later, the last round was also over as the Grim Student Examination finally ended.

Almond had a beard and long hair now, since he didn’t cut his hair.

There were a few rounds that literally forced everyone to live for several years in a separate time-dilated dimension, so even though only 3 months passed by in reality, all Grim Students of Grim Potential spent a few decades easily.

Suddenly, Almond found himself at the edge of a beautiful world, facing a horizon of beautiful stars while a large waterfall fell into the void.

Next to the waterfall on this cosmic plateau was a beautiful house and a table filled with food. Almond appeared there.

“This is certainly a wonderful place to rest. If only Lily were here, it would be better.”

[ Mutual consent detected. The person you want to contact also wants to do the same. Connection established. ]

A portal formed in front of Almond.

“Darling?” Lily poked her head out of the portal and saw Almond.

“Great.” Almond smiled.

Lily came through and hugged Almond, breathing in his presence. “It’s been a while.”

“Indeed.” Almond warmly smiled and kissed her.

“Let’s eat and then rest. Looks like we can stay here for a while.”

Both of them sat at the table and started eating while looking at the notifications.

“Yep. That said, the law of time dilation was strong during the examination, so the decades we spent throughout the rounds were also counted for the Spirit Voiderran Realm. Thousands of Regalons are ready to become Grim Residents now.”

In just three months of reality, which was decades for participants and the Regalons inside Spirit Voiderran Realm, the progress was massive.

“How’s the energy stock holding up?” Lily curiously asked.

Almond ruefully smiled. “It’s about to be over in a month. If I hadn’t come up with a way to use the dimensional energies of the rounds using Riftveil to connect to the Spirit Voiderran Realm and keep it maintained, we would have lost many people.”

“Well, good thing you succeeded. As for getting more energy sources, we’ll surely procure them in the Academy.”

“Yeah.”

Soon, Almond and Lily finished eating.

They created a small pond nearby and filled it up with water from the waterfall before going to bathe.

Almond entered first and leaned back at the edge before Lily entered and sat between his legs. Almond’s hands naturally went to her twin weaks, who promptly started massaging and playing with them.

Naturally, Lily’s hands were not idle as she had grabbed Almond’s dragon from below.

“Let’s have a good, relaxing period for as long as we can here.”

“Yep.”

Almond and Lily were sleeping in the bed with their legs entwined and their faces having a peaceful smile, dreaming together about future times with a bigger family they could only imagine for now.
