Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 803 - 803: The Summoner’s Plot

“Looks like my Unarmed Combat skill still works well.”

Muttering this to herself, Eliza leapt onto another monster and her magic-infused fist sent it crashing down from the skies.

At the same time, Evan landed on the shoulder of the giant building-sized Gorilla, crouching with his fingers rubbing his chin as he thought.

“If I use Vortex, people would recognize me. Same with BoD, Mesarthim, Vindiction’s Strike and many other skills…”

He spent a few seconds to think about what skill he could use and his gaze settled on his Harbinger of Ice skill.

“If use this, even if people know I have it, they wouldn’t tie it to me. Besides, my Mesarthim is too popular so most people don’t know about HoI.”

With his decision made, he placed his palm on the moving Gorilla’s neck and activated the skill along with some other skills he stole from Leviah.

“Adamantine Might, Pierce Guard and…Energy Blast?”

Though the last was more of a question to himself, it still carried the command for activating the skill.

The Energy Blast skill was as basic as could be. People could even use energy blasts without the skill, but the skill did provide increased speed and damage so it was handy to have.

But in the hands of a powerful user, even such a basic skill could display enough power to flatten the City of Zlunard several times over.

It’s worth noting that Evan executed this combination of strengthening, defence-piercing, and projectile skills with his palm pressed against the target’s neck.

As such—

**BOOOMM!!

—the focused blast of ice energy shot into the monster’s neck and exploded, obliterating its neck and head, spraying blood, bone fragments, and brain matter everywhere. The shockwaves from the explosion rippled outward, shattering nearby windows and knocking both people and monsters off their feet.

The adventurers around were dumbfounded, staring in shock at Evan as his concealment was dispelled. Exclamations of surprise erupted from the crowd.

“…what?!”

“When did he get there?!”

“…”

“Unbelievable! He just obliterated it in one shot!”

“Who is this guy?”

The most surprised person here was Evan who had killed the monster.

“Damn, that died faster than I expected.”

He muttered this to himself as he got to his feet and removed the elemental shield which protected him from being drenched in blood, looking towards the shocked adventurers on the ground as the headless gorilla monster fell on its butt.

“Hey guys, just a random adventurer who decided to help out.”

All eyes went to the shining platinum card with ‘SS’ inscribed on it hanging from his neck, and many couldn’t help but question in unison.

“Since when did SS-Rankers become random adventurers??!!!”

Evan ignored the questions of the adventurers and instead focused on the five scythe-limbed monsters that suddenly appeared around him.

They swung their scythes at supersonic speed, however, they never hit their mark.

Not because said mark blocked their hits or dodged, but because they were all perforated with holes within a second, with enough going into their brains that they died instantly.

Only the S Rank Adventurers possessed good enough kinetic vision to see that Evan had spun around and released condensed bullets of icy energy (Via Burst Cannon) with his fingers.

Their attentions were quickly taken away when they found themselves enveloped in a light green light that healed their wounds and invigorated them.

“What are you guys standing around for? The monsters are not going to kill themselves, you know?”

Eliza’s clear voice resounded in the ears of the adventurers and mercenaries. Those who had felled their opponents took a few seconds to look around for the source and noticed the young woman seated atop a pile of monster corpses with a magic catalyst floating beside her.

They caught sight of the platinum card dangling from her neck and seeing her mask which looked just like Evan’s, they automatically assumed the two were related.

“Hurry up, we have to leave here by 3 pm.”

Eliza ignored the gazes of the adventurers and spoke to Evan, prompting the boy to look at his watch and note the time.

“But it’s 2:43 pm.”

“Yes. So, we need to round this up in less than 20 minutes.”

Evan glanced around, looking at the thousands of monsters running free and fighting various adventurers before shrugging. The weakest of them was Level 150 and the strongest were around Level 500 like the one he just killed.

“15. Put me on a timer.”

Making that declaration, Evan released a burst of icy energy from his body, freezing the legs of hundreds of monsters within a 250-metre radius of his position.

“Can you find the summoner?”

“North-East.”

At Eliza’s reply, Evan turned towards the specified direction and crouched, taking a deep breath before dashing off at supersonic speed.

**BOOM!

The remains of the gorilla monster he was standing on exploded due to the sonic booms, but by the time the blood could finish splattering, Evan was long gone.

He was blitzing through the city, one-shotting any monsters that entered his field of view. The majority of the monsters didn’t even know how they died, while the select few that could perceive him couldn’t react fast enough.

As Evan moved around at lightning speed, a net abruptly appeared in front of him and unable to stop his momentum, he crashed into it, getting caught in the sticky web that impaired his movements.

Ten Arachnes emerged from the crumbled buildings around, their beautiful, half-naked forms seemingly glowing under the sunlight. Simultaneously, their eyes glowed and they attacked him with charm magic, trying to cloud his mind while they infused poison into the nets, turning them green in an attempt to poison Evan whose body was trapped within.

One Arachne used corrosion powers, while another tried to ensnare his mind with illusions, however, these attempts were futile.

Evan’s Adaptive Evolution had long since granted him resistance to such attacks, and these monsters were not strong enough to bypass those resistances.

‘Only illusions on the level of Belphont’s can work on me I guess…’

The Hero had this thought cross his mind as he released a shockwave to break out of their encirclement. He sent shards of ice flying towards the Arachnes, then used Burst Cannon to launch aura bullets that had them jumping around to dodge.

Seeing the craters that appeared on the ground where Evan’s Burst Cannon shots hit, the Arachne’s felt cold sweat drip down their backs.

[Quick! Bind him again!]

[Charm’s not working!]

“But my lightning is!”

Evan’s reply to their words came with the activation of his Chain Lightning, sending a fat mass of golden lighting jumping from one to another.

Snapping his fingers, he used Pierce Guard and Elemental Skewer to make spears of icy light erupt from the ground, bypassing their defences and pinning them in one place.

The spears seemed to emerge infinitely, so even with their agility, the Arachnes had little space to dodge.

The moment any one of them slowed their movements to avoid the spears of light, Evan’s fist appeared from behind and he punched their backs, shattering their spines and blowing holes through their chests.

One by one, the Arachnes fell, unable to withstand Evan’s counterattack.

Just as he killed the ninth, the final one fired a powerful blast of poison magic that hit him in the stomach and sent him flying through buildings.

However, Evan stood up and walked out like nothing had happened, dusting his body off.

‘I didn’t even need to use my Dragon Scales; David’s Titanium Body was enough.’

The Titanium Body skill was a wonderful defensive skill, and due to it, Evan took zero damage despite how powerful the attack was.

| Titanium Body;

Type: Rare Mutated Skill

This skill fortifies the user’s physical form with the unyielding resilience of titanium, rendering their body nearly impervious to harm. This skill taps into the essence of the law of fortification, bestowing the user with a formidable defence against physical and magical assaults alike.

Due to its user’s special constitution, this skill has mutated and gained an extra ability.

Abilities;

Adamantine Endurance: Enhances the user’s durability, allowing them to withstand powerful blows with minimal injury.

Unbreakable Shield: When activated, creates an invisible barrier around the user, deflecting incoming attacks and reducing damage taken.

Resilient Frame: Strengthens the user’s skeletal structure and musculature, increasing overall durability and resistance to physical trauma.

Extra̸-̸

Magical Warding: ̵ ̴E̷r̸r̴o̶r̶!̴ ̷U̴n̸u̸s̷a̴b̶l̴e̵!̴!̷ .|

Since this skill originally belonged to the Anti-Magic eyes wielder, David, it had mutated to gain an extra Magic Warding ability. But as Evan did not possess those eyes, he unfortunately could not use it.

‘The base skill is still pretty strong though.’

Evan thought to himself as he used Hammerfist to create a large fist-sized construct which he used to punch the Arachne, smashing its body to the ground.

With Elemental Skewer, he created spears of icy light that pierced the Arachne’s head and heart, killing it instantly.

“Wow, all that work and not a single level.”

The Hero clicked his tongue in annoyance, about to take a step forward when two notifications appeared in his field of vision.

|Adaptive Evolution has been triggered. |

|Death Essence Resistance has increased. |

“…”

He remained stationary for a few seconds, trying to sense any hidden gazes on him, but he came up with nothing.

‘Oh well, at least I know he’s here. Phase 1 is going well.’

Evan acted like nothing happened, kicking off the ground and dashing in the direction of the Monster Summoner, completely ignorant of the hazy mass that was watching him from underneath the corpse of one of the Arachnes.

He arrived at the location and the sight he was met with was one that made him frown.

“Oh…damn. Those Arachnes were never meant to defeat me. They were just there to delay me.”

Since he wasn’t hiding his aura, all the monsters, adventurers, and mercenaries could sense his direction. The monster summoner, realizing he was headed for it, had summoned the Arachnes to buy time to finish its ritual.

And its plan worked perfectly.

The ground was littered with corpses—civilians and adventurers alike.

A large magic circle beneath them had drained their vitality, leaving their bodies as withered husks. Evan’s gaze shifted to the monster summoner, a creature that looked like a grotesque mixture of various monster parts.

But what caught his eye was not its hideous appearance or the fact that it was an ‘Artificially Created Monster’, but a single line on its status.

|Condition: Possessed|

“Possessed by what?”

Evan asked as he marked it with Track Down, but the answer he received was the monster screeching and invoking the circle, releasing a blast of magic power that knocked him back a dozen meters.

A giant blue gryphon with frost-flecked feathers and eyes glowing with cold fury emerged from the magic circle, radiating a powerful, icy aura.

“Ah shit, this reminds me of Silverwing.”

The sight reminded Evan of the source of his Harbinger of Ice skill, the Master of the ‘Cavern of the Frozen Harbinger’.

‘Wait a sec…what if ‘Cavern of the Frozen Harbinger’ is the true name of Harbinger of Ice’s pre-set bounded field?’
