Chapter 909: Chapter 903: Jing Yuan’s Success_1

After Jing Xin finished speaking, he drank up the water from the bowl in two gulps. Jing Yuan saw this and was delighted. This was far too easy.

“Brother, give me the bowl. I’ll take it to the kitchen.” Jing Yuan came forward to take the bowl from Jing Xin’s hand and went into the kitchen. The effects of the drug, as described by the pharmacist, should take a few minutes to start. So, she wasted a few minutes in the kitchen before stepping out.

Jing Xin didn’t feel anything unusual after drinking the water. In a short while, however, he started feeling a bit groggy. He shook his head, feeling disoriented. He was a man of special training and could resist falling asleep, but the potency of the drug Jing Yuan had slipped him was too strong. Even he hadn’t encountered such a potent drug before.

Jing Yuan looked at Jing Xin as he struggled to keep himself together. She bit her lower lip and walked towards him. She had to wrap this up quickly, otherwise once Fang Xiu returned, all her scheming would be wasted.

“Brother, are you feeling alright?” Jing Yuan asked softly.

“I’m not sure. All of a sudden, everything is spinning.” Jing Xin looked at the smiling Jing Yuan, having a strange feeling that something wasn’t right. However, looking at his innocent-looking sister, he dismissed his suspicion. As much as he didn’t want to question his own sister, the fact that he had started feeling groggy right after drinking the water was too much of a coincidence. The question was, why would she do this? Jing Xin was at a loss.

“Maybe you didn’t sleep well last night. How about you go rest for a bit? I’ll keep watch here. If we have any customers, I can call you.” Jing Yuan suggested to Jing Xin. Her tone was steady, but inside, she was growing frantic. Why wasn’t the drug working yet? Hadn’t the pharmacist said that even the most robust person would succumb to it? What was going on with her brother?

“Fine,” agreed Jing Xin. He wanted to understand what Jing Yuan was up to, so he followed her suggestion and went to rest in his bed.

Jing Yuan watched as Jing Xin finally left the room. She kept her eyes on his room, waiting for it to go quiet. Once she was assured of no movement, she smirked in triumph. Even her elder brother had fallen for her plan. If it didn’t work this time, she would never get another chance. Knowing how clever her brother was, once he woke up, he would surely guess it was her doing.

If she could make Jing Xin fall asleep, he would certainly feel responsible for her due to his character. Even though he couldn’t marry his own sister, he would never abandon her.

Quietly, Jing Yuan moved to the bedside and watched her sleeping brother. She reached out and touched his face.

She rarely had a chance to observe her brother this closely. When she stood next to him in the past, she always kept her head low to avoid him seeing her real intentions. Now things were different, and soon she would be with him.

Adrift in her thoughts, Jing Yuan began undoing her clothes. Jing Xin, who was initially trying to resist, felt too drowsy. He closed his eyes to rest and, after a while, found another body in his arms. He smiled, thinking his wife had come back.

“Xiuxiu, you’re back,” the now half-conscious Jing Xin said, not realizing what was about to unfold.

Hearing Jing Xin whispering her name, Jing Yuan was momentarily upset, but she knew Fang Xiu was his wife. So, she remained silent at this moment and continued with her plan, determined that no one would stop her.

Meanwhile, full of joy, Fang Xiu returned home with groceries. She had intended to tell her husband that she found bass at the market, which she bought to cook steamed bass for him.
