Chapter 1087: Authority
Chapter 1087: Authority
The VIP Booth descended into complete silence when they saw the new official news from the Vanguard Guild.
"Are you nuts?" Zhao Xin lost her composure and shouted at him.
Even Feng Qing Rou’s complexion turned ugly. Needless to say, she was now forced into a dead end because of such a declaration. Either she continues her collaboration with the Vanguard Guild, or she forgoes them and joins the Miracle Pavilion.
There was no longer a middle bridge between them.
After all, everyone related to the Miracle Pavilion was considered hostile, and vice versa.
"Did you even know what you just did, Mister Feng?" Feng Qing Rou asked in disbelief. "There are at least over 100 first-rate guilds partnered with the Miracle Pavilion and many more Super Guilds. Besides them, there were even more low-rate guilds that wished to hug their big thighs."
To summarize, Xu Feng had declared war on at least 1000 guilds. Such a scale was even more exaggerated than the time when the Vanguard Guild declared war on MIST.
"How much authority do you actually hold?" Contrary to Feng Qing Rou’s astonishment at the declaration, Zhao Xin was more concerned about his actual status in the Vanguard Guild.
She refused to believe he was some mere Honorary Elder.
What sort of Honorary Elder could usher the guild to directly declare war in such a fashion?
"I don’t hold much authority." Xu Feng said and made a pinching gesture between his fingers to show how tiny his authority was.
"Our Vanguard Guild had long been dissatisfied with the Miracle Pavilion’s action and previous scheme against us. We simply ignored it because we were shorthanded and couldn’t afford to confront them." He continued, explaining how the declaration of war had long been in the making.
Although not all of his words were true and were mixed with lies, the aspect regarding their desire to confront them was true.
To expand the guild globally and rise in status, wealth was an essential factor.
Moreover, this wealth cannot be shaky or lack the security to continue to be maintained.
Therefore, being the owner of a chamber of commerce was the most suitable option. The Miracle Pavilion naturally understood this simple concept as well.
Thus, they would always eliminate any potential competitors to maintain their monopoly.
In hindsight, they were destined to be enemies, albeit Xu Feng didn’t anticipate them to be so swift and ruthless as to target them in the real world.
’I’m really envious how some other people get to deal with dumb enemies or villains without needing to think so much.’ He was truly exhausted from laying out multiple plans to deal with the Miracle Pavilion.
"Wait, are you saying that you always planned to fight against the Miracle Pavilion?" Feng Qing Rou was taken aback.
She couldn’t fathom just how many enemies their guild was making.
There was the Reaver Guild, Lethal Corp, MIST, Malefic Order, Illuminati, and now the Miracle Pavilion as well.
It was hard to even imagine how an upstart guild could survive and sustain itself despite going against so many people.
Many people had already started to look up to Vanguard Guild and their fearlessness in going to war with these behemoths.
"I reckon this must have been planned since the opening of the Vanguard Guild’s Shop at Star Falls City, right?" Zhao Xin suddenly chimed in and inquired. "That shop must have been opened to test the water. And because it was so successful, the guild decided it was a profitable business."
Nodding his head, Xu Feng must praise Zhao Xin for being able to link the situation together.
"You’re right. The shop was merely a teaser, and a way to see if the Divine World had changed the virtual reality meta." He admitted and explained how the behemoths in previous virtual reality were impossible to topple. Almost as soon as a VRMMORPG was launched, those behemoths would instantly monopolize everything.
However, the Divine World was different. To promote fairness, many features were disabled until it reached a certain stage, preventing anyone from getting ahead of others.
Naturally, there were still some loopholes to it, but they were only for the prepared and dedicated players who were willing to explore everything.
Those who didn’t care about the world’s immersion or use their time to study the Divine World were destined to achieve nothing early on.
Sometime later, the conversation ended abruptly when a server arrived at their VIP Booth, holding a large tray of fried chicken.
"Alright, let’s just resume watching the fight." Xu Feng clasped his hands and hurriedly grabbed a fried drumstick. He dipped the fried drumstick in the bold BBQ sauce while shifting his attention to Zhao Kai, who was stuck in a difficult position.
At the battle stage, Zhao Kai’s eyes narrowed coldly in the face of Tyson’s repeated punches.
’His punches are like bullets.’ Zhao Kai gnashed his teeth. There were times when he wanted to retaliate from a small opening, but his instinct screamed at him that it was a trap.
His instinct was rarely wrong, so he remained still and endured a defensive stance.
Needless to say, such action had already made him lose multiple points from the three judges.
Emcee Jimmy was also very excited as he continued his fervent commentary.
"Tyson’s punches are really like a nail gun. Each one is more precise than ever with the same controlled force. Poor Zhao Kai could only be forced into a corner and become a mere sandbag for punching practice." Jimmy exclaimed and seemed ready to do a countdown for Zhao Kai.
In return for such commentary, Tyson’s eyes lit up. He knew the fight was going to be his victory as long as he remained steady. There was no need for any flashy play or moves. He simply needed to keep his offense as it was to secure the round.
Back at the VIP Booth, Xu Feng had already finished one of the drumsticks as he shook his head.
"What a pity. Kai is still inexperienced." He commented. "Tyson will advance to the finals, and Kai will probably be in a slump for a while."
