Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 795 - 795: Betrothal Registration

Empress’ Tea Room

Royal Palace

Gerfast

November 24th

Year 1054

“What a lucky coincidence, you’re here as well. Now, we just need your husbands and everyone I need will be present.”

Such was Evan’s statement as he walked right into the Empress’ Tea room and saw the woman was with his ‘mother’ in this world, Duchess Patricia Eris.

Empress Claudia raised a brow in question, wondering exactly what it was that Evan wanted to say which involved not only them, but their Husbands as well, but the boy didn’t have any desire to repeat himself.

Naturally, Evan wasn’t to the level where he could just call the Emperor over whenever he felt like, so he requested the help of one of the very few people in the GWE who could—his wife.

While waiting, Evan received a call from Leviah, informing him that ‘Legion Celestial’ Fluviel had started making some strange moves while ‘Death Celestial’ Mortis was spotted near a cemetery at around 6 am.

‘That’s NOT good.’

For someone with ‘Death’ in their title, them being near a cemetery could only mean one thing and it made Evan sigh as that meant there’d be a lot more cannon fodder to deal with.

‘Great.’

He rolled his eyes just as Emperor Rudeus and Duke Roger walked into the room. With them now present, he told Leviah he’d be coming over before the week ended and cut the call.

Finally, he faced the other four people in the room with a few files with the seal of the ‘Ministry of Interior’ on them.

“Good morning all.

So as not to waste your time, I’d get straight to the point.”

As Evan held up the file, Patricia’s eyes caught sight of something on his hand, and his voice was instantly zoned out as she stared fixatedly at it.

She alternated her gaze between her hand and his, comparing the items there to see the similarities.

“So, I had a little something that I need approved by Your Majesty, but I also needed to inform the Duke and Duchess since they can’t be left out of the loop regarding this.

I would have gone through the proper channels, but then, the whole Gerfast would be aware of it within the hour and I don’t want anyone knowing till Laurene’s party tonight.

As suc-“

“W-wait, Evan.”

Patricia cut him off and when the boy turned to her, she pointed at his left hand and asked the question everyone present had been dying to ask.

“What’s that on your hand?”

Naturally, she was referring to the very obvious silver ring on his left ring finger, and Evan raised a brow before speaking.

“Oh, that’s what I came to talk about.”

He then placed the files in his hands atop the table between the two most powerful couples of the GWE, and a single glance was all they needed to know what it was about.

“Betrothal…registration?”

“Yep.

Since I’m waiting till I’m 18 anyway, I thought, why not just go with the full legal procedures.”

“…”

All four of them moved their eyes from the papers on the table and to Evan who sat down before them with his legs and arms crossed and a calm expression on his face.

Patricia picked up the papers and glanced through them.

Almost all the form fields were filled up; Names, Dates and Places of Birth, Nationalities, Contact information, Parental/Guardian Information, Legal and Health Information, Religious Affiliations, and Special Requirements.

Only the places where signatures and seals for Parents on the Groom’s side, Betrothal Details like Date and Ceremony location, and finally, Official Approval seals from the Emperor were left empty.

Emperor Rudeus glanced at the form in Patricia’s hands, feeling the magic power emanating from the seal on the “Bride’s Parental Information” Category.

‘That’s definitely the seal of the Vathax Council. How did he get his hands on this…?’

The answer; Eliza’s mother made a short trip to her husband’s office at her daughter’s request.

Looking at the form, Claudia understood why Evan wanted the Duke and Duchess present. As the current Eris Duchy Heir, there was no way Evan could have an engagement approved if the Duke was unaware.

As for Rudeus’ presence, the Emperor could NOT be unaware of a betrothal concerning a Great Noble Family at all.

If the Emperor objected, then the whole situation would become a serious hassle for said family.

While the man pressed his hands to his temples, Claudia posed a question that surprised them all.

“What took you so long?”

“The ring.”

“Didn’t I show you to a renowned sapphire dealer?”

Rudeus and Roger alternated their gaze between Evan and the Empress in surprise, just discovering that she was also involved in this, while Evan ignored their looks and spoke.

“Unfortunately, the shade of sapphires he had were all a tad bit lighter. It had to be the exact shade, couldn’t settle for less.

I had Countess Sofia go get them from Wescyae.”

“Wescyae? That’s down South. Just how much did you pay her to make her personally go on such a trip?”

“Enough that she had no problem leaving her shop for a week.”

Claudia sighed as she made calculations on the amount of money Evan had spent without blinking when Roger finally spoke up.

“Didn’t you say you wanted to deal with them first?”

By them, he referred to the Duchy’s vassals who were pushing for a marriage between Evan and Laurene, and hearing this Evan shrugged.

“You see, I had a little bit of a reality check recently, and I was reminded that I had more important things to spend my time and energy doing than shutting up a few old men and women.

As such, I came to the decision that the best way to deal with them, is to shut them up with power they cannot refute against.”

He gestured to the Emperor as he spoke, before cracking his knuckles while continuing.

“If any of them so much as grumbles about it after this, I will personally make sure they’d never grumble about anything ever again.”

A tiny hint of bloodlust seeped out of Evan as he said this, but though it was ‘tiny’, that amount of bloodlust from Evan was heavy enough that the Emperor’s guards barged into the room with weapons drawn in the next moment.

Rudeus sent them away shortly after, with him and the Duke coming to the understanding that if they didn’t want any Nobles disappearing overnight, then objecting to Evan’s engagement with Eliza was not an option.

The Emperor had still not figured out what happened to a certain Viscount who had a huge disagreement with Evan earlier in the year.

He was sure Evan had something to do with the man’s disappearance given how fearful his son who took over was of the boy, but he hadn’t found a single lead tying the Viscount’s disappearance to Evan.

Even more concerning was how the former Kings of Zoskye, Goshya and Osmaoque had disappeared not too long after their trials last year, and the Parliament members of Blealand who disappeared not long after Evan raided a Demonic Hand base there with Paladins of the Holy Kingdom.

If there was one thing in common with all these disappearances, it was the fact that there wasn’t even a single lead on all the situations. It was as if the people in question were ‘spirited away’.

“So? I’ve gotten the Maternal side’s approval. All that’s left is the Paternal side, as well as the Reigning Monarch’s seal.”

Evan spoke calmly and the two men present exchanged silent gazes.

◇ ◇ ◇

Fast forward an hour later and Evan walked out of the drawing room with three more seals on the files he held.

His next destination was the Ministry of Interior, and his goal was to submit them for documentation.

On his way out of the castle, he encountered the Cheverton siblings Charise and Christopher, in one of the hallways of the Outer Castle.

When he set eyes on Chirstopher, the young man flinched and took an instinctive step backwards.

Seeing this, Evan’s lips curled up into an evil smile as he also took a step forward and vanished.

He reappeared right beside Christopher and faster than the man could realize, Evan’s fist collided with Christopher’s stomach, lifting him off the ground and making him nearly vomit his breakfast.

Evan twisted his fist to increase the pain, pulling back and punching him once more in a flash. He then proceeded to pat the back of the fallen young man and spoke.

“Next time, don’t hit on someone’s Fiancée.”

With those words, he walked off casually, with Charise dumbfoundedly staring at him until he disappeared around the corner.

Only then did she snap back to reality and turn to attend to her elder brother.

By that time, Evan had already long since exited the Outer Castle and was teleporting his way to the Ministry of Interior.

When he submitted the registration files, the clerk nearly screamed out in surprise but a single glare from Evan forced that scream back down her throat and she silently went to submit the files to the minister.

Evan left the hall, his mind wandering as he thought of an addition to his outfit for tonight’s party. Although he initially didn’t plan to attend, Evan saw that this was the perfect opportunity to announce his engagement.

Well, he didn’t plan to say a word, knowing fully well that people would end up figuring things out on their own.

He just needed one person to point out the rings on his and Eliza’s fingers which were not there the day before, and the story would spread like wildfire.

‘If I wasn’t going to Tarse in secret, then I’m sure I’d be bombarded by reporters trying to interview me by tomorrow morning.’

Evan added it to his agenda for the day: to meet with his associates in top Entertainment News agencies to make sure they didn’t publish any strange newspaper headlines.

But first, he had to go to the nearest boutique and buy a ready-made Blue Rose patterned shirt, with a shade that matched Eliza’s eyes.
