“Seven WHAT?!”

Evan’s eyes widened in shock, his exclamation ringing out across the battlefield, and Arthur’s laughter only grew louder as he flipped through his gallery, showing Evan the pictures he and his friends had taken during a whirlwind tour of a Galaxy in his home Universe.

“The four of us went to this guy’s home.”

Arthur began, pointing at a tired-looking brown-haired boy who looked half-dead on the floor.

“While he was being trained by his brother in some secret technique, the three of us decided to visit a different planet every day.”

Evan scrolled through the photos on the tablet, his eyes stopping on a picture of two girls that seemed to be constants.

Both were objectively beautiful, with one having long black hair that spilt over her shoulders and almond-shaped green eyes, while the other was a bit shorter, with indigo-purple eyes and mid-back-length black hair tied into a rough high ponytail.

In nearly every shot, Arthur could be seen goofing around in the background, his antics adding a playful touch to their adventures.

One picture showed Arthur princess carrying the purple-eyed girl, both of them laughing as they sprinted away from a swarm of killer monkeys.

Another showed him fist-bumping a giant gorilla, both grinning as if they’d been friends for years.

In yet another shot, the green-eyed girl was locked in a tense gun duel with a group of cyborg cowboys, her eyes blazing with competitive spirit.

“Remember that demigod necromancer Idrilla brought back?”

Arthur asked, his voice casual as he flipped to another photo, and Evan nodded, recalling the unfortunate soul Arthur erased… twice.

“We met him on the seventh planet.”

As Evan continued flipping through the pictures, Arthur couldn’t help but smile at the memories they stirred.

For a moment, the blood-soaked battlefield faded into the background, replaced by the warmth of his friendship with the two in the photos and the thrill of their adventures.

Arthur hadn’t expected to feel homesick, but here he was. He found it almost laughable, considering everything that had happened in the past 8 months in Valmone.

“Eight months and 20 days.

I set a goal to become an Inferior Sovereign. And Here I am on the cusp of Inferior Transcendent.”

When Arthur said this, Evan glanced up at him and used Full Appraisal. Since Arthur had turned off his concealment ring, it worked without issue, displaying Arthur’s status.

Evan asked, shaking his head, and Arthur glanced over to see how his status looked from Evan’s perspective.

“Those are Stat Levels, right? Those numbers beside each stat.”

“Yeah. Your stats wouldn’t increase until your Level becomes ‘defined’ again, so you’re stuck like this until you actually become a Transcendent.”

Evan, having experienced being ‘Undefined’ for months before, already knew what was to happen.

“Your Universe’s system doesn’t have much in the way of Privacy laws, Evan.”

“The heck? What happened?”

Evan raised an eyebrow in confusion, and Arthur sighed, showing the last requirement for him to become Transcendent.

After reading the contents of the diaphanous board Arthur showed him, Evan’s eyes widened as he muttered.

“That’s your Unique Skill…”

“It’s a technique I created, but your Universe thinks it’s strong enough to be a Unique Skill.

It also considers each variation of it as a Unique Skill in its own right.”

Evan was taken aback by Arthur’s statement for a moment, but then he remembered the immense damage he’d seen Arthur deal with the variations of this technique, and it made sense why the System would see them that way.

The default ‘Extreme Nothingness’ thrusting attack that fired a beam and the AOE version Arthur called ‘Seismic Surge’ were powerful enough to be standalone Unique Series Skills.

“The Universe wants me to create a third, so it can properly understand the ins and outs of my technique which it fails to do due to the nature of my power being ‘Nothingness’.”

As Arthur spoke, he snapped his fingers and showed Evan two more messages that he had seen shortly after the strange Transcendent Conditions appeared.

They gave him enough information to conclude why these Conditions appeared.

It seemed the System wasn’t designed to handle Existential Records it couldn’t analyse, and now it was trying to force Arthur to turn Extreme Nothingness into something it could process.

“Wait a sec. If you make a third variation and it considers that one to be a Unique Series Skill…it’s trying to create an Ultimate Seed!”

Evan’s realization was met with Arthur’s confirming nod.

The System wasn’t trying to help Arthur grow stronger—it wanted to create an Ultimate Seed out of Extreme Nothingness. By doing so, it could fully understand everything about the technique that it couldn’t comprehend.

“But why is it telling you to create a third variation out of nowhere? That’s unreasonable! How long would it take for you to do…”

Evan cut himself off when he saw Arthur conjure a weapon out of magical power and coat it in a purple glow. The same purple glow that always coated his sword whenever he used the technique.

“…you’re already working on one…”

“I am.”

Arthur confirmed Evan’s words, pausing briefly before continuing.

“This is probably…no, it’s definitely the reason why the System added this condition.

Because I’ve already used something powerful enough to be considered a Third Variation of Extreme Nothingness, but I didn’t sustain it long enough for the System to compute it.”

After saying this, Arthur used his Time powers to replay his Memories of a Past Event that occurred in January of this year, before Evan got blasted from the future.

There Evan saw Arthur fighting against the Aramisian Divine Human Duskhand, and there, he saw Arthur used the third variation of his Extreme Nothingness to attack Duskhand’s past.

Seeing the attack, Evan nodded in silent understanding and spoke.

“Leaving aside how you can attack someone’s past from the present. The System already knows that Three Variations exist, but it needs more information about the third.”

“Yeah. However, I have not been successful at recreating the third.

Sure, the incomplete ones I’ve used were much more powerful than the one I used then since I’ve grown stronger, but if I were to scale down my power back to how I was then, then they wouldn’t even reach 50% of it.”

In other words, the completed Slashing Variation of Extreme Nothingness should be twice as powerful as the incomplete one he was currently using, which could already behead Inferior Stage Transcendents.

With this in mind, Evan turned to Arthur, posing what he considered the most pressing question.

“When you get your Ultimate Skill out of it, what’s it gonna be called? Extreme Nothingness Authority?”

The question pulled Arthur out of his sea of thoughts, and he nodded with a faint smile.

“Yeah. Simple is best. I’d change it if it tries to give me any cringe names.”

As it turned out, Arthur had apparently renamed a skill before because he didn’t like its original name.

After that, the two fell silent, their thoughts turning inward as they analysed the power upgrades they had gained.

Evan pulled up his status to check on his available skill slots and stat levels.

At that moment, Arthur rose to his feet and called out to Evan.

“Yo. Let’s go check out some Gozonian hot springs. Need to wash off before the blood dries.”

Evan, still scrolling through the Archive, nodded and closed the interface. Rising to his feet, he stretched his limbs with a tired groan.

“Yeah, let’s go.”

Arthur summoned a cosmic gate beside them, and within minutes, the two were crossing the vastness of space, heading back to Gozon.
