Chapter 1048: List Of Components
Chapter 1048: List Of Components
Gloomlight Extract could be used in potions for night vision or flash resistance.
That was the description of the extract, but there was actually another line beneath the description.
[Component for Siren’s Compass]
Despite not having the blueprint for Siren’s Compass yet, the system appeared to be generous enough to inform him of the components of the compass.
Some might be exhilarated to learn of such generosity, but Xu Feng was the opposite.
Rather than being exhilarated, his emotion was actually in turmoil that the components for the Siren’s Compass might be far more difficult than he initially calculated.
After all, when the system informed the players of the component suitable for an item, it usually meant two possibilities. One possibility was to explain the difficulty in crafting the item successfully in a subtle manner.
The second possibility was that the list of components required to craft the item was extremely long. Thus, the system had to provide and remind the players of which components were needed.
The term, extremely long, meant that the item exceeded at least 20 components in crafting.
Because this was the first time Xu Feng received this mission, he was actually going in blind and adapting as things went on.
He scratched the back of his head slightly as he figured that this was definitely a very long mission.
Luckily his message was still available, so Xu Feng swiftly updated his current state to Carmen and Veronica.
Of course, he omitted the part of him exploring the Phantasm Sea. Instead, he only informed them that he was undergoing a difficult mission.

At the Town Hall in one of the main offices, Carmen was sitting across from Veronica. They were discussing the explosive popularity of the training hall and the number of players who sought to join their chamber of commerce.
"Our revenue has exploded." Veronica’s face was glistening as she counted the money earned.
"Who could have imagined the scandal posts and the exposing of the Illuminati influence caused many players to flock to our town instead?"
Nodding in agreement, Carmen was also happy that their town was starting to overtake Reave Town.
"The players aren’t dumb. They knew that if they continued to patronize Reave Town, sooner or later, a monopolization would occur." Carmen snickered coldly.
Having been with Xu Feng for so long, she had picked up a thing or two regarding monopolization and domination of one affiliation.
Veronica smiled lightly when she saw how she had gradually turned brighter and shrewd. She was about to comment further on the monopolization topic when a notification popped up.
Her brows furrowed and she quickly opened her inbox, only to see the message that Xu Feng had sent her.
While she read the message, Carmen also received similar ones.
"You also received the message?" Veronica asked softly.
"Yes, the Guild Leader won’t be available for the time being and told us to proceed with the plan we discussed," Carmen responded. She was a bit surprised that Xu Feng was going to be unavailable again.
The last time it happened, she recalled it was when he returned with a hidden class, one that he still kept a tight lid on.
’What kind of surprises will he bring this time when he returns?’ Carmen pondered silently. She was truly curious and intrigued by his progress when having a solo adventure.
While Carmen’s mind was distracted, Veronica stood up and said, "I’m honestly not even surprised at this point that the Guild Leader dumped the administrative work to me again."
"It’s the usual drill." Carmen giggled and teased her.
"Ugh, I would have dragged you along with me, but you’re technically the representative and backbone of our guild." Veronica clicked her tongue.
Thanks to Carmen’s repeated high-profile actions, her name was already synonymous with the Vanguard Guild. In other words, the stronger Carmen became, the greater their prestige was.
Therefore, Veronica would never jeopardize their guild by dragging her to do administrative work and not focus on her strength.
"Don’t be swamped with administrative work and neglect on your level." Carmen kindly reminded her. "The Divine World is progressing rapidly and players are starting to prepare for the second major update that should follow up with the first event. If your level isn’t adequate, then you will miss out a lot."
"I know," Veronica frowned and understood that there were many theories revolving around the second major update.
Ever since players were completely caught off-guard by the first major update, many had turned active and enthusiastic to research what could be the next one.
And currently, the most popular theory was to recapture the fallen cities overtaken by the Colossuses. The fallen cities had developed rapidly and long surpassed the mainstream players’ level, forcing them to lose out on many opportunities and time.
Moreover, the NPC armies were very unsuccessful in trying to recapture the fallen cities.
At the current juncture, only some prominent fallen cities have been recaptured, with the majority still controlled by the Colossuses.
Maybe the only blessing was that players could still enter the fallen cities but at a steep fee and high taxes.
Thanks to these factors, many regular players had given up trying to grind or level up in those regions. Instead, they opted to come to Haven Wind Town and do their best to grind monsters at Twilight Glades.
At the very least, they wouldn’t have to deal with the dangers of being screwed over in the town.
The Vanguard Guild hired many NPC guards in the town to patrol and ensure public safety. Additionally, the town was extremely difficult to siege, given its strategic location.
Many even speculated that the Reave Town was seething in anger when they watched the Haven Wind Town prosper thanks to their assistance.
Having roped so many players into their Reave Town, only to end up having them poached in an instant by the Vanguard Guild was a humiliating event.
"Hmm, Reave Town wants to initiate a peace treaty with us." At this moment, Veronica flashed an amused smile at the news.
