Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family

Chapter 834: High level play

Chapter 834: High level play

“You want to watch the RLB games?” Michael asked him.

“Of course. Now that you’ve shown me the wonders of this sport, I can’t help but want to see high-level play for myself. From what you told me, even though those players don’t have the same physical prowess that Werewolves have, they still use their tenacity and their skill to triumph in the game.”

Chief Lupan knew that his knowledge about baseball was merely the tip of the iceberg. The fact that he was simply endowed with a physical strength meant that even a half-hearted swing would result in a probable hit.

So, in order to give baseball the proper respect that it deserved, he wanted to learn everything there was to know about the sport.

Unfortunately, it seemed that he wouldn’t be able to do that anytime soon. The Lunar Celebrations required a lot of preparations that he, as a Chief, had to arrange.

Michael did say that travel to the Parched Lands would only take a few days at most, which he didn’t quite believe, but even then, he simply didn’t have the luxury of time.

“Wait here,” Michael said, before teleporting again.

Chief Lupan experienced deja vu. The last time Michael did this, he brought with him baseball as well as the Dragonborns who turned out to be Maugnetics.

Michael reappeared a few minutes later. Then, with a grin on his face, he brought out a rectangular metal brick and presented it to the Werewolf Chief.

“Sorry for the delay. Now, let me introduce to you the wonders of this new product called the phone!”

Chief Lupan took the phone in his hands and observed it with confusion in his face. “Is this supposed to be a joke I don’t understand?”

It just looked like a metal stone.

Michael took the phone back and controlled it.

On the home screen, instead of four, the apps now grew to five icons.

The new one was an image that only people from his previous world would recognize. It was a television screen, with two antennas sprouting from its top.

On the bottom inscribed the title;

{RebornTube}

Michael opened up the app, seeing only a single rectangular image inside. It was a picture of a baseball field filled to the brim with spectators wearing two distinct red and blue colors.

“How did you fit a portal inside something so small? And why does my nose not sense any magical spell from it—-”

But when he tried to put his hands through the ’portal’, he inadvertently touched the play button, causing the image to start moving.

“Moon heavens!” Chief Lupan gasped.

A loud raucous cheering boomed out of the phone’s speakers, startling the Werewolf Chief.

“What—what’s happening?!”

For an instant, he thought he was seeing a portal that led straight in the middle of a war.

But as he got his bearings, he realized that those were not screams of pain. Instead, they were cheers of celebrations.

Then, the video panned closer to the field, with Chief Lupan immediately recognizing that iconic diamond plate from a near top-down perspective of the field.

“That’s baseball! They’re playing baseball!” he realized.

The video continued to show as a baseball player in a red uniform pitched a fast slider for a called strike.

Soon after, the spectators in red cheered once again, waving their merch paraphernalia in the air.

“This is a video captured live from the arena,” Michael said nonchalantly.

“Video… live…?” Chief Lupan muttered. These terminologies escaped him. But he could see that this little metal brick showed a perfect replication of reality that was on the other side of the continent, thousands of miles away.

“You mean to tell me that this game is happening right now?”

Michael nodded. “Yeah.”

“But how can this be? I don’t see any magic nor Aubility Power coming from this object.”

“That’s a trade secret,” Michael winked. “Just know that with this phone, you can watch all the RLB games live from the comfort of your own home every night.”

After hearing Chief Lupan’s desire to see the games, Michael was struck with inspiration. He remembered that one of the most popular apps in his previous life was a video streaming service. It was a staple of his and everyone else’s life back then.

So, with a little bit of help from ChatJK5, they easily created another app on the phone.

Since he didn’t have time to create a camera, he used his Drone and connected it to the phone, livestreaming the arena in crystal clear quality.

In the future, he would either create a normal camera to stream the game, or he would dedicate a Mini Drone to be in charge of the app’s videos.

But for now, this would suffice. He was able to perfectly show the potential of the app to another customer.

Chief Lupan wasn’t even able to say anything more about the phone since he was too enthralled with the current baseball game. “OH! What a close one. It looked like he was out!”

Michael chuckled. The Chief was hooked!

After showing him the livestreaming app, he demonstrated the other uses of the phone, such as taking pictures, calling, and even summoning a delivery for this thing called beer and soda.

“So. Do you like the phone?”

Chief Lupan faced Michael with another crazed look on his face. “This phone is magnificent! I must have it. Our tribe must have it!”

Just the mere fact that they could watch baseball from this little metal brick made it a non-negotiable need in their lives.

“I can only manufacture—”

“We need 1,249 phones!”

“…about 100 phones for now…”

Chief Lupan immediately wanted to purchase a phone for the entire tribe, knowing that they would appreciate all of its features. Not only that, but this was a product that cannot be found anywhere else. He’d be an idiot not to buy as many as he could.

“We’ll take all that you can give,” Chief Lupan said. “But I wish that you can provide everyone with a phone in the near future.”

Michael nodded. He was only comfortable accepting so many orders before he was able to create the phone factory.

“Here’s the payment. It is blessed by the moon god itself!” Chief Lupan said as he slid a fur-lined chest towards Michael.

After hearing the price from Michael, the Werewolf Chief didn’t hesitate to bring out his coffers.

Michael opened the chest, indeed seeing a mound of Sand Dollars equalling to a million. He was sure of it because this was not the first time he saw a million Sand Dollars.

Now, he had more than two million in his inventory.

He had so much more than what he even knew what to do with.

I should really start spending my money.

He decided that his next step was to finally visit Serena and the other Mermen in the New Sparta lake. He needed Soo drops.

After all, he hadn’t even made a Mini Drone dedicated to Jaku yet, even though it had been more than a few days after his awakening.

Now, he also had to make one for Umisu, given her recent awakening.

Not only that, but he also had to look for more people willing to sell GodForge pieces. It’s about time he advanced the Dragonborns.
