Reincarnated Hero System

Chapter 977 - 977: Truths in the Silence

Evan lowered his head and cursed inwardly. But as he kept his head down, the others couldn’t see his expression.

He managed to control it before lifting his gaze.

Meeting Jamie’s eyes, the man pointed at the six circles floating in the air and spoke.

“The ‘Energy Factors’. Let’s hear them.”

“…”

Evan paused, silent for a moment.

Then, he began.

“The Bö̸͔̥̬̙́̀ͅo̴̗̥͔̯̿k̷͔̲̺̪̠͂ ̷̹̀̀̈͠ȍ̷͖̓͑͜f̴͖̣̞͆͗ ̸͙̗̖̪̘̋̾̑̽L̵͎͓̤̠͐̂̂ŭ̸͓͝i̸̡̯̺̐̀̽̍r̴̢̙̯̗̈́̕ḛ̸͉̹̤͌̓-̶̨̜̪͔̌͆̉ͅ!!”

“!!!”

Both Evan and Arthur winced at the strange static noise that filled their ears the moment the words left Evan’s mouth. It was painful to hear, but not unexpected.

With his experience from speaking about the events of Aidos Online, Evan figured out what was happening.

‘Makes sense, Alvey’s not a Demon King yet…’

The Law of Time was trying to prevent him from speaking about something that hadn’t happened yet. Whatever he was about to mention likely didn’t exist at this moment in time.

The Law of Time, aided by the autonomous law of causality, attempted to block Evan’s words—words from the future—from reaching the ears of Jamie and Arthur, who were still in the past.

It was a mechanism designed to prevent them from knowing anything ahead of time.

But the laws of time and causality were doomed to fail. The reason? Jamie.

Unlike Arthur and Evan, Jamie was a Grade 7 Singularity with complete control over his Singularity Nature. He was also a Complete Cosmic Being.

Jamie raised his right hand, and Arthur felt an overwhelming surge of cosmic energy gather in the palm. Without a word, Jamie clenched his fist, destroying the orb of cosmic energy.

The sound of cracking filled the air, ringing loudly in the ears of the two boys.

“That should hold for an hour. Carry on, Evan.”

Jamie had ensured there would be no further interference with Evan’s words, so after a brief pause, he spoke up.

“The light and spatial magic power from a Grimoire, belonging to a ‘Demon King’.”

“Light and Space? Aren’t those—”

“Alvey’s main powers? Yes.”

Evan cut Arthur off, answering before the godslayer could finish his question. At this, Jamie snapped his fingers, and Alvey’s portrait appeared in front of the first floating ring.

“Next.”

Jamie prompted, and Evan delved into his memories of the chaotic journey through space, recalling the words Artemisia had spoken to him.

“My ‘Blessing of Destruction’ Skill’s Destruction Essence.”

The emphasis on ‘Destruction Essence’ meant it was the key factor.

It was an imitation of Destruction law energy, created with magic power, which Evan had wielded before he became Legendary and gained the ability to manipulate ambient universal laws.

“Where did you get that Skill from?”

“It was given to me by someone, but I have no idea about their real identity. Just that they are associates of the same ‘Ally’ who told me what the spell did.”

Evan’s answer put them in a bit of a bind. This was one energy factor whose owner they didn’t know.

Couldn’t blame Evan as he had no idea who EOTD was even now. Sure, he had his guesses, but nothing concrete.

Jamie silently drew a line to cross out the second hologram circle before gesturing to Evan to continue. The boy called out the third factor, one whose owner they all knew.

“The Ice energy of Demon Sword Frostshade.”

“?! That’s Sigesi’s sword!”

Unsurprisingly, Arthur knew the name of Sigesi’s Soul Bound weapon. He also remembered Evan’s sword having Frostshade’s ability, which was definitely not unrelated to Evan’s forced time travel.

The Verglas Celestial Glazard had wielded this blade in the future, and its energy filled the air at the time Conroe activated the Tier 8 Magic.

Jamie edited the hologram, adding Sigesi’s image to the third circle. Without needing any further prompting, Evan continued.

“The Lightning energy of a Great Lightning Spirit.”

This was a factor whose owner Arthur could easily guess. He turned to Jamie, only to find the man looking at Evan with narrowed eyes.

“A Great Lightning Spirit, you say?”

“Yes.”

Kayla, no, Kaylatheurge, was a big figure in this time and Evan didn’t want to namedrop her. However, he didn’t need to as Jamie already knew it was her.

“This Spirit, is she a tall fair-skinned woman with long waist-length black hair that curls at the ends, noble gold-coloured eyes, and doll-like facial features?”

“(○□○)”

Although the mask concealed his dropped jaw from view, Evan’s widened eyes were enough for the others to tell that Jamie’s very specific description had struck the mark.

His description matched Kayla’s adult appearance exactly—the same one he had seen when her seal was released due to Belphont’s machinations.

“Who’s that?”

Arthur, still in the dark, asked, and Jamie kindly explained.

“The person I just described was Kaylatheurge. The Spirit Empress.”

Now it was Arthur’s turn for his jaw to drop. He hadn’t expected a Race Empress to be thrown into the mix like this.

Jamie, on the other hand, quickly pieced things together in his mind and shared his understanding with the group.

“On the day Evan arrived from the future, Rilene did not find the source of the Spatiotemporal disturbance for two reasons.

One was what I told you earlier: it disappeared before she could track it down.

The second, was because she was held up by a meeting with someone.”

Reaching for the wine bottle at the edge of the table, Jamie poured himself a drink as he continued.

“Slumbering within the Star Planet Aramis calls its Sun, was the Spirit Empress.”

He then pointed at the magic circle hologram floating above the table.

“The distance between the Sun and Aramis is hundreds of millions of kilometres, but to a Tier 8 Spell cast by a Deity with interstellar range? That’s still the same area of space.”

With Alvey and Sigesi on the Planet and Kaylatheurge on the Star, the Spell saw the 31st of March as the furthest point in time where they were in the ‘Same Area,’ and that was the day it chose to send Evan back to.

“That’s four energy factors out of six. What are the remaining two?”

Evan twisted his lips behind his mask when Jamie asked him about the remaining two energy factors.

His mind had already come to a conclusion, and despite his attempts to ignore or deny it, the evidence was undeniable.

With the energy factors already revealed, Evan had an idea. What if the first group of people he encountered were all connected to the spell?

‘I had landed in the middle of an abandoned playground, but knowing that the spell also considered Kaylatheurge who was millions of miles away to be in the ‘same area’, then perhaps, the reason I hadn’t landed right in front of them was because she was nearby.

What if her presence had tugged on the Spell, like how the gravity of a planet could tug on distant asteroids and this caused the spell to drop me some distance away?’

He halted his thoughts and looked at the two remaining empty floating circles.

Two Energy factors left.

“I was told the last two in the same sentence.

Quoting my ‘Ally’ verbatim: “Both of our Divini-“.”

Jamie and Arthur arched their brows at Evan’s sudden pause, but then recalled that Evan had mentioned his ‘Ally’ had not been able to finish speaking before the spell sent him through time.

Still, it wasn’t hard to guess what was meant to be said.

“Both our Divinities.”

In other words, the fifth and sixth energy factors were divinities from two different beings. The question now was: who were they?

Arthur and Jamie asked Evan with their eyes, and the boy sighed before answering.

“Guess there’s no point being secretive at this point. The ‘Ally’ who informed me about the spell’s effects and the energy factors; their divinity was the fifth factor.

As for their identity…”

Evan looked at Arthur as his words trailed off and Arthur quickly understood that Evan expected him to know who they were.

If they were a divinity wielder, the most likely answer was that they were from the ‘god’ race, and as soon as the thought crossed his mind, a name came to him.

He remembered the fight against Idrilla; when Evan had tacitly acknowledged her presence when he was sent back in time.

“Artemisia?”

“Bingo.”

Evan nodded in confirmation and snapped his fingers, replacing the fifth circle projection with an image of the teenage goddess.

Seeing the four images floating before him, Evan internally sighed.

“The ‘Future Artemisia’ told you that “Both Our Divinities” got absorbed. Meaning hers and “someone else’s” divinity.

The Spell was cast by an ‘unknown god’, who is the most likely candidate for being this ‘someone else’.”

Arthur spoke as he studied the floating projections, but before he could continue, he froze, noticing a commonality between the images they had projected.

“Evan…Three out of the Six factors you know the Spell absorbed belong to Three out of the first Six people you encountered.”

“…”

Evan remained silent.

“I could ignore one, I could ignore two, but three? This isn’t a coincidence anymore.”

“…”

Evan stayed quiet, but Arthur kept going with his deductions.

“According to Jamie, the Spell requires both ‘Time’ and ‘Space’ Authorities to cast. We know the spell was cast by a god with ‘divinity’, and the fact that the location it sent you was one ‘relative to the caster’.

Three of the Factors have their sources confirmed as people you encountered first on Aramis. Following this trend, if the last factor was also ‘divinity’ then no matter how you look at it, it’s very obvious that the caster is-!”

Arthur’s words cut off as he turned to Evan and saw the look in the boy’s grey eyes. Evan had run his hand down his face, inadvertently pushing his mask down and revealing more of his expression.

Seeing this, Arthur’s eyes widened in realization.

“You already figured it out…”

“…”

Evan didn’t respond, merely sighing and pressing his fingers to his temple, but that was enough for Arthur to understand.

He had indeed figured it out. The assumption that the sixth factor belonged to the caster seemed to fit perfectly, and after piecing everything together—including the clues he’d been putting on hold these past few months—, it was the only logical conclusion.

They checked all the boxes for the supposed caster of the spell.

Though Evan had tried to ignore it, denying it didn’t change the reality.

Evan’s mind replayed Jamie’s earlier words—that he’d already encountered the ‘unknown god’ who had sent him back in time.

He thought back to his first night on Aramis.

The conversation he had with a certain someone. (Chapter 855)

Towards the end, Evan had noticed something.

‘It’s just a reflection…right?’—were his naïve thoughts.

He stopped his brain from forming a conjecture based on the possibility that it wasn’t.

Just as the memory resurfaced, the door to the room swung open, and a cheerful voice echoed through the space.

“I knew I sensed Uncle Jay’s presence!”

The speaker bounced into the room, a wide smile lighting up their face—until they noticed the way all three guys were staring at them.

“Uh, why are y’all looking at me funny?”

Instead of responding, Jamie gave a wry smile and addressed the newcomer.

She was a beautiful teenage girl with long white hair and hazel brown eyes—the same colour as the Unknown god’s divinity. The same shade Conroe’s eyes had turned when he was possessed by them.

“It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Good to see you again, Beatrix.”
