Chapter 2445: Chapter 2439: Should I Really Accept It?
"Wait a moment." Just as Qin Xue and the others were about to leave, they were called back.
"Master, a wolf is calling you." As Qin Xue and her group continued forward, Xue Ling halted them.
"What?" Qin Xue looked at Xue Ling by her feet, puzzled.
"That wolf is asking you to wait." Xue Ling turned to look at a white wolf emerging from inside.
"Is there something you need?" Qin Xue pulled Chu Molin to a stop and turned to ask.
"I’ve heard from the second wolf about you; we have nothing to thank you with, so we’re giving you a young wolf. We hope it can protect you." After saying this, the mother wolf went back into the cave and brought out a wolf pup.
Qin Xue was stunned, this was a gift for her, but how was she supposed to raise it? The law clearly states that residents cannot have these as pets. Should she accept it or not?
"We can’t keep this wolf with us, please keep it yourselves; otherwise, I’m afraid I won’t be able to take care of it properly." Qin Xue waved her hands repeatedly. She wasn’t someone who raised pets. Although she had pets, they were self-sufficient. It was already enough that she didn’t exploit them, let alone take care of them.
"Just accept it. For the young wolf to follow you is its fortune. I know you are not ordinary people, and I trust the young wolf will protect you well." The second wolf thought that in that magical place, if the young wolf were there, it would only be beneficial, without any downside. Moreover, these people were good-hearted and wouldn’t abuse it. For such people, allowing its son to follow them would be something they’re willing to do. It didn’t feel there was anything wrong with its mate’s decision. In their hearts, seeing their children become independent is what they desire the most.
If Qin Xue knew the second wolf thought this way, she would definitely say that its philosophy was just like that of an eagle. Eagles, too, let their young fly solo as soon as they’re able, even if it means they might fall. They must get up on their own and continue trying to fly, sometimes being pushed to launch from high places until they learn.
Just like some humans, no matter how many times they fall, as long as there’s hope, they will get back up, try repeatedly, face challenges over and over, until they succeed. At that moment, they become figures others look up to.
Qin Xue admired such tenacious people because everyone was in the same boat, without any significant backing. By the time they succeeded, they had already experienced enough setbacks and gained wisdom, figuring out how to tackle various challenges and do what’s most beneficial for themselves.
No matter the situation, Qin Xue was perplexed. First a fox, then a snake, and now a wolf pup—what next? It seemed like her place was turning into a shelter.
"Chu Molin, what should I do here? Should we really take it in?" Qin Xue didn’t know how to respond and decided to see what Chu Molin thought.
"It’s up to you, really. You have your space, and no one would know you’re keeping a wolf if you don’t let it out." Chu Molin hoped she would bring it along.
Having a loyal wolf would mean having a strong companion; it would be better for her safety. However, wolves eat meat, and that’s not cheap.
Properly raising it would be a challenge, but given the current situation, accepting it was better than not. Handing over their child was not a casual gift—it meant the wolf parents had good judgment, knowing who was kind and who wasn’t.
In the end, when Qin Xue couldn’t refuse anymore, she took the bewildered wolf pup with them. The lead wolf and its pack returned to the depths of the snowy mountains, back to their peaceful lives.
