Chapter 1137: The Days Gone By
Chapter 1137: The Days Gone By
Empyrean’s rate of growth was always impressive. However, it had only been a little more than a week in game yet somehow, Empyrean was now at a level that not even Izroth could seen through.
Although Izroth could not see through Empyrean with his natural perception or Energy Vision Sense, in the end, he was still his Soul Avatar. This allowed Izroth to view Empyrean’s information directly through the system. Though Empyrean’s growth did not just exceed Izroth’s expectations, it completely shattered it.
’Does it make sense to grow this fast in a week?’

Empyrean soared from level 37 all the way to level 100! Not only that, but his stats had grown to a shocking point. Especially, his mana and magic.
But, no matter how much Izroth thought about it, even if Izroth spent all day and nightr grinding levels, it should have been impossible for him to reach level 100 within such a short time frame.
’There are only two plausible explanations I can think of for Empyrean to have reached this level. The first is that he found an item that massively boosts one’s experience gains. Or, time moved much slower in the place he was trapped in on the other side of the Gate of the Separati.’
Izroth figured that it was the latter rather than the former. After all, even an SSS-ranked magic item or a grade ten pill shouldn’t be able to increase experience gain by that much.
Still, it if were a difference in a flow of time, just how much slower did time move in that place.
Izroth turned his attention over to Selene, who had also experienced a robust growth.
"Coo~" Selene cheerfully sounded as she moved to the top of Izroth’s head.

’She already reached seven stars? It would explain her form when she first emerged.’
When Selene first appeared after leaving the spatial tear, she was many times bigger than her form now. However, it appeared that she was able to control her size at will. From what Izroth knew about spirits like Selene, this meant that she could no longer be considered an adolescent spirit and had already stepped into early her adulthood!
"Seven days... Even if the time flow was 100 to 1, it wouldn’t add up." Izroth said to himself.
"2,068 days—that is how long we spent in that place." Empyrean stated.
’2,068 days... That’s more than 5 years..!’
Izroth was rarely taken aback; however, this discover was too much of a shock. If Empyrean’s words were true, it would mean that time on the other side of the Gate of the Separati moved roughly 295 times slower than the Mortal Realm!
Izroth had experienced time moving ten times slower, but this was his first time hearing that it could move more than 100- no, almost 300 times slower!
"Just what was on the other side of the spatial tear? More importantly, how did you get trapped?" Izroth inquired with a meaningful gaze.

Izroth had instructed Empyrean to prioritize his and Selene’s safety over all else. If there was even a hint of insurmountable danger, he should have immediately escaped. Yet, he became trapped in some unknown place for 5 years.
Empyrean released a heavy sigh, "Elder brother, all these years have passed, but I have never forgotten my promise to you. At that time, there was no other way. As for what was on the other side of the spatial tear—it is a long story. It will take some time to explain things properly."
"Coo..." Selene’s mood seemed to become somewhat dejected as she listened to Empyrean speak. The next moment, she lightly flapped her wings and jumped over to Empyrean’s side in an attempt to comfort him.
"Are you saying something or someone forced your hand?" Izroth said as his expression became serious.
"Yes, it is exactly as you say. We were left with no alternative but to enter that place. Otherwise, our younger sister would have been left to face danger alone. I could not allow that to happen, so I allowed myself to be trapped as well." Empyrean explained.
"The one who pushed the two of you to that point—do you remember?" Izroth said as the atmosphere around him shifted and became incredibly heavy.
Someone dared to go after his people and even push them to a point of no escape? Even if that person was the king of one of the seven kingdoms in the Mortal Realm, they would have to give him an answer!
Though Izroth had a good idea of who may have been involved the situation. After all, he found the Gate of the Separati in the secret underwater base. Nevertheless, someone like Zitra did not have the skills or means to trap Empyrean or Selene.
"That day, there were three people present. A man by the name of Polkentin, a man called Aidoneus Jestal, and a woman who I could not see through. She was only referred to as Holy Saintess by the other two." Empyrean answered.
"?!"
"Aidoenus Jestal—that’s the name of the current head of the Jestal family of Proximus. And, as far I as know, there is only one place in the Mortal Realm where one holds the title of a Holy Saintess and has enough status to be called as such by those two. And, that’s the kingdom of O’Tohelm." Izroth said with furrowed brows.
A crazed alchemist, the Jestal family of the Proximus kingdom, and a Holy Saintess of the O’Tohelm kingdom. On the surface, this pairing did not make sense. These were, by all means, not individuals who should be interacting with one another.
"During that time, we were gathering materials in Kifa Karsts. That’s when we ran into those three. The one called Holy Saintess seemed to show a particular interest in our younger sister and wanted to take her by force. And, the one called Polkentin set his sights on me. I tried my best to stop them and escape, but I was too weak back then." Empyrean clenched his fists tightly.
"In such an unfavorable situation, you did well to keep yourself and Selene safe. You kept your promise. And, that’s what matters the most." Izroth said as he halted his steps and placed his hand on Empyrean’s shoulder.
’It’s likely that all three of them have already stepped into the legendary realm. As for what stage of the legendary realm, it’s hard to tell. But, seeing as how they could completely suppress Empyrean, at least two of them must have been at the late or peak stage of the legendary realm.’
Empyrean was considered a half-player by the system. This meant that he was capable of viewing information through the system itself. So, it should not be wrong.
Izroth theorized that someone like Polkentin had to have a major backer, or perhaps even several backers in order to fly under the radar with the experiments and research that he was carrying out. And, based on the information Empyrean just handed to him, it was possible that two of the backers were related to the Proximus kingdom and the O’Tohelm kingdom.
But, Kifa Karsts was also located in Amaharpe’s territory. If only those two kingdoms were backing Polkentin’s research, then why take the risk of operating in a place like Amaharpe and increasing the chances of being caught?
’It would be a foolish move. Unless, someone in the upper echelons of Amaharpe is also involved. How troublesome’
"Don’t worry. One day, the injustice you and Selene suffered, I will be sure to return it a thousandfold to those responsible." Izroth stated firmly.
For Izroth, it would have been easier to deal with if those from Malentansium or Tempest were behind it. After all, they were already on opposite sides. But, he could not move recklessly since even those who were supposed to be his allies may have something to do with it.
Of course, that was not to say that he was willing to just let things go. In the end, they had gone after those under his protection. For that act alone, regardless of their power or status, Izroth would not let them go.
’I have a feeling that something big is happening in the shadows of the Mortal Realm that will reveal its head sooner rather than later. It’s about time I call everyone together.’
