Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 696: Noblesse

Chapter 696: Noblesse

After finding out about the discovery in the Red Ravine, Michael wanted to immediately embark on the journey. He didn’t want to end up too late and have all the GodForge pieces already discovered.

The fact that Fudge got this information from Alaric meant that it was more than possible that the Major Factions were also interested in getting those pieces.

But first, he went on to visit Guillermo and the others to find out more about these royal blood Vampires.

He teleported in the front steps of an ‘under construction’ building in the middle of the territory.

Immediately, he saw Guillermo and a couple of other Vampires talking to the Rebornian engineers, seemingly offering their suggestions.

“I think that the image of the Iron Maiden bestowing blood into the Original Vampire would work well painted on top of the church, wouldn’t you guys think?” Guillermo said as he presented a sketch towards the engineer.

The Iron Maiden religion was quite niche, even in the Nation of Reborn. That was why the church they built was small to accommodate about twenty people inside at the maximum.

But now, the church was going through a major overhaul to expand this establishment into a major building, one that could house hundreds of believers all at once.

The head for all these improvements was none other than Guillermo and the other Vampires.

Once it was revealed that the Iron Maiden was the Gaia goddess they’d been looking for, the Vampires spent all of their time worshipping the lady clad in metal. They took to the words spoken by Fudge and the other preachers, and treated it as the truth.

“Ah! The Chosen One!” praised Guillermo bowing towards Michael as he arrived.

“What?”

“Yes, the Chosen One! The Iron Maiden would not have shown herself to you after thousands of years if you were not chosen by her personally. She must have known that you would cross paths with Vampires some day and set this all up for her revival! Huzzah!’

“Huzzah!” the other Vampires mirrored him.

Michael still didn’t know why the Iron Maiden appeared when he awakened his Aubility. Perhaps, a sliver of her consciousness was coincidentally left inside the GodForge piece he obtained, or perhaps they were right in that the Goddess chose him because of his special circumstance, i.e. a reincarnator.

Either way, maybe he’ll be able to learn more about it from the so-called records that the Original Vampire left before they disappeared off the face of the earth.

And judging from the fact that Guillermo and the others were decorating the new Iron Maiden church according to their belief of Gaia, it seemed that they were more than familiar with this record.

“Where did you learn all of this stuff anyway?” he asked as he ran his fingers across a grand pillar. This particular decoration depicted the scene of the first creation of the Vampire race carved out of marble.

“The history of Gaia and the Vampire race is taught to us from a very young age,” said Guillermo. “We are taught to familiarize ourselves with Gaia so that we may recognize her when we try to find her in the world.”

One of the Vampires noticed Michael’s fascination with the grand pillar and explained, “That shows the first few people that the Original Vampire converted and saved from death. They became the start of the Vampire race.”

Michael remembered that Vampires had very long lifespans, reaching up to almost a thousand years! It could very well be possible that there were some Vampires still alive today who were able to witness the birth of the Vampire race, or maybe had even been a part of it.

“Do you guys know of any royal blood?” he asked them straight up.

Guillermo perked up. “Yes. The Vampires that are a direct descendant of the first few Vampires are called royal bloods because of their connection to the Original Vampire.

They are the equivalent to Prince and Princesses back in our homeland. After all, they are still blessed with the power of the Original Vampire. They are much stronger, faster, and more talented than us normal Vampires.”

Michael noticed the obvious look of respect on the Vampires’ face when he mentioned the royal bloods.

“You seem to think well of them,” he mentioned to Guillermo.

“They deserve it,” Guillermo replied. “Even though they are called royal bloods, they are the ones that serve us instead. They have inherited the Original Vampire’s power as well their doctrine of goodwill. They follow the adage, ‘noblesse oblige.’”

Michael was glad to hear that. For every Purist Vampire in the world, there was a royal blood that countered their evilness perfectly.

“I’ve heard that they arrived in Metropolis just recently,” he said to the Vampires.

Guillermo wasn’t surprised at all after hearing that. “They must have heard about the Purists and went to exterminate them. They make it their life’s mission to make sure that those bastards don’t tarnish the name of Gaia. They must have been wondering what happened.”

Maybe that’s why they visited Alaric.

“I must inform them of the Iron Maiden as soon as possible!”, Guillermo declared. “They deserve to know that we have found our Goddess Gaia!”

“Do you want me to find them?”

Guillermo shook his head. “No, they’ll find us. They’re going to scour the entirety of Metropolis to find answers.”

“Well, I’m going to the Red Ravine. I’m going to ask Alaric if he knows where the Vampires went off to,” he said to Guillermo.

“Red Ravine? What’s that?” Guillermo asked.

Michael explained to him about the discovery of GodForge pieces, and how almost all of Metropolis would be participating in the expedition.

“That’s it, Michael. They’re going to be there,” Guillermo asserted.

“How do you know?”

“I just have a feeling. I’ll accompany you to the Red Ravine and meet with them!”

Just a few hours later, Michael brought out his Drone and entered its Pocket Dimension. As soon as he stepped foot on the Control Room, he began piloting it from the inside towards the Red Ravine.

Thanks to the map provided by the Duchess, he knew exactly where to go.

It took him a few hours, but he finally reached a part of the Queens region filled with nothing but grey, deep canyons all around. And even with his Drone Vision, he couldn’t see the true depths of these ravines, making it quite dangerous for normal people to traverse.

Despite the numerous gorges around him, he quickly found the one that was supposed to contain treasures.

Up in the distance, he saw a ravine wider and deeper than any he had seen as of yet. Not only that, but the ravines were blood red in color, as if showing how much human lives had been lost trying to explore such a natural creation.

The Red Ravine looked like it was the product of two tectonic plates being cut in half, forcefully torn open, to allow humans to peer deep down through the cores with the allure of mystery.

And using his Aubility Vision, he was able to see a large collection of orange glows in the distance.

It was a gathering of Maugnetics!
