Chapter 389 - 389: Figuring out Michael’s Aubility
“Lord Michael. Those exploding Flame Marks were Blazelle’s Aubility, right? What about yours? Is it that clock timer?” Sheina asked.
Michael looked down at his chest and saw a significant increase in the area of his heart covered by the GodForge pieces.
Right now, he could feel GodForge’s power just hiding inside his heart.
Back when he was in the 1st stage of Body Formation, he could barely feel this power. He couldn’t even control it. Only through practice and with Virian’s help that he was able to somehow be aware of his own Aubilities.
However, that Aubility was involuntary. The reason why he didn’t use his Aubility early in the fight against Blazelle was because he didn’t know how to.
Only in the heat of the battle and the threat of her self-destruction did his subconscious finally activate his Aubility.
But now, absorbing this new GodForge piece allowed him to transcend to the second stage of Body Formation!
Because of that, he felt a substantial increase in his control over his own Diva and Aubilities!
If he wanted to, he could bring out his Aubility and his Diva anytime that he wanted!
He closed his eyes, borrowing the power of his GodForge pieces to summon his own Diva.
“Woah!”
“That’s so cool!”
“That’s so ninja!”
Everyone marvelled at the Diva above Michael’s head. Zion jumped up and tried to touch the robotic hand, but found that he was unable to interact with it. His hand simply passed through the Diva like it was just a visual projection.
Michael concentrated his mind, replaying the feeling he had just a few moments ago.
I was able to make a bomb timer that was able to connect with Blazelle’s own Aubility.
As he began to analyze how and why his Aubility worked the way it was, he realized something.
My Aubility was able to make Blazelle’s Aubility conform to a technological concept. I was able to make her conform to the concept of a modern time bomb where a circuit controlled whether a bomb was going to go off or not!
Could my Aubility have something to do with technology? Michael thought to himself.
That seemed very much in-line with what he had been doing in this world. He had always wanted to create more technological advances in the world so that comfort could be achieved universally.
Perhaps, his Aubility was influenced by that as well!
[There is reason to believe that your thinking is correct. However, more data is needed to form a conclusion.] ChatJK4 added.
This was its way of saying that he needed to experiment more to know about the limits of his Aubility.
If my Aubility has something to do with technology, then maybe I can create a smartphone!
Spurred on by this possibility, Michael closed his eyes and thought deeply about smartphones.
However, when he tried to think up the concept in his mind, he suddenly felt befuddled and was unable to concentrate or focus on a single thought.
It was like there was something blocking his mind. Perhaps the more accurate description was that his Aubility wasn’t advanced enough to create something advanced like a smartphone.
My idea is far too complex, he thought, frowning. I need something that is much simpler…
Finally, he settled on a very basic and simple form of technology that was always present back in his previous life. This was also one of the things that he implemented in this world as soon as possible.
He raised his hand, and suddenly, another large chunk of iron ore burst out of the ground and floated over to his palms.
As he concentrated on this concept, he felt the power in his chest start to churn. The GodForge piece was supplying him with power!
His Diva reached down and grabbed the iron ore, clamping on it with its mechanical fingers. Then suddenly, an upside-down L shaped pillar grew out of the hand’s backside and started to shoot out a red laser that sliced the iron ore into sharp edges.
“That’s so cool! What are you making, Bro Mike?!” Zion said, enthusiastically peering over the Diva.
Michael looked at Zion and gave him a simple instruction. “I want you to create a simple fire ball, okay? You’ll throw it at me whenever I say so.”
Zion was immediately down for it. However, Sheina quickly intervened.
“Lord Michael, I don’t think Zion is appropriate for this mission given his propensity for being too wild. Please, let me be the one one so that I can ensure your safety,” she said.
“Hey!” Zion shouted back, offended, but he didn’t refute the claims.
“Very well. Just a simple 4-star spell will suffice,” he said to Sheina.
The white-scaled Dragonborn nodded, putting on her game face.
As the Diva finished its transformation over the iron ore, the crude metal became a sharp-edged rectangular shape with a slanted triangle on top of it.
Yuna immediately recognized what it was. She had used this technology millions of times before in her previous life.
“That’s…”
At the very same moment, Michael nodded at Sheina and motioned for her to release the fireball spell.
A giant magic circle appeared in front of her palms, concentrating the mana inside her body to form a 4-feet diameter fire ball in the air. Its mere appearance increased the ambient temperature of the forest by a few degrees, giving everything a yellowish tint.
“Fireball!” Sheina shouted, shooting the 4-star spell towards Michael. And with her precise aim, it went straight down the middle without any deviations.
“Perfect,” Michael muttered.
As the fireball shot towards him at relatively fast speeds, he took the iron contraption from his Diva’s hand and threw it towards the fireball.
This small piece of iron metal would have melted inside this fireball.
However, it seemed to have been endowed with a strange power that was impervious to normal mana.
The rectangular iron contraption no bigger than an orange shot directly in the middle of the fireball and stopped at its dead center.
Just then, a strange power emanated from the iron box and spread throughout the fireball.
Suddenly, the fireball stopped in the middle of the air, completely frozen. Its momentum was stopped dead in its tracks.
“It stopped!” Sheina said, surprised.
It was at this point that Lylia came closer to the stationary fireball and noticed something more shocking.
“The Fire mana…it’s not moving!” she exclaimed.
The fireball seemed to have been frozen in time, with none of its flames flickering like normal. It stayed there, motionless, completely defying the laws of physics and magic.
“Isn’t this supposed to be impossible?!” Jaku stared in wonder.
Yuna was the only one who seemed to understand a little bit why the fireball stopped in the air.
She turned to Michael. “It’s because of the switch, isn’t it?” she asked.
Michael nodded. The thing that he created with his Diva was a simple switch that could be flicked on or off.
This was very basic technology, and was the foundation of some of the most complex creations in the modern world.
As of right now, this was the only technology he could manifest with his Aubility.
But still, he didn’t expect it to be as overpowered as this.
The switch could turn magical spells on or off!
