Chapter 1023 - 1023: Crossover Logs, Logs 5 & 6: Alvey Sargon and Jack McEnda III
Crossover Logs: Alvey & McEnda III
Yep, I’m mashing their logs together and doing a two-for-one special because, honestly? I’m too tired to write two separate ones.
Do they each deserve their own log? Absolutely. Do I care enough to do that? No.
I mean, come on—I just woke up from my first actual sleep in 10 days, only to find the Author banging at my door with a laptop, demanding that I put down some overdue logs.
And let’s be clear—it’s his fault these logs are late.
Why the hell was he so fixated on making Rebellion land on Chapter 1000?!
Rants aside, let’s get right to it.
Alvey Sargon & Jack McEnda III
Two names that carry weight across the battlefield, even beyond Aramis. They’re the definition of young and famous, the two special catches that almost every Demon Noble family with a daughter wants to wed them to.
Too bad they’re both taken.
They’re known as the infamous ‘Demon of Light’ and ‘Demon of Darkness’ and those titles aren’t just for show. These guys have earned their reputations through raw power, strategy, and a terrifying level of efficiency in war.
Alvey, the ever-pragmatic general and McEnda, the half-serious scheming Archdemon.
They complement each other so well that it’s honestly unfair to the Aramisians they’re fighting against. One plans five moves ahead, while the other makes sure the pieces are in place before anyone even realizes they’ve been played.
Both of them come from high-ranking families in Gozon’s Ruling Class.
Alvey was born into a noble house that ended up expelling him—a big mistake on their part since he ended up becoming a hotshot—while McEnda carries the prestigious lineage of the McEnda Archdemon bloodline, a family that has NEVER lost its Zeroth Rank status.
If that doesn’t tell you how broken their genes are, I don’t know what will.
Now, why are they on Aramis? Simple. Conquest. The Demon Kings saw Alvey’s potential and sent him, and McEnda tagged along because, well, it’s what he does.
Okay, McEnda actually had a logical reason to tag along—besides his father tossing him here—but I’ve honestly forgotten it.
Anyway, they’re here to lead armies, crush resistance, and turn this planet into yet another trophy for Gozon. And judging by how things are going, they’re doing a damn good job of it.
Side; Alvey: The Cold Strategist with a Blinding Legacy
Alvey has the kind of presence that makes people feel like they’re two steps behind even when they think they’re ahead. He’s calm, collected, and always thinking about the bigger picture. Unlike McEnda, who has a bit more charisma, Alvey isn’t too concerned with how people perceive him.
His main priority is winning, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t leverage his reputation if the situation called for it.
The way he handles war is something else entirely.
From what I hear, he took down a mobile sea fortress called the Triton’s Ark—a stronghold that had been giving the Demon Navy hell and was considered impenetrable by the Aramisians—in a single day.
Then he conquered an entire continent in less than a month.
People don’t just ‘do’ these things. They require planning, foresight, and the ability to execute those plans flawlessly.
He’s an Irregular, like Arthur, Jamie, and myself, but of a much lower grade, so Causality doesn’t have headaches trying to deal with him.
No one knows how he evolved himself into a Greater Demon, but I’m pretty sure his Irregular nature has something to do with it.
To wrap this up—the guy has built a track record so impressive that even the Demon Kings who rule over an Intergalactic Empire have their eyes on him.
Side; McEnda III: The Smiling Darkness with a Calculated Blade.
Jack McEnda III, or just McEnda if you’re lazy like me, is an entirely different breed of menace. To his enemies, of course.
If Alvey is the calculating tactician, McEnda is the wildcard who makes sure things go according to plan while still having fun.
His synchrony with Alvey reminds me of Artemisia and Beatrix’s dynamic, except in this duo, he’s the friendlier one.
Oh, and he’s quite good at reading people.
But of course, his laid-back attitude shouldn’t fool you. When it comes down to it, he’s every bit as terrifying as Alvey—if not more.
There’s a reason why the Aramisians fear more than just the ‘Demon of Light’, and there’s a reason why, despite Alvey’s fame for his impressive track record, McEnda is still put on the same level as him.
And it’s not just because of his lineage.
He’s fought and won wars on other worlds before, taken down powerful enemies, and earned his place as one of Gozon’s most powerful battlefront world Generals.
Also, I should mention that he’s the child of a Demon King, which means his bloodline is top-tier even by demonic standards.
His Darkness law mastery makes him an absolute nightmare in battle.
I mean that quite literally. His Darkness actually corrodes his targets’ minds, forcing them to see nightmares in broad daylight.
Alright, now onto the part where I vent about the mess that is the future.
So, in the future, Alvey is dead, and McEnda III’s dad is dead. McEnda III himself has been missing for millennia… Am I missing anyone?
Ah, right. Sigesi—McEnda’s fiancée and future wife. She’s missing too.
I’m sensing a pattern here.
The future is truly an absolute mess compared to the present.
Alvey and Beatrix had a kid, and that kid’s now leading an invasion on Aidos—his mother’s home world—at his mother’s instigation.
Oh, and Alvey himself is nowhere to be seen because, again, he’s dead.
Supposedly, he died fighting a Celestial King, but knowing how strong he was, I have a hard time believing it was just one.
Because honestly, I can’t see a single Celestial King taking down Alvey, even the ‘Supreme’ Celestia King. Unless some insanely powerful dude showed up while I was off reincarnating.
McEnda III’s case is even stranger. He disappeared along with the remnants of Gozon’s 72 Demon Kings, and no one knows if he’s even still alive.
Seriously, what the hell happened during the time I was busy reincarnating?
Now, let’s just skim through their relationships with others.
Where’s the bullet point function on MS Word again…?
Not using computers for years can make someone forget even the simple things.
Anyway, I’ve found it so let’s get back to that relationship stuff.
• Alvey & Jamie – Respect. From Alvey’s end, of course. Jamie sees potential in him, but he also thinks Alvey needs to loosen up a bit.
• Alvey & Beatrix – Yeah, we already covered this. She’s crazy about him, and she makes it known. He ends up with her in the future so that’s all.
• Alvey & Artemisia – She respects his abilities but keeps a professional distance.
• Alvey & Arthur – A strange dynamic. They work together, but Alvey is wary of Arthur’s unpredictability. Given his position as a Demon General, he definitely needs to be.
Onto McEnda’s side of things.
• McEnda & Jamie – McEnda views Jamie like he would a Demon King, which is fair because Jamie is one. Unlike Beatrix and Artemisia, he doesn’t see Jamie as the neighbourhood uncle.
• McEnda & Beatrix – No deep bond, just occasional banter.
• McEnda & Artemisia – Professional respect but no real attachment.
• McEnda & Arthur – They get along, but Arthur’s antics probably give McEnda headaches. Who knows, I’ve not seen much of them together, after all.
Now, their powers, and abilities.
Both of them are Level 990+, meaning they’re pretty much one foot out of Mortality. That foot’s still hanging in the limbo between Mortality and Higher-Existence though.
Alvey specializes in Light and Space laws, giving him unmatched mobility and destructive capabilities. He’s also capable of Selective Destruction, so you can rest assured that his AOE attacks wouldn’t hurt you—if he considers you an ally, that is.
McEnda, on the other hand, uses Darkness law in ways that make even other demons uncomfortable.
Both have powerful Unique Skills, but I don’t feel like listing all of them because that would take another ten paragraphs. Just know that they’re broken.
Now, my Final Thoughts.
What does the future hold for them?
I already know the future, and NO, I am not pretending I don’t this time.
Alvey is someone who’s always reaching for something greater. If he were still alive in the future, I have no doubt he’d still be at the top of the universe’s power hierarchy.
McEnda? He’s the wildcard. No one knows where he is, and I honestly don’t know if he’s even still in this universe. Maybe he left like his grandparents apparently did.
But if he is alive, then I have a feeling that one day, he’s gonna show up out of nowhere and turn everything upside down.
…Hmm?
What’s wrong?
Why are you looking at me like that, Author?
Hey! Explain yourself!
—Wait, where the hell are you going?! Explain yourself!!
Damn it, he ran.
At least leave the Wi-Fi router!
Tsk…
Anyway, that’s my log. If you were expecting some deep, emotional take, you’re out of luck. I’ve written enough of these, and I need a drink.
End lo—What the hell do you mean I have to write another Outro?!
Because Arthur did? Arthur wrote his logs while lounging like a king, sipping on 300-year-old wine, and I haven’t even finished my strawberry smoothie!
Oi, reader! You better continue on my Reincarnated Hero’s journey.
Yours Insincerely.
Your Protagonist, Evankhell.
