Chapter 1698 - 1698: The Mystery Behind The Bird
—–
Aquarina unleashed a consecutive barrage of techniques and powerful attacks, constantly pushing and damaging the gigantic monster with each blow.
Although it was incredibly tough and resilient, the bird was bound to begin bleeding from all the blows Aquarina rained upon the creature.
And with each blow, such wounds would worsen, making the beakless bird grow much more desperate at the same time-
“CRAAAH!”
The Sky King roared angrily, spreading out his wings and then flying towards Aquarina, kicking her face and stomach with both of its massive talons and large, long legs.
CLAAASH!
“Ugh?!”
Aquarina groaned in pain, despite her transformation and scale armor, she received a great deal of damage, feeling one of her ribs breaking and her scales shattering within the area of her stomach.
Right afterwards, the Sky King decided to escape. After all, this barrage of different attacks confused the monster, as Aquarina had a technique for literally every position!
“GRRRRHH!”
The Sky King quickly flew away from her, realizing a close combat fight would leave him at a disadvantage even though he managed to connect two blows on her, he knew that seeing how she acted, his strategies and techniques would be short-lived.
Aquarina was capable of rapidly adapting to her foes’ fighting styles and creating new techniques on the spot, making her an immensely dangerous foe to engage on close quarters!
“Hey you fuck!”
Aquarina kicked the sky using her Heavenly Step Skill and rushing behind the giant bird monster.
However, at that moment, Pyuku greeted him, floating right in the middle of his path. The Sky King’s eyes widened, as dozens of tentacles suddenly wrapped around his entire feathered body.
“I got this, Aquarina!”

His tentacles wrapped around the Sky King rapidly, coiling his wings, body, and legs in an instant, and then beginning to rapidly crush him without mercy.
“CRAAAAHHH!”
The bird let out an agonizing scream as its entire body stopped flying, and even its own winds became weaker as Pyuku started draining his Mana by merely touching him.
“{Mana Drain} is a pretty useful Ability, huh?”
Mana Drain was among the strongest abilities he possessed, one he had obtained from devouring many monsters and combining their power. Specially, the parasitic effect of his alien ancestors, which became one with him.
“CRYAAACK!”
The bird fell from the skies alongside Pyuku, the two collapsed into the nearby cliff, smashing it into pieces as giant boulders exploded everywhere, falling from the tall mountains all the way down the jungles.
CRAAASH!
RUMBLE!
As this happened, mountain-sized cliff trembled, as the winds of the Sky King came back, beginning to gather around him furiously as they started to slice through Pyuku, even as he rapidly regenerated back.
“CRAAAAAH!”
The Sky King entered in panic as he saw Aquarina, Justicio, and Silvia rushing towards him! His winds became stronger and stronger, beginning to overwhelm Pyuku.
“Uuugggh! P-Please hurry and finish him off, everyone!”
As Pyuku complained, Aquarina reached him first, then Justicio and Silvia! All three friends unsheathed their weapons, attacking the bird from every angle.
“HAAAAH!”
Aquarina’s twin daggers were encompassed by abyssal energies, growing larger and sharper in size and sharpness, and then as she descended, she spun around, resembling a tornado of darkness that sliced through the bird’s tough feather armor.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
As the barrage of slashing and stabbing attacks encompassed the Sky King, Justicio rushed forward, transforming his physique armor into his Giant Fire Ant form, he unleashed an inferno of flames as he tried to burn the bird with his axe attacks.
“Burn!”
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
The bird groaned in agony, its winds rapidly condensing into spheres of spinning whirlwinds that quickly bombarded Justicio and Aquarina away, only for Silvia’s massive hammer to smash its head with all the strength she had.
“Take THIS!”
Her mechanical hammer, packed with as much power as possible, smashed the bird’s head directly, descending from hundreds of meters above to gain as much force as possible.
BAAAMMM!!!
RUMBLE!
When Silvia smashed the bird’s head, cracks spread through the entire mountain-sized cliff all the way down, making several large boulders fall off.
“C-CRAAAH…!”
The bird was still alive, however. Silvia’s attack would have usually smashed the head of a giant fire ant into pieces, and yet the Sky King’s much smaller head was still there, although bleeding quite a lot.
“I-Is it not dead yet?!” Aquarina asked.
“Let’s take it down now!” Justicio said.
“We should probably try to destroy its head, but seeing how tough it was, we’ll have to go all-out,” Aquarina said. “Let’s-“
“W-Wait!”
However, out of nowhere, they were all stopped on their tracks, as long arms and hands made of water stopped the trio from finishing off the Sky King, whose magic was now gone, and barely conscious, the creature was at death’s door.
“Agua?!”
Aquarina glanced at her friend, who had stopped her and her friends from killing the creature, her Aqua Arms had divided into many more arms made of water, which she used to restrain them slightly.
“I-I’m sorry, but I think I heard something…! That bird was talking!”
“Eh?!”
“W-What?!”
“Talking?”
Justicio, Silvia, and Aquarina were left almost speechless by her words. They were pretty sure they didn’t hear anybody talking before, and not even Pyuku with psychic abilities heard anything either.
“Y-Yeah…” Agua sighed in relief. “That bird is…! I heard him crying, he was… he was sad! I don’t know how but… I heard a very sorrowful voice coming from him and-“
As Agua was trying to explain to them what she heard, suddenly, something happened to the Sky King.
FLAAASH!
His entire enormous body started glowing brightly, turning into white light and then green light, winds were released from its body, as Pyuku quickly escaped from it.
“W-What’s going on now?!”
Silvia glared at the bird and then…
FLUOSH!
The winds rapidly wrapped together with one another, reforming the bird’s body, which seemed to have been mostly just Mana and Spirit Energy.
And once the light dissipated, what was left was…
“That’s… That’s a person?”
Aquarina and her friends could hardly believe it.
